i liked containment breach desu

procedure 110- Montauk simulator

Containment Breach on a better engine.

Selectively retcon or just drop 99% of the garbage they've come up with, or make a silly game with horror as a secondary focus.

Containment Breach with even more SCPs and not necessarily monster ones

>retcon
>something that is explicitly stated to have no canon
All you have to do is think "I don't like this" and it can be non-canon for you, user.

SCP manager

Basically a top down management game

Base the game around that stone thing that let's you enter mirrors, perhaps do something like WASTED where every trip is self contained adventure etc.

>no SCP game where the devs and other players can leave these messages like in dark souls

It's called Dwarf fortress.

what number was the red circle thing that was a key to another world where everyone was absorbed by gigantic bodies without legs?

I'd like a game about that world, I remember the entry bieng pretty good

This is a good idea. What engine would work for this?

093.

would be cool if it would be JUST the signs and you either learn them or need actual notes nearby

thanks

...

Shoulf have an SCP game like Dead by daylight. Get 9 tails unit players and one SCP player in maps where that SCP was found.

don't blink

Is it true if you try to blink one eye while keeping the ither open he kills you anyway for cheating?

Anything really.

I this thinking kind of Evil Genius inspired where you have SCPs to take care of in your compound and manage your personnel as well. They will of course, eventually breach and you have to deal with it ASAP before other SCPs get loose etc.

6 v 1 Scenarios

A random subject escapes and will be required to hunt and kill all SCP staff members.
Depending on the subject, you can maneuver through ducts, obtaining ID cards, or special abilities, or outright destruction. The facility communications are cut off by default, but can possibly be repaired later into the game. The subject can do further damage by destroying generators and oxygen supplies thus hindering the opposition.

Each SCP staff member is randomly assigned a job position at the beginning of the game. This gives each player unique starting traits, weapons and utility items, as well as different levels of facility access depending on their ID card. The staff's goal is to identify the subject, rally, and somehow contain the beast. Strategies could revolve around finding a player assigned as the security officer, getting access to the barracks, than arming everyone else. Some subjects could be immune to physical harm thus identifying the subject and relaying that information will be vital.

I really feel as though without telling us (the reader) what those things are or what they are doing it completely loses the sense of horror, ever since lovecraft was too lazy to describe his monsters every other faggot has followed suit.

Yes my friend did this and he ended up on a rekt thread

Replace the SCPs with lewd anime girls

>mfw
No shitposting please

The unknown is terrifying and intriguing, and when done well (Lovecraft does indeed do it well sometimes) it has the desired effect. The issue is most people just default to the unknown and it instead creates a fragmented, frustrating narrative with no cohesion and a lack of good bits.

Montauk is a great example. You know what it is, what they're doing, but they leave chunks of it out because they don't want to go into detail for whatever reason. It all falls flat on its face when an actual way to go about would be to just provide a list of materials used in the Montauk procedure, the number of personnel and a single sentence with cold instructions. Instead they keep adding and redacting and blacking out, and all it does is ruin the prose.

We already talked through this your retard

Have you read the retrieved artefacts' page? That kinda explains at least partially what those things are

Why do you need to know ever detail of something?
Lack of detail leaves room for imagination, when it comes to fear that's a powerful setup.

Yo this would be gangster as fuck

>No shitposting please
Have you shart in the mart today?

CARBON-BASED MONKEYS GO HOME

Is there an SCP based on that pic?

How did that meme come to be anyway

Someones suggestion
scp-wiki.net/scp-446
Closest thing that's an accepted SCP.

This by itself is much scarier than most SCPs I've seen.

I'm surprised it hasn't been done yet, it seems like a pretty obvious route to take an SCP game in since the logs and notes are all about researchers and specimens in a high security compound.

>That last one
Fuck...

