Crimson Shroud, Pushmo, Sakura Samurai

There are none worth the price. You're supposed to install a cracked OS and pirate everything you dip.

Mysterious Castle of Murasame.

It plays like a more technically-impressive LoZ.

>Crimson Shroud
Nice story telling; shit gameplay

>Pushmo
Good. Sequels are underwhelming.

>Sakura Samurai
Diamond in the rough

Is Rhythm Heaven worth it?

It's good if you like rhythm games or crazy Japanese stuff.

Ninja Battle Heroes

Cave Story

Is this actually good?

Yeah, I enjoyed it. You have to use the analog stick to move though, and the 3DS doesn't seem to be able to handle the final boss, the framerate was really choppy when I fought him.

Pushmo, Crashmo, Dillon's Rolling Western, Harmo Knight

I feel like I'm forgetting something though

Stretchmo

Shovel Knight

freeshop and fbi

I love the e-shop, I get to enjoy everything for the low, low price of free

>OP asks for recommendations
>lol I'm such a pirate
>lmao I'm such a pirate XD
>I like to not pay for things lel

nobody cares, post recommendations

This is Sup Forums, people here are extremely anti Nintendo even if it's just a game on a Nintendo system that isn't made by them.

>This is Sup Forums, people here are extremely anti Nintendo
I wonder why

BOXBOY, BOXBOXBOY, Pushmo, the Picross e series.

>mighty switch force
>azure striker gunvolt
>wii VC because physical prices are bullshit
>both steamworld games

Gotta Protectors
It's like a 2D musou with 100 unique stages, 2-4 player co-op, an in depth stage creator with 100 slots for custom stages, QR codes for sharing stages, and music from 80s and 90s Japanese video game composers.

pokemon picross

So long as you use a save editor to get effectively infinite Picrites Pokemon Picross is playable.

>From the studio that brought you Streets of Rage 2
>Koshiro doing music
I'm still hesitant. Protect Me Knight looked really shallow and repetitive.

brb, google

Mario 3D Land
Zelda ALBW
Shantae
Shovel Knight
Etrian Odyssey
Crimson Shroud
Friday Monsters
Weapon Shop de Omasse
Picross e
Mario Picross
Gunman Clive

I know why but the truth usually riles up a certain group on here.

Is this game actually good??
I've seen this post like four times already

All the Sega 3D Genesis ports are fucking amazing, especially Out Run, Sonic 2 and Gunstar Heroes.

That horse racing solitaire game is surprisingly addictive, and the demo is long as fuck if you're unsure.

If you like 2D platformers then you've got tons of choices between Shovel Knight, DKC/NSMB, Chibi-Robo, Gunman Clive 1/2, Kirby, Shantae, Mutant Mudds, Cave Story and other shit I'm probably forgetting.

It is repetitive like musou type games, but they greatly expanded on it from Protect Me Knight
The stages are now much larger and span several screens. You have to go away from the princess and castle to destroy enemy generators.
They've added more characters, a ton of upgradeable skills with some shared between characters and other unique, and weapons to be bought and upgraded. In addition, skills are now leveled up within stages by spending gold dropped by enemies at the castle. Upgrading them in town between stages just increases their level cap.
The base game has four difficulties (easy, normal, hard, hell) with the latter two being locked because you need the upgrades from playing normal to survive. The map layouts are the same between different difficulties, but they add in more, different, and higher leveled enemies on higher difficulties.
There's also a DLC pack that adds FM music and 20 extremely difficult stages.

It's great.

Wario Land 3

I'm so disappointed they put this on 3DS. To coop you need 2 3DSs whereas on console you just need 2 controllers.

Shantae

Boxboy was pretty fun

Coop wouldn't work as well on consoles unless it was online because of the larger stages. It'd have to be split screen and there would also need to add a section on screen for the map.

The picrites to open up new levels was so heavy handed into making you buy them, it's ridiculous

That, and the "energy bar" in the top left to control your progress is bullshit too.

>haven't cheated at all
>played every day since release
>still haven't unlocked two areas, alt world, all the team slots, or any energy upgrades

I just gave in and dropped some money, which didn't feel as bad since I was getting so much play out of the game.

I'm tempted to get the Twilight Princess Picross, but I don't know if I want to drop all of my points on it, especially if it also has freemium shit.

Twilight Princess Picross was the only Platinum Coin reward I wanted when My Nintendo started up, but I had already hacked my 3DS at that point and didn't want to risk anything.

