4K is a memeresolution anyway. And TAA is shit.

TAA is actually really good if it's not half-assed

See DOOM, The Division, Uncharted 4 etc. Not sure what TAA dude sex is using though

>3840x2160

>one thousand and 200 hundred dollars gpu not able to hold 30 fps in a multiplat at "muh 4k"

I'm poor. Post 1440 and 1080 results

And the graphics card cycle repeats itself...

So this is the power of paying three times the price of a PS4 for the same FPS? Woah...

1080p

1440p

>3840x2160
>still using 16x aa
>still using max resolution shadows

This is why people think 4k is hard to run, disable both of those and you easily get 60+fps...

problem with new games is that they have terrible performance scaling, flatlining settings does not have much impact

aa is off in these benchmarks (msaa) and only taa is enabled, if you mean AF it's 8x and not 16x

The 970 meme card is already dipping below 30 fps? Fuck this crap

Sup Forums tried to warn you but you wouldn't listen, should've bought a 390.

oh boy IT BEGINS

but i thought nixxes was good

Game looks awesome, so obviously it puts some heavy strain on the GPU.

Does this mean the DX12 variant will rape the shit out of nVidia? Its already beating nvidia equivalent in DX11. 15-20% boost is what I'm expecting for AMD cards.

TAA is a blurry shitfest.
Can be somewhat fixed with sweetfx lumasharpen, but its still blurry.
SMAA and TSSAA are pretty good.

SMAA is garbage tier

>980ti on par with the R9 Fury
Nvidiots btfo

new drivers will double the FPS

>tfw you got a 390x and are just waiting for that DX12 mode.

Its gonna be hilarious when those cards shit on the GTX 1060 in dx12 mode.

...

>Game runs like hot garbage

God I love the phrase 'hot garbage'

>People think the game will run significantly better in DX12
Kek

hay i boughth this overprice nvidia card but gam still run bad?? whts a driver???

DX12 makes Sup Forums and Sup Forums very, very salty as it calls into question the (falsely held as of right now) belief that Nvidia's offering will always be faster than its AMD equivalent.

Pic related, the sort of troglodyte that inhabits both boards.

Considering you can get a 390x for about £250 new (same price as RX 480), and the 1070 costs about £380 new at best, I'd say the 390x is still the best bang-for-buck card out there.

The best price vs performance is the 470.

4k console experience

lmao

i'm getting 60fps on very high with a 390 and CHS turned off, seems fine to me

Thank Jeff Gerstmann for popularizing it.

>I'll take "Resolutions no one cares about for one thousand, Alex."

Yea, DX12 is no Vulkan.
Vulkan is fucking magic, sent me from 30-40 FPS in DOOM to 55-70 FPS.
Only problem is that taking screenshots sucks ass compared to DX11/OGL.

Remember when a beautiful game being hard to run at max settings was a good thing?

Crysis

What the fuck happened to cause this complete 180 stance?

Vulkan and DX12 are similar. However the difference is OpenGL/DX11. DX11 -> DX12 is significant for AMD but non-existent for nvidia. OpenGL -> Vulkan is magic for AMD and decent for nVidia.

DX12 vs Vulkan is similar across both.

I saw little to no gains moving from DX11 to DX12 in RotTR.
Even on my older-gen GPU, Vulkan still had enormous gains.

In what fucking universe is DXMD "beautiful?"

RottR is a garbage port. Its actually worse on both platform. When moving from DX11->DX12.

This one.
You're delusional if you don't think it is.
It looks fucking amazing on max settings.

Here, friend:

youtube.com/watch?v=P7RSszCPt68

This is why AMD cards run DOOM Vulkan so well. No other Vulkan game does this.

It looks mediocre on every setting.
Fucking Crysis 2 looks better than DXMD.

dx11 to dx12/vulkan is very minimal for nvidia because their hardware is running at near 100% efficiency.

amd hardware gains a lot from dx12 because it removes the additional driver overhead that is present in dx11. it also gains a fuckload of fps when moving from ogl to vulkan because amd ogl drivers have been utter shite since ati days and the improvement looks way better than when compared to dx11->dx12 because their ogl drivers are way behind their dx11 drivers. their vulkan/dx12 performance is almost identical but it looks like a bigger jump when using vulkan because of those shit ogl drivers like i just explained.

