I'm not always a fan of voice acting.
IMO, voice acting ruined the Megaman series. The games were great when there was no speaking dialogue, but then technology improved so they added voice actors who were all TERRIBLE. Their voices, lines and delivery were all just shit tier. The worst though was Megaman himself. He sounds like a prepubescent boy. It made it difficult to find him cool or tough anymore. Seeing MM9 remove all that shit was a godsend.

Having a little VA is fine, it's when they try to voice fucking EVERYTHING that it gets in the way. It makes them cut characters and events, trim longer dialogs to cut down on file sizes and hire a few shitty, cheap VAs to handle the sheer volume of work which ends up making the whole world sound like clones of the same five people.
The Baldur's Gate series handled it perfectly in my opinion; all the important story stuff gets quality voice acting and the rest is just good writers doing their thing without having to think about all that bullshit.
