"Treassure fleets" (UA). Can form fleets earlier. Extra yield from trade routes between continents.

"El Escoreal" (Phillip II UA). Units get combat bonus against players of another religion. Inquisitors remove religion an extra time.

Conquistador (UU): Bonus when tiled with religious unit. Converts cities upon capture if conquistador is adjacent.

Mission (UI): Provides faith. Bonus faith when on different continent and bonus science when next to campus.

What is this, Philip for ants?

I've really kind of grown to like the new style and animations, this guy especially looks fun.

My first reaction to these bonuses is "jesus fuck that's strong" every time, but that goes for every single civ so far.

NOSOTROS

I'm glad they're keeping all the major mechanics and features from Civ V from the get go, instead of gutting the game again like they did when going from IV to V.

Also, thank fucking god that global happiness is gone.

Philip II looks hilarious when he laughs.

>I'm glad they're keeping all the major mechanics and features from Civ V from the get go

But diplo victory.

By far the worst victory condition to win or lose to. Simply unfun.

NO ONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION

>Speaking woman

Nope.

Spain looks hilarious to play as or against, although they probably won't be too strong unless religious victory will be prominent.

>global happiness is gone.
all is well in the world

why

>Treasure Fleets

Boy, it would be a shame if something happened to them.

Diplo victory never got to be interesting in Civ 5, I'm not bothered of them cutting it

Unique unit that comes fairly late in the game, melee units have traditionally not been very strong unless they are horse units in Civ games, science victory is usually the prominent one and Spain lacks any bonus towards it. The bonus towards settling on other continents might be completely useless, at least on multiplayer where most people play on Pangaea.

The extra combat strength against other faiths is an incredibly strong unique trait though. Depending on the numbers it might not hold up against America's combat bonus on their home continent bonus, and Scythias raw military power.

ZIJN DADEN BENNE GROOT

Are they getting rid of the world congress altogether?
.
I agree that winning (or losing) by diplomacy wasn't fun, but I really liked the wrangling within the world congress during the game: international games/ worlds fair were awesome and getting to block or implement them was great.

They have said that they want to see how players interact with each other before they try to implement the world congress. They weren't happy with the implementation it had in Civ V.

There's a religious victory that's a win condition where you have to be the majority religion (50% of cities) in everyone's territory. The Conquistador bonus there is fucking huge.

I am aware, that's why I originally stated unless religious victory will be prominent in the game. Spain's strength entirely relies on religion victory being an obtainable goal, which it might not be if science victory ends up being the be all and end all of multiplayer again.

Well I still don't want to wait until the DLC expansions to have a full game, but that is the way they do things I guess

Seems like it, but there's a bunch of other diplomacy options (gossip and intrigue, agendas) to make up for it.

I did like the idea of the World Congress, it's just that the implementation was awkward because all the choices except a few were so uninteresting and the x turn wait for it to appear made it very non-interactive.

What do you know about the gossip, intrigue and agenda mechanics?
.
.
Also, epic denunciation mod

You will have multiple continents on a Pangaea map, they don't have to be separated by water.

Plus religion can be used to fuel other types of victories, they get a bonus to science from their UI and can use faith to purchase Great Scientists.

And yeah, great mod. I just wish they'd kept in the shittalk that's in the Civ 5 files.

...

Thanks! Lots of info, can't believe this site slipped my mind!

I hope they fix the typo
its called El Escorial
Good times there as a toddler famalams

Peter?
Literally who?

>can't get through a single Civ thread without some uneducated American going "literally who?"

like clockwork

The guy that made sure Sweden would never ever be relevant in global politics again.

...

>all that clipping

Yup, that's all of them

Spain, Poland, and Greece will likely all have two leaders

here's hoping for Nzinga in DLC for Kongo too

I know, right? There were actually 3 Peters, Firaxis fucked up

implying I need to know someone that goes by the name Peter Durr Gross, Fuck off yuroshit

>german game will have Peter and Peter II
cool

Spain is the absolute god-tier Civ YET AGAIN

Marcus Aurelius instead of Trajan would've been the bees' knees desu

don't be mad at me you don't even understand basic german or history

>Пётp Beликий
>german history
Russian, Dutch and Swedish one maybe, but why German?

>remove heresy
Sounds good to me.

>basic german or history

not german history, the filename is in german

>Never played civ
>have 3 4 & 5 in my gabens
what do? I want to get into this saga, fuck

>There were actually 3 Peters, Firaxis fucked up

Not necessarily, it's obvious they mean Peter the Great, the Tsar, but they'll probably do what they did last game and add titles at the beginning of every turn e.g if you're a backstabbing cunt it'll say "Dickcheese Ruler the Terrible/Great/Evil/Mighty/etc." so if it said "Peter the Great the Great" it'd be pretty fucking redundant.
>Why don't they just call him Peter Romanov then?
pic related

Oh right, I forgot about that change to continents. Well then there's a decent chance Spain will be good, or average at worst.

civ 4 or 5 complete editions go on sale fairly often, go for either of them, they're both good

don't get any non-complete though

forgot pic

Yeah, sorry.

