Console are only about exclusives now. They haven't been more convenient than PCs for almost a decade now.

I'll just wait for emulation. No point in playing games through this thing since they will still be on weaker hardware with no mods and now worse performance than the actual console.

No. The point is you can access your games wherever you are.

In Japan, the home console is becoming less popular because you quite literally have to be at home to play your games, unless you actually bring the system around.

Being able to access your games through a cheap laptop anywhere is likely to be a big plus for many people that would not otherwise have bought a PS4.

PS3 emulation is actually coming along pretty nicely. Games like After Burner Climax have already been shown at almost playable speeds (usually above 30 fps) with fairly minor graphical glitches: youtube.com/watch?v=MsuKQfsu-zk

If they start picking up speed the way Dolphin did, PS3 emulation could become completely viable in a year or two.

Microsoft managed to break that with Windows 10 anniversary. Just one more reason not to join the botnet.
