Honest play and gimmicks aren't some right and wrong way to play as if you aren't playing the game right.
'Gimmick' play is perfectly fine, just that it will only work a few times before it gets extremely risky and you need to step up your mind games.
'Honest' play is straight up footsies and solid play.