Post your favorites

>STALKER meets SCP
>These symbols have enormous gameplay significance

I'd be all over that shit.
>not hostile if left alone
>it's standing right in front of something you require access to

I find this very hard to do consistently for over a minute. He'd probably fuck me up senpai

Mirror world is still one of the scariest SCP's to date.

stay strong, anons

I feel like a modded Space Station 13 server could work well for an SCP game.

Station members all spawn as workers in the foundation, whether they be researchers, directors, mobile task forces, etc.
You can even replace mining with say sending field agents to bring in new SCPs.

Antagonist players would either spawn as SCPs or the cult members from SCP lore or some kind of resesrcher infected with whatever SCP is there.

It would take some work but the potential is there.

There will be an actual SCP game announced in a few years. You're a site director and contain, secure and protect SCPs.

I would love to make a game based around this.
I'd release it with a physical (digital available) handbook with all the symbols and other advice.

There'd also be an obligitary sequence where you find a "Safe Place To Rest" sign and inside is a "Symbols Have Been Compromised" sign

Boiling concepts, and heavy ones at that, to just a single symbol is powerful and resonates with people. Like a skull, inverted cross, red x on a door, it speaks volumes in an instant, and impresses on the viewer a pure thought or emotion and let's us fill in the context.

I'd love stuff like this in a survival-thriller fps. Stalker comes to mind, but with 200% more horror of all kinds and alien geometry.

>room is half-light half-dark
>symbol says to stay in the light
>halfway through, you see 'symbols have been compromised' and 'someone else is here'

Also needs a don't give up with a don't be taken alive symbol shortly after moment too. Or vice versa.

>Notes that work like dark souls
>People just putting symbols have been compromised signs everywhere.

>There'd also be an obligitary sequence where you find a "Safe Place To Rest" sign and inside is a "Symbols Have Been Compromised" sign
I feel like this'd be more effective the other way around- you find a 'symbols compromised' in some hidden nook, then you come to a comfy room with a 'safe place to rest' symbol. Then a 'room clear' symbol. Then another room where the walls are completely covered with 'safe place to rest'.

>if the symbols are compromised, there's no guarantee someone else is actually there
>Might be a ruse to get you out of the light
>Might be a ruse to make you stay in the light
>Might be a SCP screwing with you before you get mauled anyway

173 sees the "you are being watched" symbol
GG EZ

>this user doesn't know about the 'retrieved artifacts' page

that story was really unnerving
one of the few SCPs that genuinely impressed me

sauce or bullshit

Thats exactly what i thought of when i saw that.
You could just write that everywhere for shits and giggles.

My favourite SCP.

I'd want this sequence to happen after the first 1/3rd of the game, where you've been using the "safe place to rest" areas properly... and this is a giant wrench in your game knowledge and you have no idea what to do.

I posted this last time someone made one of these threads, It's one of the reasons I'm trying to learn to make games. Is SCP in any way copyrighted, I don't really see how it would be, with it being a wiki, but there's always some litigious asshole

You play as the security/extraction team., sometimes you're securing an SCP on site, sometimes you're fighting against containment breaches, sometimes you're accompanying D-Personnel or scientists on an exploratory mission. Soldiers have personalities but they never take precedent, squads get torn and soldiers reallocated, so the pissy little recruit you had to endure in x operation suddenly becomes the hardened squad leader in your next one after he sees his squad get torn to pieces. The player shifts constantly between PoVs. No story, no nothing, just SCPs and the struggles to contain them and test their effects.

Nah, it's completely royalty free.
You surrender ownership if you submit an entry

lots of potential in that idea desu
>build an SCP compound, complete with crew facilities, security personnel, and containment measures
>manage and train crew for various tasks
>get missions from foundation directors
>missions involve sending out a team of agents to investigate and capture anomalies
>when they succeed, the target is brought to your base and you have to ensure that it is contained properly while also using your personnel to perform observations and experiments on it

there's a lot that can be done here i think

I'm not even remotely interested in SCP but this is a fucking amazing idea.

I thought it was much too ambiguous until you post it in a plaintext editor and find all the hidden messages. Then it became 10/10 material.