Nzinga is in as a Great General, but her ability is generic enough they could swap her out for someone else.

I already have them
I'm asking about where do I begin

>and add titles at the beginning of every turn e.g if you're a backstabbing cunt it'll say "Dickcheese Ruler the Terrible/Great/Evil/Mighty/etc."

this is completely decided by your policies

Tradition: Lord/Lady
Liberty: Consul
Honor: the Great
Piety: the Pious
Patronage: the Enlightened
Aesthetics: Master/Mistress
Commerce: Doge
Exploration: Captain
Rationalism: the Wise
Freedom: President
Order: Chairman
Autocracy: the Terrible

just boot up civ 5 then, start on Prince (don't go lower), start a game, disable automatic citizen management in your cities, good to go

sounds fun to go for the new religion victory condition
Spain is once again map dependent. no bonus on big pangea maps and you have to conquer some capitals/cities to use your ability
I like the leader, though.

Is Harald going to be Norway or Scandinavia?
Norway seems like a strange choice out of the 3 Scandinavian Countries.

...

...

...

they really tightened up the art didn't they

Well he was the king of norway, and if they went with kalmar union the leader would have to be danish

Norway, see the leaked list here (alphabetically only Norway fits)

It'll really be an amalgamation anyway, like Denmark/Vikings and Germany/HRE

Random VI info:

>Greeks have the Acropolis as a Theatre Square replacement
>Arabia has the Madrassa
>Romans have Baths instead of Aqueducts
>Kongo has a Swordsman replacement
>Norway has the Stave Church and the Longship
>India has the Stepwell UI and the War Elephant

They just need to change those shitty tree models and it's good to go. Mods will save us anyway

Where are you getting this from?

>Gorgo

The major problem with the art style is their decision to model each individual tree on Forest tiles; it makes every screenshot in which they're visible totally hideous.

Mining the Germany stream for info. The tooltips aren't complete yet, so everytime they hover over a tech it shows everything it unlocks, regardless of civ.

what is this cartoony shit

>Main city is Skyscrapers
>to the left of SkyScrapers is an Aquaduct
>around the city is medieval walls
>Wooden Water Mill attached to Aqueducts
>medievel buildings to the left of aqueduct
I hope this is just the American graphic set and stuff like Mediterranean and Asian civs graphics blend better.

While most will recommend you start on Prince, which is basically the normal difficulty, I would recommend starting on Warlord, easy, or even Chieften, very easy, if you have never played a Civ game before. There are A LOT of rules in terms of what you should value more and what you should leave for later.

Also, I would recommend starting with Russia as they're good all around and have great production bonuses, although they start near tundras which suck. Other great all around Civs are America, Germany, China, and Japan. Once you get a good handle on the game and you start to get a feel for your favorite playstyle, try leaning to the more specialized Civs. Finally, pick the Pangea map so you can almost completely ignore water.

Once you get good at the game, mix things up and rise the difficulty. I used to only be able to squeeze by on Prince but now I can beat Emperor without even trying.

We know its cartoony shit, in fact we knew it one year ago. Now shut your gobber and lurk more newfag.

What is he laughing at?

Reading about this game threads feels like playing q3a for the first time
the difficulty curve is steep beyond fuck
Thanks for the advice

Portugal

Alberto Barbosa's Portuguese Caliphate.

Some cities are actually kind of like that though, especially in European countries that got half destroyed in WW1 & WW2 and all the old buildings were replaced by new ones.

Ottoman fleet

Dutch rebels

Podemos.

its not that hard to learn, that guy just sucks at the game
all you have to do is do what the next turn button tells you to do

They did that so they wouldn't look weird with the map rotation.

...

And who doesn't?

The main problem for me is the coloring
The Aqueduct stone is bright white with a green trim and roof which is the Civ color I'm guessing

While the medieval wall has pale yellow walls with a pale dark blue roof.

The Lighthouse and dock is fucking Cyan for some reason which goes against the Aqueduct green trim.

I have no idea what color this Civ is.

The futility of the Aztecs

>the party he joined with is so fucking cancerous he actually lost votes
Impressive tbqh.

Alright nigs

Claim your Civ VI waifus.

Protestantism

>Main city is Skyscrapers
>medievel buildings to the left of aqueduct
Nah, that's the historical district.

that's a man, baby

>literally a manjaw

I can only imagine the butthurt at Gorgo.

>Injustice 2 Wonder Woman.jpg

>no isabella

Pirated and dropped

The reason for the coloring is for readability from above: they color the districts differently

civ6 will have more than one leader again

The only other decent one

Too white for me.
