Will it be completed Sup Forums? I'm not saying it will deliver on all its promises. We all know that won't happen. But will it be completed? Will all the modules be combined into a single whole and the game released? And actual space MMO with procedural generation and depth.

I've sunk quite a bit into it. I've followed shit enough to be confident that it will deliver.

Most locations will be diverse but there will be a lot of repeated assets, which is understandable.

Squadron 42 has the potential to be the most cinematic gaming experience of all time, though keeping hopes low.

I've had the pleasure to see in-house stuff that hasn't really been shown. They don't wanna spoil every as that would make commercial launch... boring.

Also, Organization mechanics are some of the most important parts they need to get right

Chris could extend the campaign another ten years and call it "complete" when he's sitting alone with a fax machine in an otherwise empty warehouse. Crowdfunding has rendered basic development terminology meaningless.

2019 should be a good year, people might own pcs good enough to play it and it will be in early beta

cinematic != good

dogfighting is lame and unfun
walking around makes you fuckin nauseous becuase camera is fixed to the characters model
runs like a parkinsons downy with MS

will be shit
original backer
>cinematic

they have like 300+ employees now so they will produce something playable eventually

Chris explained that there will be a release containing all (or most) of what they promised, but the game will never be finished because they will be adding more features into the game.

>Will all the modules be combined
They did that already

>dogfighting is lame and unfun

Back when they had the hornet for free, this is not true at all.

The dogfighting in that game is top fucking tier. The ability to lock and unlock the flight limiter and g limiter is top fucking tier.

I can even think how you could say that, unless your rolling around in an aroura space SUV...like me. Thats kind of lame, but a few unlocks makes it great.

The hornet is full fucking awesome to dogfight in.

>I can even think how you could say that
He probably hasn't played the game

Its like the one thing they unequivocally done right. Its litterally the best part about the game. I cant think of another space game that does it better, small craft wise. Early-mid X series comes close.

> procedural generation
>depth

Pick one

>procedural generation
>bad
It's a tool, like any other

Unless you honestly believe that after the stated goal of having over 100 systems with roughly 400 landing zones, they're also going to hand craft from scratch a couple dozen fully explorable planets as well

They're going to port it to Unreal Engine 4 to keep up with the tech.

They asked John Romero and he said that's definitely the way to go.

It's taking way too long now. I've heard rumours that their money pocket is low and they need to release the game soon to stay alive.

did he also make them his bitch

He made them comb his hair.

are they still there to this day

YES

If SC ever makes it to release, it'll be horribly broken. Whatever the case, the game won't be worth the time or money spent making it.

Which starter ship should I pick Sup Forums

then all is lost

Reliant

between the Aurora MR and Mustang Alpha

source? or just talking outta your ass

>Mustang

Aurora is even worse though, at least the Mustang has a cockpit you can see out of

You don't clip through the roof of the Aurora though do you?

>source?
I am Chris Roberts Sr.

Can I have my money back?

No. You can give me more though.

Dont worry, i got your paypal. Ill do it for you

B...but that's against the law. Right?

I AM THE LAW

>>Will it be completed Sup Forums?

It'll never be "finished", they'll just keep adding more and more content.

They've set feature milestones, like the Arena Commander, Persistent Universe, Squadron 42, etc, but they'll just keep adding more and more ships/stations/planets/etc as they can create the art for it.

Pretty amazing for a game without a subscription fee.

Don't need subscriptions when you sell ingame money

Agreed, the flight physics are top notch, they've got that right from the very beginning.

I just wish I had a control setup to really take advantage of it, I'll probably buy a good HOTAS setup before Squadron 42 comes out.

That's fine with me.
I backed the game really early on, for a couple starter ships and various in-game things, but I bet I'll buy a couple more things once the game gets started with the persistent universe proper.

I think of it as rewarding a developer for continuing to provide support and content for a game, I've done it before with the Blizzard F2P games for example.

In my aurora i have trouble getting passed wave 4 or 5.

Back when they had the hornet i was fucking unstoppable. Gimballed turret, missles, etc. Nothings better than turning and burning, dumping counter measures before getting behind a station, turning off the limiter, flipping end over end, going full AB and popping out the same side you came from.

Last time I tried the game, which was a few months back, where you could fly around and land on stations, walk around inside, etc - everything was so buggy, the models would cause each other to flip out.

I figured the game was pretty fucked at that point.

Gamescom Demo gives me a lot of hope, and if that is what the game is going to be like, then it could be really great.

Just the idea of getting a buddy to go out and loot wrecks, steal cargo, pirate, get paid to do wetwork - even just mapping planets and exploring sounds really fun.

of course, this looks like a game that will suck if your playing it alone.

Although the idea of spending your money on top notch armor and weapons and hiring yourself out as merc marine to some other players ship\crew seems like a good way to make money

You can have an NPC crew but the larger your ship, the more inefficient they become in comparison to players

Which, depending on what your doing, depends on whether or not an NPC crew will cut it.

If I'm flying some kinda cargo hauler, and my main way of making money is basically being a space long haul trucker\smuggler, then an NPC crew is perfectly fine.
