might sound plebeian as fuck at first glance, but CoD1 / UO is still one of my all time favorite WW2 shooters, both in SP and MP.

I also dig Red Orchestra 2 and Return To Castle Wolfenstein.

My melanin enhanced gentleman of high taste, COD1 and UO are indeed top tier games.

I would only rank original Medal of Honor games and Hidden and Dangerous 2 above them.

>Battalion 1944 still a year away from release
It's been a long time since i've been this hyped for a game.

...

the last wwi veteran died in your lifetime
the last wwii veteran will die in your lifetime

the game looked fine, but the devs seem to be a bit confused of what kind of game they want to make. All that attention to details and realism in visuals, but they want to make a BF-like casual shooter in the end??

...

Speak for yourself user, i'm 25 with the lungs and liver of a 90 year old. Wish i wasn't so fucking stupid to start smoking and drinking when i was younger.

...

>it's a server mapchanges to Bridges of Druzhina episode

Seems more like Call of Duty without perks and killstreaks than Battlefield to me which i'm fine with, CoD didn't really start turning to shit until they added perks and killstreaks.

A NUUUU

Id have to say
Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30
Great game where you tactically command your squad mates through the campaign that actually did a good job showing the soldiers bond and emotion plus the horror of war while being good in action

Valkyria Chronicles

Resistance & Liberation, never forget.

Why hasn't anyone tried to make a spoopy game set within ww2?

It's a "nobody on the enemy team knows how to play AT so you get 150+ kills with the tank" episode

>it's a 'lets use the ptr for sick quickscopes and ignore that panzer trashing our entire shit' episode

Forgotten Hope 2 is still probably my favorite, although RO2 is pretty fun too.

The Falling Sun, it's shit.

More games need tanks like RO2. That shit is just a whole different level.

I was killing a guy named wrath earlier today

>enemy tank running around unmolested
>at rifleman slot is free
>mfw MVP title is free
AT rifelmanning in ro2 is way less fun than in ro1.

The new desert map shown for BF1 really made me want a new WW2 African campaign game, except not made by DICE. I've already played through MoHAA and CoD2 recently.

mah fellow FH2 nigga

Isn't RTCW supposed to be that.

>ww2

I'm suprised it's taken this long for people to get interested in ww1. The only thing that will keep me from having fun in BF1 is the lack of helicopters. That's pretty much all I did in BF4. Fly helicopters. Battlefront sucks dick because the vehicles are almost nonexistent. BF1 will have a few vehicles, but we'll see if they fuck them up as bad as they did in Star Wars Call of Duty presented by Dice.

ww2 is interesting/"relate-able" for the modern war elements, but ww1 had some gritty as fuck hardcore shit going on.

inb4 30 ww1 games after BF1 sells a million copies and the ww1 setting is run into the ground and we never have any good ww1 games.

Its an arcade shooter dude.

nah, you're right. vcod and uo was good. cod2 really dropped the ball and it was just a downward spiral from there. then consoles got involved and the series was done

close combat series and war thunder are my favorite wwII games

And? It's a game set in WW2 with horror themes.

>BF3/4 helicopters
i guess they are fun if you like the hot air balloon tier handling

But BF1 just looks like a WW1 game, it doesn't actually play any different compared to any other BF game as far as I can tell.

>inb4 30 ww1 games after BF1 sells a million copies
It's an overhyped AAA shooter m8, it'll be closer to 10 million.

It's the best helicopter flying you are going to get in active mp shooters in the last 5 years. It was all about the bro-op with your buddies shooting rockets and repairing out the side. Played Battlefield 2 and once Bad Company 2 came around I actually had friends who played too and that opened up the world of bro-op flying and fucking people up.

>some obscure military sim with better helicopter flying that has gigantic empty maps
sure go ahead and recommend me something

I assume you meant WW2?

Panzer Elite, it's probably the best WWII tank sim out there.

>gigantic empty maps
Stop playing shitty gamemodes.

You are the perfect example of how braindead and ADHD ridden the modern gamer is.

Really enjoyed that game. Wish they'd make a new one.

What's a decent helicopter flying game what I can play with my friends and riddle death on enemy players? Can you name a game? Are you going to give me a recommendation? Are just pretend to know what you are talking about?

I was implying you couldn't find me a game that didn't have a dead community.

Should I buy it off of Origin or just torrent it?

I know Pandemic won't be getting any money, but torrenting isn't my favorite thing to do.

I heard that the game doesn't run on modern PCs so well. At least that's what I heard.

>I was implying you couldn't find me a game that didn't have a dead community.
Arma, they actually control like helicopters. If you can't enjoy something unless there's an explosion every 3 seconds then that's your problem.

>I'm feeling down
>lets talk about simulations that recreate the worst times in human history

I don't think it looks very good. If I were to play CoD2, I would play CoD2 I guess. I'm more interested into Days of War.

I'd say the Holy Roman Empire was a worse time in human history. They got up to some fucked up shit.

Flew a lot when Day Z was a thing. It's not that much different. Stay salty aerofag.
>hurrrr muh accuracy
I guess games are 100 times less fun for you when the copter flying isn't 100% accurate and that is your problem.

