Some indie devs I follow on twatter say it's harsh, but there those who seem to enjoy it. Like this guy, he is 50 but looks 30.
How is the life of a game developer?
...
he is a writer/producer.
Kojima isnt a game dev.
He's a celebrity.
It's tough on indie devs, because they're nobodies.
Kojima probably gets noticed everywhere he goes.
>Like this guy, he is 50 but looks 30.
he is asian they look young for most of their lifes
then at 60 they age like really fast
For the past decade it was pretty shit. Crazy amounts of overtime with no guarantee of pay, awful, awful management, and working on garbage games nobody likes.
The management and overtime is getting better these days in big companies. Usually indie groups are people who don't know management at all, so they'll have big crunch periods right before deadlines where you don't sleep to get shit done. Not to mention how hard it can be finding funding, or having to split your time between working and gamedev
Source: friends in gamedev and I follow dev-oriented news
>Kojima probably gets noticed everywhere he goes.
i laughed harder than i should
maybe in Japan its true
The water is kept warm so its not too cold for the swimmers. so yeah he threw ice cold water on his face
Take OP's pic for example.
Even farmers and grocers know who kojima is!
interesting, good post friendo
It's a tough business. Most companies are too cut throat but game devs tend to enjoy it enough because it was part of their dream. Also depends on your actual job, higher ups are obviously in a cushier position so they don't have to work that many over time hours, get fucked in not being paid for the overtime, get fired and hired to avoid paying for benefits, etc.
>implying
he just wanted to have a pic with a white girl
Kojima was lucky because Konami was the only one who wanted to hire him because he was young and didnt know shit. He almost left them in 1986 after he got assblasted that noone wanted to make MG1 the way he wanted it, but they convinced him to stay. Seems like it was easy back then because it was a very small niche industry, nowadays the world is completely different
Asians seem to age exponentially. In a few years Kojima will probably look like he aged twenty years in a couple of months.
This can't be real.
Nice info, user. So, it seems like any other work that has deadlines
that's Quiet's actress
Pretty much. The main issue for a long time was just having shitty managers.
There's still a crazy high burnout rate for new people to the industry these days. Most leave after a year and don't come back
Photoshop.
The reason some indie devs say its hard its because they are lazy fucks, and don't want more people making shitty games like theirs.
if it is, it just looks like he forgot to dye his hair and the lower picture is higher res
>you think youre going to sit around and invent new games, artworks, stories and the like with your bros everyday in a chill office setting
>in reality you do tedious coding and tweaking, fighting for every inch of your "vision" on a project thats so big you dont even know what the whole thing looks like
at least thats what my friend tells me, and thats the best case scenerio of working on a game you actually like and thats popular enough to survive the process of making it. It still can be fun, but youre not getting paid to just dick around on Sup Forums all day