Remember when it wasn't far off the norm to include options that were unplayable on current tech? These days devs do it and people shit themselves

When Crytek included AO in Crysis 1 it had never been done before and offered an enormous visual gain.
Contact hardening shadows and MSAA have been done countless times.
In fact, all of the tech in DXMD has been done better before in games that ran on weaker hardware.

It wasn't just Crysis m8. For example, Unreal was pretty notorious for it years before back when Epic still made games

Right, but you get the point, those games pioneered new technologies that actually made a difference.
All this game does is poorly implement already-existing technology that make little difference yet destroy performance.

Its almost as if the main point of vulkan/DX12 - which is to code for each specific vendor - gives huge gains when its used!

let us also not forget Nvidia demo'd doom first on a 1080.

wccftech.com/amd-takes-graphics-share-nvidia-fourth-consecutive-quarter/

And they'll keep preordering games. Fucking retards. Can't even wait a few hours to see if the game runs correctly.

I'm pretty happy about that, nvidia getting monopoly would be terrible for PC gaming. Nvidia's behaviour is already a bit shitty anyway, what with throwing their old cards under the bus as soon as a new generation is out.

SMAA is absolute shit. Doesn't get any jaggies at all.

Crysis 1 had it first. Crytek gets credit whenever AO is included.

Unlike MD is showing up to be Crysis 1 is a good game.

We live in a timeline where electronic appliances fanboys are a thing. My toaster is better than your toaster, fags.

A game being hard to run because it implements new techniques or allows for very advanced graphical effects is one thing. A shitty unoptimized port is an other.

I don't remember anybody praising Halo or GTA Vice City ports because they ran like shit back then either. A bad port is a bad port.

>AMD Dumbots

How come these lists never have some sort of price tag on the cards?
It is very relevant to know the performance related to price when deciding what card to buy.

>tfw bought a 390X for $200

Even though the performance isn't amazing it's nice knowing I'm only 7 fps behind the $450 GTX 1070

Comparing the performance of a single game is not exactly the right way to chose a card anyway.

This is meant to estimate how well the game will run on your current rig. You're not going to build a PC solely to run this game, are you?

Runs buttery smooth 60 fps on my Sapphire 290.

Textures to very high, Shadows high.
Motion blur, Chromatic abberation and bloom off because it's shit.
Everything else on.

Of course not based on one game but it beats having to look up the price of every individual card to see how well it runs a game you might play in the future, more information is never a bad thing.

Yeah but that's tricky to do, it varies between countries etc... And it will be outdated very quickly anyway. I can understand them not bothering with that.

Fucking this. Mankind divided doesnt even really look better than Crysis 1 and runs 3x worse.

>1070 cant even hold 60 @ 1080p

How are they so incompetent?

>
>Mankind divided doesnt even really look better than Crysis 1 and runs 3x worse.

I hope you don't really believe this.

Don't post those pre rendered bullshots from Google image search or everyone will laugh at you.

Damn, so you need a Titan X to play the game maxed out at 1080p. It better look fucking gorgeous.

Crysis was shot on from day one for having ridiculous system requirements and running like shit on 99% of then modern computers. It became a joke of the industry, and was pirated en masse to be used as a graphical benchmark.

>disable CHS
>disable temporal AO
>33% higher average fps
>50-60% higher minimum fps
next time use a real tech review site not run by morons.

forgot pic

Woah, you mean that removing some post-processing options improves the framerate? Thank you for pointing that out user.

So I can almost max it out with my 290X?
That's sweet.

you are also only 7fps ahead of a $139 card

get fucked

>No games
>Shitty frames
PCucks on suicide watch!

Crysis didn't actually have ridiculous system requirements, it was full of all kinds of impressive technology that was understandably very taxing on graphics hardware.

The problem with Crysis wasn't that no one could run it, it's that no one could run on it's highest settings and that was just unacceptable for some reason I don't understand. Everyone could run it with a reasonable graphics setting, it was a scalable game. Crytek wanted the game to still look good years later and flat out told people not to expect to be able to run it at max on current gen hardware. John Carmack did the same thing with Doom 3 except in that case they recommended people run it at 640x480. Yes, they really did recommend people run a PC game released in 2004 at a resolution of 640x480 and it actually did still look good.

>290 beating both a 780ti and the original gangster titan

lol Nvidia.

>can't turn off mouse acceleration

literally hitler

It's actually comforting that the only complaint now is the low FPS that can be patched out fairly quickly. I can wait for that. Now if something was wrong with the gameplay...that can't be fixed.

>30 fps is bad

I still don't get what's so bad about it
