Dark Souls II has the worst, most boring and bland bosses

It's the worst game on all fronts.
>bloodborne has the hardest bosses
Is that Orenstein and Smough?
>he pretend to be a retard
get filtered faggot
except pvp. i'm not talking about soul memory and all that awful stuff, but the actual combat was more fun. it was much better when it came to that.
Fuck you, you have no taste. It is hands down the best Fashion Souls.
>implying cool looking bosses with no background or story is not bland or boring
It's at least on-par with DaS3.
3 was almost entirely linear, so while individual levvel design might have been a little better it plays out almost identically every time.
no it wasn't
stop spreading this retarded meme
>with no backstory
youtu.be
>no Sinh
Almost a perfect pic desu. Dark Souls 2, at least the DLC, has some of the best if not bosses in all the Souls games. Not from a lore/story perspective, but mechanically speaking and gameplay wise they're 10/10.
>vaati shit
lol, fuck off with that over analyzed shit
>2 dlc bosses and DeS call back
okay
the only good vanilla boss in DS2 is Velstadt
The only people who say this shit were backstabbers and exploiters.
They were good compared to Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls... But they're just standard for BB/DkS3.
I dislike DkS2, but I'm glad it exists because the bosses in subsequent games are much better now. There are a few other things (notably power stance was redeemed as tricking in BB and shove causing riposte state against shield block) that were improved.
DkS2 had to exist to be a testing arena for every batshit crazy mechanic and balance change they wanted to try.
no thats 3. which is linear as fuck, and has less than stellar variety.
it looks pretty, and level design might be slightly better than 2, but thats it. it falls flat on all other fronts.
2 meanwhile, had a surprising amount of flexibility. you had more than a few choices of path at the start, and literally anythying you could think of, could be viable. you had tons of weapons and outfits. ranging from something simple like a black knight greataxe, to a fucking soup ladle.
Level design in 3 was way better and almost all combat mechanics felt way smoother and more streamlined, while every texture looked much improved from every boring cubicle in 2
>literally 3 big dudes with big weapons
Yeah, REAL innovative buddy.
You realize he just copies theories from Sup Forums and /vg/ right?
>DaS3 is literally Bloodborne medieval edition
what always gets me is when people complain about too many humanoid/knight bosses, when nearly all of the best bosses in the games are humanoid/knights anyway.
>the ladle
truly the ghost blade of DaS 2
you think so? its just sped up DaS1 combat. and sword arts is really hit or miss, and many of their moves could just as easily have been R2's. theres no reason why the DSS lighting toss had to be a sword art and not an R2 like it was before. stuff like that.
moveset variety is just as garbage as DaS2, as well.
>2 from DLC
>the non-dlc was probably the easiest boss in the game
>all are humanoids
yeah sounds pretty shite
...
Am I the only one who thinks Alonne is harder than Raime? That delayed slice he does from a distance is hard as hell to dodge.
I'm saying just the actual swinging of the weapons and regular movement feel so much better in 3 than 2
I might be in the minority when I say that I actually think dark souls 2 is a terrible game. I know the consensus is that it's average at worst, and obviously there's a following, but besides for pvp (which I'm not too interested in) I didn't think there were any redeeming features, especially since every other souls game does such a great job at combining lore, great gameplay mechanics and excellent level design, dark souls 2 feels like it misses each of these
At least to me. I really couldn't finish it.
It's possible the reason I found Alonne easier is because I had to improve with Raime first, I'm certain the tables might turn if I had to fight Alonne first
You mean ds3?
>2 are DLC
>the other is one of the easiest bosses in the game
1
>here are 3 bosses that all fight pretty much the fucking same
I actually think it really hit the mark when it came to gameplay mechanics and lore. The level design didn't feel as fluid as the others in the series but there was more variety in the areas and it kept the game interesting. Atleast for me.
>proceeds to post 1 mediocre boss from the original game and 2 decent ones from a DLC
What exactly are you trying to prove?
2
>get to swamp
>beat swamp
>two paths
>pick one, it fucks up storylines of half the cast
>it's ok because the story lines are shit for everyone
>have to back track and do the other path anyway before proceeding because you didn't get the doll at the end of the path you didn't take
Why bother splitting paths in the first place if it's going to be like this, from?