Arma is a shit community who either takes it way too seriously or is completely retarded. That is a garbage community so you can call that dead. Terrible recommendation.

>hot weather balloon handling.
Nah, BF games have fine heli handling for me. Have fun in your game adventures.

*crsht*
Over
*crsht*
I was going for accuracy, just for you.
u mad?

>DayZ
Says a lot really.
>u mad?
No, but you clearly are.

You are clearly mad that I think Battlefield helicopter flying is fun.

I'm not the one that sperged. Think about that.

>tfw rifles-only mod
>tfw it was really popular
>tfw it was heaps enjoyable
>ftw I made more online friends than IRL friends at the time

Why did they have to move on from Call of Duty 2 lads? Why??

I'll sperge as much as I want. I don't care about calling you wrong.

>you have been proven wrong
>start calling me a spurge
k

>*crsht*
>Over
>*crsht*
Wow, the second hand embarrassment is killing me from that attempt at a sick bern.

After many years Toujane may become boring.

You haven't proven anything other than your poor taste.

underrated game

lol
nice

Too short.

IDK bromeo, attack choppers in BF4 are incredibly fun when you get the hang of them. Especially if you're playing with a friend in the gunner seat.

Medal of Honor Pacific Assault and Airborne
Brothers In Arms series

...

For me I hate the remote controlled stuff, the lock on stuff, and the sheer range and power of most vehicles in modern bf stuff. Hate might not be the best word since those can raise the skill ceiling and present interesting opportunities, but sometimes I want something a bit simpler with a larger focus on teamwork and strategy than personal skill. Only reason I'm looking forward to BF1 (though I'd rather them have set it in WW2 since it's designed like a WW2 game anyway)

I installed Origin just for that game, bought it 2.50
Still haven't gotten around to finish it though

I really miss pandemic...

Blimps hunting you were the best part of that game

Remember me?

If you like this, go get Day of Infamy. It's Insurgency meets Day of Defeat, and Valve even gave them permission to recreate DoD maps for DoI

What game?

it's so fucking weird looking back and realizing that gearbox of all people made a pretty good tactical shooter

no stupid jokes, unique mechanics, thoughtful gameplay...what the fuck happened?

Is that soldier or whatever it was called? Where you controlled a few units

youtube.com/watch?v=oUn9wf2AXnI

SS was comfy as shit

Blitzkrieg olso

UO is still the GOAT CoD game
>you will never get to play base assault ever again

Do people still play Day of Defeat:Source? I'm looking to kill nazi's.

My niggas. Sudden Strike 6 vs 6 multiplayer games will always be someone of my absolute most fond childhood memories. So many thousands of soldiers, so many tanks, so many air strikes.

>tfw there will never be a british vs japanese in burma game because the far smaller pacific island conflict overshadows it

Fuck you, yankees.

This was probably the easiest mission in the game except for the entire German campaign.

how is that day of infamy or whatever its called? is it worth the money now or should I wait?

Battlefield 1942, i still play it.

>It's an "Enemy tank drove 200 meters away from anyone capable of watching its sides again" episode

>mfw CoH3 is in the pacific with British versus Japanese

>in burma hunting gooks with reginald and sir george
>'It Shan't be I' starts playing

>Divine Wind commander for Japs
>Aussies or China as the second allied army

>tfw you made that pepe
nice

i had a ton of fun with this game

my friend is going through the same thing, liver cancer - not even 30.

stop hating on cod 2 you mongoloids it's fucking awesome, in fact a ton of people still play it to this day

>bf1

fucking trash game that makes ww1 look like a joke, it's literally a reskin of bf4 without choppers, fucking hacks

Aren't these teamkills?

Who /MoW series/ here? I can't post a screenshot because I am at work right now.

MoW 1 > Soldiers > AS 2 > Red Tide > (Vietnam) > Condemned Heroes > AS1 > Faces of War

Anyone hype for Gates of Hell?

In Men of War: Assault Squad 2 there are a few Commonwealth vs Japan missions where you can anally devastate nips with Matildas and vice versa.

>FOW that low when its clearly the best of them all since its not a clusterfuck of poorly implemented features

Soldiers was a great game
>10 year old me trying to beat officer
Cod 1 was pretty good, on harder difficulties it's a bit hard though

hey, I remember playing the hell out of the demo for that game on the PS3.

I agree, but it has problems. The gas mask super nazis are just awful and the game is way too short.

Other than that, I really liked it. Jumping off target and having to battle your way back to friendly forces was fun, especially since stuff like that wasn't scripted.

>FOW
>clearly the best
>random accuracy, no ballistics and shit
>bullshit enemy spawns in the middle of the map
>AT guns were indestructible for tanks, HE shells only throw back the crewmen and do no damage
>that German mission where you have to wipe an entire American fuel depot with a handful of soldiers
It has a few good sides, but it's mostly full of bullshit.

You are supposed to look at it as spiritual sequel to Commandos.

Console port with horrible mouse aiming.
>dead zones with mouse controls