And even then there was some offshoot fanfiction about how Montauk sounds like rape, but we can't have that because that's just too terrible. Felt like the writer was trying to cheapen it, frankly.

scp-wiki.net/scp-2317

how can there be a sauce of something that hasn't even been announced yet

>view page info for 231
>"YOU CAME HERE LOOKING FOR SECRET MESSAGES, DIDN'T YOU? IT GRABS ONTO YOU, DOESN'T IT? THE FASCINATION. THE INTRIGUE. THE MYSTERY. YOU KEEP SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS. YOU'RE LOOKING IN THE WRONG PLACE" up at the top

These fuckers know.

Can't remember or find it but it's basically endgame. Something that's bound in chains that are decaying, 6/7 have already gone and the last one is close, the foundation know they can't do anything about it and cover it up. When it gets out everything is gone.

It's SCP-2317

I really liked the story as a concept but when you actually go to read it, it is painfully poorly written, like some high schooler's project for creative writing class.

Posting best SCP
scp-wiki.net/scp-1733

Don't forget the upkeep of a constant stream of fresh class-D personnel (read guinea pigs)

scp-wiki.net/scp-2317
This is legit one of the most chilling SCPs in the site. Also, I urge anyone that hasn't seen this to do so, it's very well done: youtube.com/watch?v=ph_sR51KBi8
English is clearly not his first language, so there's a couple of typos and dat accent, but it's alright since SCP is supposed to be a global effort.

Don't make it an SCP game. Come up with your own creatures/entities.

See: Spooky's House.

>Stay In The Light
>Stay In The Darkness
>Do Not Look Away
>Symbols Have Been Compromised
>Do Not Fall Asleep Here
>Do Not Be Taken Alive
Genuine discomfort.

scp-wiki.net/scp-686

Mostly because it's clearly just someones fetish, and it made me laugh.

>Don't give up
Oh

>it's a Sup Forums comes up with a great idea and then nothing ever comes of it episode

This shit was MADE for someone to see it and make a videogame out of it. Any studio, please, make it happen.

At least it isn't ending up as a quarter-baked early access scam funded by Kickstarter.

>enter area
>look at notes
>see two notes that contradict each other

So basically they grow rows of breasts?
Why stop there, why not just have the person grow into a bulbous mess of tits and keep growing until explosion causing death?
Why keep it PC, if you're going to insert your own fetish fuel at least keep going for the sake of covering it up.
>Oh no, they never get any worse than my maximum level of attraction. Too much is too much and this never gets out of hand.

>stay in the light
>symbols compromised
>dont know whether the SCP put up the stay in the light symbol or the compromised one to trick you

sheeeeeit

I hope another image gets made with a few more symbols to account for other phenomena.

Burn corpses
Use holy water
Ignore whispers
Follow whispers
Run through
Sneak through
Etc.

Not all SCP's are lethal, mind you. Not defending it either though.

I just find the idea that someones fetish is making people into human cows somewhat funny.

sounds like a /tg/ episode to me

It might not have put up either.

...

Yeah I know, but why does the milk just happen to stop before things get out of the persons fetish scope?

How did that one get in?

...

Don't talk shit m8.

I wish I knew. Its the only one I could really find that was extremely blatant.

there are worse fetishes desu

Is there a video game character who could kill SCP-682?

>sending all the bright eyed recruits in to test the capabilities and dangers of SCP

a cruel but necessary evil

The ending to this always chills me

explain

>survival horror game where you play as SCP agent during a breach
>multiple different colors of spraypaint denoting different NPCs that have been through area before
>suddenly find dead body holding blue spraypaint can with a blue "symbols have been compromised" spray next to him
>player has to figure out which color is killing off others/possessed
>game becomes a minor murder mystery while still being hunted by SPCs
Fund it

>At least it isn't ending up as a quarter-baked early access scam funded by Kickstarter.
Keep you're eyes peeled in the coming months Sup Forums! :)