3
I had way more fun with PVP in DaS1 to be honest. The actual areas themselves were prettier (somehow) and better designed and you could get matches in a much larger variety of areas.
In DaS1 you could get invasions in the Burg, Anor Londo, the Kiln, Township, the forest, etc. In DaS2 it was just that one bridge and the arena.

>m-muh humanoid dudes in armour, such shit bosses!
>Sup Forums continues to praise Vergil/Vorkken/Lumen Sage as the best bosses ever
yep, because the game at all is bad.
DaS 1 > 3 > 2 >>>>>> SotFS
You right
what you're pointing out is that they tried their hardest to rectify the shitshow that was vanilla ds2 with good dlc
as a day 1 buyer on ps3 the game was the biggest letdown of the series. 3 on pc was much better all the way through. I can't think of a certain point in vanilla ds2 where I felt like I was having fun
I had a lot of fun with two at release but that's because I was mostly doing invasions and arenaa pvp. The pve didn't get good until scholar imo.
Why are you bringing up bosses from an entirely different genre?
None of those bosses are comparable to the generic humanoid bosses in Souls games, or to any kind of boss in a Souls game for that matter.
Fucking hell shut up already you obnoxious cunt
I never got into invasions in 2 because I didn't see the point. you get tokens and I have no idea what the point of them is. In 1 you get humanity which is used as currency to level up the associated invasion covenants and humanity itself makes you stronger so it makes sense to invade as much as you can and try to win but in 2 it seems without any sort of aim.
It was probably why I was only invaded once in my 50+ hours of playing it on release
>they disagree with me. gotta be the same guy!
Don't embarass yourself, child.
oh, you wanted decent bosses?
That'll be $25 extra, goy
They are both pretty easy once you figure out how to dodge their special attacks (sword sweep/purple balls for raime and dash slash for allone)
>8 minutes to respond
This is the problem, not the bosses.
>Dragonrider
>Dragonrider x2
>Copypaste gargoyles
>Copypaste ruin sentinels
>Dragon Slayer
>Rat Vaguard
>The Rotten
>Covetous Demon
>Old Iron King
>Najka
>Prowling Magnus
>Ancient Dragon
>Vendrick
>Nashandra
It blows my mind how many terrible bosses they decided to throw into DS2. There were ordinary mobs in DS3 that were more engaging than these shitters, like the Outrider Knights or the Crocodile Demons.
Sorry I wasn't keeping a watchful eye on your stupid thread.
I actually liked the ruin sentinels. It was probably the first hard boss of the game.
Literally zelda cycle
You fucking faggots were shitting on DaS2 non-stop when it came out
Im playing dark souls 3 having pretty much skipped 2. I like the arts shit but i hate how a lot of weapons have literally the same moveset (worst offender being longswords) in da1 most weapons had at least a slight variation to make them feel more unique.
Why didn't you fall for the cycle?
Are you smarter than everybody else on Sup Forums
nope, it's exact contrary, people who like das2 pvp are the ones who came with PtDE and got chainstabbed into oblivion, in das2 they can do all their random twirling and backstepping with no fear of punishement so they like it
>mfw 3 of those bosses can be killed by spamming soul appease
>implying any amount of """"""lore"""""""" can make a shit boss engaging
GAMEPLAY > STORY
QUEER
I've only played Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, and Dark Souls 2, in that order, and I had the least amount of fun with 2. I don't know why or what about it made me dislike it so much, but I just couldn't stand to play it no more by the time I got to the end, I felt like I just rushed forth and got it over with. I mean, I even beat all of the non-DLC bosses as well, and I would have probably done more of the DLC if I had actually liked it, but it didn't keep me wanting more, I just wanted to be done with it and not look back.
Why are red phantoms allowed to chug estus, especially now thats almost unpunishable? In that fucking swamp i kept getting invaded by phantoms with like estus+10 and that fucking toothed longsword. Who thought this was a good idea?
you have twice the estus, the ability to summon up to 3 phantoms and the giant's seed
hosts have no rights to complain
2 is way worse than 1. 3 has 2 DLC supposedly as large as old hunters comimg so reserving judgement.