I'm thinking of just letting my Platinum Coins expire because Miitomo was just Tomodachi Life without content and none of the worthwhile rewards on My Nintendo are attainable through Platinum Coins.

>all your points
How have you not gotten 7000+ platinum coins?

Anyway, it doesn't have any freemium stuff but it has much less content than any of the Picross e games.

Mutant Mudds and Mutant Mudds Super Challenge are pretty good IMO.

All the Sega 3D Classics.
They are easily the definitive versions.
My personal favourites are Outrun, After Burner II and Fantasy Zone.

That version of Sonic 1 isn't the definitive version. Arguably not Altered Beast either if we're also talking about the arcade version and not just the MD version.

>I'm thinking of just letting my Platinum Coins expire
I hope everyone does this and Nintendo realizes no one wants any of the shit they have up for platinum points and that My Nintendo is a pile of garbage. I've still got over 3000 and I stopped bothering with Miitomo a while ago, there's fucking nothing worthwhile beyond the now-gone Wario Ware and Zelda Picross.

No, Nintendo, I don't want fucking Miitomo clothing, the only reason I ever used the app was to earn points for rewards, I don't want your fucking 15% off coupons for games I can get for less on Amazon. Let us convert these useless platinum points to gold, put up more game rewards for platinum points, do fucking something because at this point, if this is all I can expect from My Nintendo in terms of rewards, I'm not even going to bother sing it anymore once all my coins expire by early next year. You STILL can't register physical games either, so I'm not even earning any gold points when I actually do buy something.

Not eshop exclusive but it's a great rhythm game, albeit easier than the PS3/VITA games.

If you're a completionist to the point of masochism, get rhythm heaven megamix. Just know that it doesn't get challenging or good until like halfway through

>Japan gets the Kid Icarus anime shorts for 80 coins each

>everywhere else
>NOTHING

Can't find it on eur eShop...

>August's entire update was adding NOTHING to the list.
>Middle of August was just some Metroid clothes for Miitomo.
>Getting the outfits doesn't even get you all the colors, just one, so you need to spend 200 on each piece.

Sorry, Euro friend. It's not out in Europe yet.
The devs said they're working on it though.

Thanks, I'll wait then

>>August's entire update was adding NOTHING to the list.
I'm still angry.
I held off on grabbing Metroid Fusion and SM64 because I figured I'd rather see what the next round of games was.
Now I've got 180 coins with nothing to spend them on but fucking Pilotwings.

>shit gameplay
Git gud fag

Also, runny egg is platforming goodness.
Rage of the gladiator is ok,
And I enjoyed Demon king box for what it is

On top of the majority of shit prizes being Miitomo shit you don't want, they haven't even considered venues like exchanging platinum points for other freemium game passes like NIntendo Badge Arcade or Pokémon Shuffle.
They've been forgetting to actually add any discounts to the gold and platinum point selections too. Even when they do, they are discounts for much much older games. Oh wow, 30% off Picross E and E2? I beat those fucking years ago, what about E3 through E6?

You can get a finite number of Miitomo Drop tickets with an assload of platinum points, but who gives a damn.

They've had like 4 or 5 exclusive themes and most of them have looked awful, and the few digital rewards worth getting you'll have already collected.
Where the fuck are the Club Nintendo Picross titles? You can very easily rework them into My Nintendo Picross titles and release them.

I enjoyed Parascientific Escape Cruise in the Distant Seas. It's short. Like a moe version of Zero Escape with psychic stuff. If you do try it, use the "talk" function in the menu frequently, half the story is in those optional dialogues and they change frequently.

>Demon King Box
How the fuck did they get that released with that Google Translate tier translation? The fixed it eventually, but holy shit was it bad.

>Where the fuck are the Club Nintendo Picross titles? You can very easily rework them into My Nintendo Picross titles and release them.
They would literally just need to translate like five menus and they could release the Japanese ones, it's literally that simple and they're not doing it.

A little more than that.
There are a few puzzles that together spell out "CLUB NINTENDO", a few Club Nintendo graphics, and the names for each puzzles.
But yeah, there is so very little work to be done here.

>Tfw i forgot zombie panic in wonderland
I want to puff puff snow white

>People complained about Club Nintendo being complete trash
>My Nintendo is so much fucking worse and makes me miss Club Nintendo

Remember when everyone was hopeful that whatever was replacing club nintendo wouldn't be shit like CN was? somehow its even worse, good job nintendo

Steamworld Heist
Fairune
Legend of Darkwitch

They could also easily implement Days of Ruin from the JP Club Nintendo DSiware conversion they did.

