>save game

>BETTER SAVE IT ONE MORE TIME TO BE SURE
Save game
I fucking hate this
You understand me on a psychological level.
I used to do this with the Pokemon games all the time.
Also Ocarina of Time
This
I used to save before every trainer battle so I'd never lose my money.
>playing persona
>go through entire dungeon
>power outage for 4 hours
>4 hours of wondering if i actually saved the game or not
>"I swear i saved the game, or did I imagne it?"
>have low battery power
>seconds feel like hours while saving
>make a ton of saves
>overwrite a different one every time I make a new save
>keep two saves from now on
>tfw chronic savescummer
>w-was that autosave just now?
>...better be safe
>save
>continue playing for a few seconds
>save again
>tfw games don't have an option to save anymore
Hey, it might seem obsessive compulsive, but a few extra seconds to save over and over like a sperg is nothing compared to losing hours of game time.
It sucks so bad...
>You can only save at a specific spot in town
I love ya Dragon Quest but jeez.
What do you guys name your saves if it gives you the option?
>saves don't override
>Save game cus im going to bed
>press exit and window pops up
>ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO QUIT ALL UNSAVED PROGRESS WILL BE *LOST*
>only 2 options
>QUIT or cancel
sfgjdzbhdx
AAA
>At the end of disc 2 of FF7
>lose power at the exact moment it's saving to the memory card
>"Save file is ruined"
>well fuck that game for the next few years
>tfw only 1 save slot per playthrough
>game recommends you to save often
>game is known for corrupting its saves
>save every 5 minutes on a new slot just to make sure your 50h playthrough doesn't get wasted
>tfw you finish a (20 hours) game with over 1000 saves
what I was doing, in case I want to go back to a certain point and so I know what I'm doing if it takes a long time til the next session
>Only one MEMORY CARD per playthough
Fuck you, Dragon Quarter
>Playing Divinity: OS
>Click on an open space
>"Fight!"
>F5
>Click on character
>Move mouse
>Click the wrong space for your move
>F9
>Click on an open space
>"Fight!"
>Okay.
>Click the right space for your move
>...
>F5
>Click the wrong space for your move
>[repeat]
I love your mechanics but don't hurt me like this, Larian Studios.
>Have to make a back up file in case the first one get corrupted / deleted
>Have to make a back up of the back up
>Have to also quicksave the game THREE times aswell, just to be sure
>BUT I JUST SAVED
>IS IT SAVED OR NOT?
>save and leave so I can do something
>leave game on save screen so when I come back I'll remember I just saved
>come back
>save anyway because I'm not sure if I saved
shit game 1
shit game 2
>steam save cloud is full
>total time played 5 hours
>limited amount of saves
really made hitman a harder game
>rotating saves between save slots just in case
>game splits paths
>have to now split the remaining save slots equally between the two paths, along with leaving a save at the split
Why do games have limited save slots to begin with?
>save game
>save again because I forgot I just saved
>Play a game
>It keeps asking me if I want to save after every mission
>Missions end up being about 2-5 minutes long each
>Get annoyed and start making it a game to see how long I can go without saving
>Make it an hour or two
>Game crashes
>Mfw
>better safe than sorry
>Save often just to be safe
>Memory card data corrupted
The name of my current char.
i one time played my older brothers oot save file and didnt save cause i didnt wanna screw up his progress. the game actually deleted his file
better save one more time just to be sure
Haha us gamers right guys
>game keeps track of how many times you have saved
>if you save too many times you can't get the good ending
>enemy moves his hand a bit just as I click to attack
>hit ground
>Playing FFTactics with 1 save constantly overwriting it after each battle
>Save midway into the battles where you have to do all 3 or 4 in succession
>It becomes impossible, but there's no way to back out or grind up
>Have to make a new playthrough, producing 60 different saves as you go
cummies?
>quicksave
>better quicksave again
>one more quicksave won't hurt
>game crashes
Thanks S.T.A.L.K.E.R and New Vegas.
>playing Final Fantasy 3/6 at time of release
>get to Opera house
>3 power outages that day each time I'm there
>quit for the day
>Play a lot
>save
>Emulator crash
>Phew
>Open emulator again
>Its like i never saved
>Emulator actualy saves only when you close it
Fuck you Higan
>Never use manual save
>game autosaves before amazing part
>load autosave
>can no longer load that save autosave
why is this allowed?
How did a pic I don't have get posted?
moot's at it again
>deleting save....
>overwriting save...