I'm conviced at this point that the only people who prefer 2 to 1 must have started with 2 or are awful waifu fuckheads who play with one hand on their dick
If Dks1 had 3's guardbreak riposte it would have the best pvp of any of the games by a fucking mile. If you complain about poise or twinking in 1 you're probably garbage and the kind of person who summons 3 phantoms to PVE
It's the horrible combat animations + generic level and art design
I dont want to summon 3 cocksuckers just to explore, i just dont want to get invaded by faggot twinks. Also doesnt matter how much estus do i have, and i only have like 6, if theirs heal 4 times more.
DaS > BB > DS3 > DeS > DS2
anything else is a meme opinion
Oh, I see the problem. You need to get more practice in with this game because you're truly terrible at it, tbqh.
And then there's the most deadly anti-invader tool of all: just fucking sprinting to the boss fog.
Unless your build is absolute gimp and has base stamina, there's literally nothing they can do to stop you.
So put on your Blue covenant, you whiny faggot
>no backstory
clearly you don't into dark souls lore.
try wearing veltadt's helm when you fight fume knight.
Then why are you playing online and embered up at all? The game makes it real fucking easy to opt out of invasions.
DS3 is too linear, hence DS2, despite all its flaws, is still better.
Quantity>Quality for Das II
Fallout 3 is longer, and not a direct sequel to Fallout 2. Still doesn't mean it's a better game.
Probably. I don't know, everything just felt more like a chore, and I didn't get much satisfaction after defeating a boss that had previously been kicking my ass, like I was more glad I was just done with something than be glad that I had overcome the odds and succeeded. Lucatiel and the cat are really the only characters I remember, and King Vendrick was the only boss I felt that gave me a fair challenge. I don't know if it's just something SotFS did, but being put into small rooms with like 2-3 bosses you previously fought isn't all that fun to me, that room in Drangleic Castle with all the stone statues that come to life is a good example of this.
I feel like the story is too far up its own ass too, like it tries to be deep but in the end it's as shallow as a puddle, and anything thought provoking was either nonsensical, or like Bioshock Infinite in the sense where if you think about it and piece it together, the entire thing is just a crock of shit.
DS3's level design is at least coherent, and doesn't do dumbshit like making you run through an entire area just to get back above ground.
>and King Vendrick was the only boss I felt that gave me a fair challenge
how was it a challenge? he had 2 fucking attacks and moved slow as sin
Sure, but way too linear.
At least his shockwaves were considerably less bad than other bosses shockwaves.
all I see is 3 dudes in armor.
DS1 had a sword wielding wolf and a giant teeth-vagina demon.
you value things differently than I do
this fucking shit made me rage so hard, in demon souls your characted could climb this shit easily, was it that hard? this is pure laziness
And Dark Souls 2 had... A guy in armor, and uh... a giant rat, and... a guy in armor.
>People actually think this boss is good
Most disgusting camera angles ive ever witnessed in a boss fight
DELETE THIS
Maybe
stop locking on, retard
Anyone have that picture of the DeS character with the huge nose? HR sent me a guy who looks exactly like that and I need to show my buddy the resemblance.
>Game 1 is the best because nostalgia googles
>Game 2 is the worst because didnt have game one nostalgia
>Game 3 is better than game two but not as good as game one because again nostalgia
Why is this always the case with Sup Forums
Wow never thought of that
The camera angle is shit regardless
>Flies above you
>Cant calculate where he is since he moves 95 mph
>Does massive AOE bullshit attack that takes out your entire hp bar instantly
>Retarded animation lock
>Get stabbed right when you get up
Heh...nothing personel kid
>Doing 1v1 in the little zone in darkroot garden with all the stone golems
Nothing in DaS2 comes close to it
I've never played DS1 and thought DS2 was shit.
he only does the AoE attack if you're attacking his feet like a retard
you retard
You forgot a set of armor on fire and a dude in armor under the rain
what about that half-scorpion lady that is totally not a rip-off of the half-spider lady from the previous game?
I'm genuinely curious how you came to that conclusion if you haven't played the first.
not him but the combat is simultaneously sluggish and weightless regardless of whether you've played the older games
Wrong retard