I never had hope when they announced you could only get the expensive points by buying digital only which is the stupidest thing you can do on any console to begin with.

Its not like the story is any god desu senpai

It's astounding, I don't know how they managed to do it. At least with CN you could register physical games and rewards got swapped out every month so you could actually get something you might want. There's nothing worthwhile for platinum points and since gold only comes from digital purchases I'm not going to make I might as well not even use this shit.

The first game was on 360. It was perfect for local coop.

You also need to spend something like $60 or $80 for a $2 DLC which is asinine.

CN also had physical rewards, even if they were pretty shitty physical rewards.

How do you unlock the extra costumes?

The best eshop games are all old games

Steamworld dig and heist were fun

The first game only had single screen stages.
The stages in Gotta Protectors span several screens vertically and horizontally.

>Only got enough to get Gold for the last three years of its life since I hate spending more than $20-30 on games.
>Only got calendars.

That's another problem, the game reward pricing is fucked and the selection is all shit any "loyal" Nintendo customer would probably have. Who the fuck doesn't have Mario 64? Literally half of all Wii U owners already have MK8, why are you wasting fucking space with a 30% off coupon for that?

Even if I had gold points there's nothing there I even want that I don't have, and I'll only get one more shot at seeing something new before they started to expire because rewards only get swapped out every three months. No, we don't want fucking Metroid II for the dozenth time, Nintendo.

They're getting a physical Wii U release soon too, so is Fast Racing Neo.

store.nintendo.co.uk/games/wii-u/nintendo-selects-eshop.list?widget_id=314434

Which is pretty baller.

You have to beat the game in 1 continue iirc for each costume. Snow white is pretty OP but dorothy is a nightmare

The discounts are also only for the digital copy of the game which is even stupider.

Pokémon Picross

Well shit.
I recently did a playthrough as Dorothy and wondered why I didn't get anything, so that explains it.

Another big problem the scheme has is that by only honouring digital purchases, it can take forever to save up anything towards things you *might* like, but these prizes have surprisingly short expiration dates.

Also adding that you only earn gold by buying games, you do not get anything for buying play passes in titles like Nintendo Badge Arcade, or for DLC. That's fucked.

It doesn't help that you can just get 20% off any game at Best Buy and sometimes they already have prices lower than the eShop.

>shity physical rewards
EU one was sometimes cool.
We once had a Luigi gamecube controller in it, was tight.
I got pic related. Gaved it to my little sister as a birthday gift since she loves kirby. She is now 20 and still uses it, even though it just barly holds anything

>Europe again gets more physical copies of stuff
This is painful for me in the States. At least I can import Rhythm Heaven and play it in English thanks to you guys but no such luck on the Wii U since that doesn't have native region lock breaking yet unless you pirate.

I should've clarified, it takes longer to earn gold because any sane person will only buy digital games if they are digital exclusive. Retail digital is for maroons.

This game is like a 2d spiderman

This is actually a pretty neat little game, I beat it 100% and enjoyed it.
It's standard fare, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Any 3DS games with good exploration?

Been playing Monster Hunter and FE Fates a lot and I just want to play a game that isn't super linear. Any games where I can explore an area and do fun stuff?

You might love Xenoblade Chronicles. I guess overall progression is linear, but there is a shitload of world map to discover and sidequests to do.

>Most likely going to to buy the DLC for FRN on top of getting the physical version as well.
I just really fucking love this game.
Even in spite of how those chucklefuck devs fucked up the launch but at least they're making up for it.

Have fun user, i have everything and good times were had. Good luck 100% it

I wonder if that's due to developing for the 3DS. Smaller screen means you have to keep it zoomed making the map appear larger and have to scroll.

Liberation Maiden

the worst part is that you can't even give away coupons since they're immediately applied to your account

Compounded by the fact that the Wii U can't even hold these digital games in the first place, you have to use/buy an external HDD.

I already have two digital retail games from CN's blowout I can't even fit on there, why the fuck would I want MORE digital retail games instead of just buying the disc from Amazon for the same price?

Box Boy!
Box Box Boy!
Steamworld Dig
Steamworld Heist
Mercenaries Saga 2
Shantae series
Shovel Knight
Retro City Rampage DX
Rhythm Thief
Gunman Clive 1 and 2
Denpa Men 1, 2, and 3
Ambition of Slimes
Woah Dave!
Moon Chronicles

>get it on sale
No regrets. Voice acting was good, music was good, shooting was satisfying as fuck.

>external HDD.
You can just use a USB stick.