This always made me so nervous. When it said "deleting".
Who?
Who?
>Save all the items for final boss
>Defeat boss without using any item
>Save game
>Quit
>Quitting will delete all unsaved progress, would you like to save?
>you have to fight your way to the in game save points
Ah yeah, I've experienced that horseshit before.
Thankfully MOST emulator programmers have the good sense of prioritizing functionality rather than how technically accurate it is and put in an option to force the sram file to refresh itself every few seconds.
>go to delete a file
>are you sure?
>are you REALLY sure?
>if you delete the file you can't get it back? Are you super, duper TOTALLY SURE YOU WANT TO DELETE THIS?
a
>Buy HG/SS used
>Play 3 hours
>You cannot save because a save file already exists
fuck this
this message somehow erases my memory of whether or not I saved 5 seconds ago, so I do it again to be safe
niggerfaggot {date}
or on occasion STOP CRASHING ON ME DURING SAVING YOU FLIPFLOP WANKPOT
>load instead of save
what game? i fucking need it
>mfw Rainbow Six recon missions
You either do or do not. There is no save
I used to do this when I was fucking 12
>save game
>game crashes
>save game multiple times just to be sure
>be sure to quit to the main menu, and then to desktop/dashboard before shutting off power just to be extra sure
Good Lord.
>Keep playing for a minute or two after saving just in case, wouldn't want that save to be corrupted
I had about 500mb savefiles in Skyrim 300 in Oblivion.
>open emulator
>save state
>OH FUCK, thank god i saved in game
>save corrupted
this
>tfw u delete the save your currently playing
>save game
>can't actually remember whether I actually saved the game just now or not
>save again
>realise while it's saving that yes, I did save it just before
>Ar nosurge
>Save on a new slot every single time I'm capable of doing so
>Save every single time I'm stopping
>Save every single time I'm switching
>Save whenever I level up
>Ended up with over 112 saves from doing this
>Still felt nervous about not saving
generally if I have multiple it will go in an order like this:
a
aa
aaa
b
bb
bbb
c
etc.
>only really need two save slots at most
>game has literal dozens of save slots
>feel the need to use up all of them
>always save before boss
>"I don't need to save, this will be over really fast"
>proceed to get into 45 minute battle and lose to boss who has 5hp
Anyone else get punished for their arrogance in videogames?
>abusing quicksave and quickload
>quicksave right after an enemy fired a bullet
>die
>reload quicksave
>die
>get trapped in an infinite cycle of death
>last proper save file is from 5 hours ago
>Make a stupid decision
>Game autosaves
>There's only one save
>load instead of save mid-battle
This was me in half life2 recently
>be me
>playing skyrim
>in that part where you fuck up a party for some reason
>enter a room with about 10 fucking people in
>ohfuckohfuckohfuck
>enter another room to heal with a hp bar as small as your penis
>oh wait im burning
>insta dead after loading screen
>well ill just-
>i only overwrite my save, never make another save for no reason
>trapped in "can you mash the inv button fast enough so i won't die instantly challange"
>can't
>and as a bonus im on console
>30 second fucking load time every time
after about a week i made a new game, never could make it out of there. i still remember how fucking pissed i was every time i failed
I don't know what game that user is talking about, but Resident Evil 2 lowers your completion rank if you save too many times. You need an A rank to get a lot of the unlockables.
>didn't understand saving
>either all my games had autosave or just used arcade codes.
>discover Final fantasy
>still don't know about saves
>will play through the opening sequence and try and get as far as possible before turning it off
>repeat this 20 times until my brother explains the process of saving
>mfw
if this ever happens to you, don't even fucking try to fight it, just start a new game, its not worth it
Is there a way to fix corrupted memory cards? Or am I fucked?
>700 for oblivion
>400 for skyrim
I think this is a message to not save scum so much.
I CAN CHANGE I KNOW I CAN
I forgot to put the part where I'm 8 years old but I'll just let people assume i'm retarded
a1, then a2, then a3, all the way to a9, then I skip the 0 and do b1, b2, b3, etc.
For RPGs where I don't reach the ninth save, I reserve the next letter for the next character.
>get to save point
>select "save game"
>reading memory card
>checking game data
>overwrite save?
>overwriting save data
>save finished
The next part you can't press O to exit out of.
>reading memory card
>checking game data
>select location
And THEN you can exit.
Grandia is an amazing game, but holy shit is it so goddamn slow.
this. even if its like 4 seconds.
>Choose delete data
>Screen has a character crying/panicking
