What was the first thing that made you realise this game was blatantly unfished
Other urls found in this thread:
when i saw that they copy, pasted, and mirrored Quiet's foot texture. Instead of separately scanning each of joost's feet
Back up, Back down for sure.
That or when I was running around Mother Base and I couldn't go into any of the doors and I just found a whole lot of nothing.
Probably the biggest disappointment in years. I do not think I been more disappointed with a game after playing through half of it and starting to get the same fucking missions again. Mother Base lacking content, Lackin bosses, Lacking cutscenes, Story all over the place and so many lose ends and lacking in content at the end. What it could have been, It started fucking awesome. It should off had more indoor areas for old MGS feeling too.
What was wrong with Back Up, Back Down? That mission is fun as fuck. Especially first time when I didn't have the heavy cargo upgrade and rode on horseback with a rocket launcher for the whole thing.
Even though this game was hugely disappointing, it's still a 9/10 at worst and by far the best game of the generation so far. Kill yourself faggots.
First time I got into the open world and realized there was no point to it. I realized that it was put in for the sake of Kojima's ambition and not because it added anything.
>they could have made more detailed mission areas but they left blank desert and grassland everywhere instead
>Blatantly unfished
>Bad bait or bad hand motor skill there sperg
Okay, boss. You're supporting this big epic insurgent operation that you don't get to see. Kill these vehicles in a section of the map you've already been through. It's a really intense battle though, trust me.
The sad thing is you might not be joking
That has nothing to do with "cut content". I bet you're one of those people who blames EVERY issue this game has on cut content despite every fucking game having content removed, and the only part of the game we have definitive proof for being cut is one mission at the end.
Remember, Sup Forums, a game not living up to your personal expectations does not make it bad.
It feels like a great game engine with no content
Ground Zeroes was better because it was intricately designed, not a vast vista of brushland
There must have been areas of development which were a waste of time
I guess maybe losing motherbase and having a linear story structure with more variation/content would have been way better
Let us find blueprints to develop weapons but ditch all of the motherbase/crew/resource management
Game saying one thing, doing another is either being lazy, out of time or cuting things.
Yeah this one
>shit tier main waifu
but it's not saying one thing and doing another. You're supporting the insurgents who are elsewhere. It's not that hard to fucking understand.
Nowhere in any post was the term cut content used. You are making up an argument that I did not use in order to disprove a point I never tried to assert.
literally unplayable.
20 hours in, and only fought 1 boss
When by the end of Afghan, the only interiors you go in are the hangars at the military base.
I knew it would happen when Ground Zeroes had like no interiors too
the lack of boss battles about 10 hours in
Lack of cut scenes with meaningful dialogue, and the liberal use of those stupid tapes. Without those tapes you miss half the story.
except for the post that you're replying to, and the original post of this thread numbnuts.
>No Mujahideen
That was clearly never planned though, Ocelot even says the area is under total soviet control way back in the 2013 trailer even.
You're confusing console limitations with unfinished, a game like MGSV could never fucking handle major conflicts because of PS360. Also probably the reason mission 51 got cut, too demanding.
when beating chapter 1 had a credit roll
Unfinished is not cut content.
Even though this bugged me, what gets me is that every single civilian in both gameplay regions of Afghanistan and South Africa have been evacuated and there's never anything special happening outside of side ops. After MGS4 made a big deal about its first two chapters having faction warfare, MGS5 doesn't even bother - all the enemies are basically the same people in different outfits and languages who all happen to share alertness no matter where you go.
For fuck's sake, despite the opening of Ground Zeroes, neither game even has enemy hounds despite concepts for Phantom Pain showing they considered it. They could've just reused the wild dogs with different models and made them allied to guards at outposts/bases. Even the Walker Gears just sort of appear and are extraordinarily limited to specific op situations, and the non-combatants you find are all hostages that you can kidnap who happen to all be soldiers, doctors, engineers and spies.
There's Metal Gear's zaniness or willing suspension of disbelief, and then there's an empty, bland open world where the most dynamic things of wild animals and weather are barely notable most of the time. A bland world where most of its animals can only be captured with cages as 2D images for a completion rating, not a single genuine civilian exists anywhere, and there's absolutely no heart or soul to any of it. Especially Africa.
when i realized Snake had like 5 lines the entire game.
I loved the game until I noticed that it couldn't show more than 10-20 bullet shells for each ammunition. After that I uninstalled the game and traded it for one game dev tycoon trading card
They removed tons of recorded dialog though
Sure thing, but then it is a very fucking secure zone of Afghanistan we are in while they fight in others.
>Boss, get down! It's the enemy sniper.
Still cost more to get Keefer for those five than it did to get Hayter for the previous four games.
Actually, rumor is that Hayter got shafted because he thought he was irreplaceable and started demanding more and more money for each installment.
Kiefer Sutherland has had a falling out with Hollywood because of his alcoholism and I wouldn't be surprised that this was a role that was a relatively big deal for him and a chance at a bit of redemption.
>A stylistic choice to differentiate Venom from Big Boss and allow the player to project into him, something Kojima has stated was the intention from day 1
>means the game is unfinished
Hayter has admitted that Kiefer might have been cheaper in the end. Hayter got like 1.2 million for MGS4 as he gets paid per session, Kiefer probably had a flat fee of around $500k.
Kiefer was a gorillion times better than post-MGS2 Hayter and you know it.
Hayter was demanding $1.2 million, Kiefer did it for $300k
I honestly don't know what came over Hayter, it would only have been a few days work.
Exploring Africa in free-roam directly after completing the Mfinda Oil Field mission. I played on PS3 so it was all dark and drab grass with a draw distance of about 20 metres.
I explored a bit but it struck me too much as Farcry 2 and I really just sped through the game after that using D-Pupper.
>I honestly don't know what came over Hayter, it would only have been a few days work
He started liking the smell of his own shit, that's what happened.
People kept telling him his voice was so iconic as Snake that he thought he was untouchable. Funny since this is the man who gave up half his paycheck or something to get back the original cast for Twin Snakes, but pride and greed does funny things to people.
Hayter doesn't sound like a real person after MGS2. MGS3 was my first game and hearing Snake talk for the first time sounded so weird. It was not a natural voice.
I would have prefered Richard Doyle. He was alright as Big Boss.
The end of the first mission when the "I'm already a demon" line was POORLY delivered.
At that point I knew this was on the wrong path.
>Kiefer Sutherland has had a falling out with Hollywood
It was right around LAD, Kiefer was big.
Plus he's a pirate
>MGS4 warzone
>war is clearly going on between two armed forces
>MGSV warzone
>war is clearly going on between a guy and an armed force
...
>Coming into africa for first time
>Pass over so much forest
>Land in a river and go through a jungle area
>TFW the jungle area is just a small corridor ends after about 80m
>The rest is grassland
Also it did feel like FarCry 2 lite with that airport at the bottom of the map.
Not so much a case of cut content but I was pretty disappointed with the mother base management, I really enjoyed it in PW as it was always something to come back to after a mission, but it just feels like such a ham fisted mess in PP compared to PW
>It was right around LAD, Kiefer was big.
>Plus he's a pirate
I did not understand what you meant by either or those sentences.
>>It was right around LAD, Kiefer was big.
Mgs project was around the time Kiefer stared in 24: Live Another Day wich was a huge succes
>>Plus he's a pirate

>wah wah why didn't big boss become a demon
even in MG1 and 2 where you memers say he was supposedly a bad guy he was pretty fucking good.
he saved the outer heaven resistance, his own fucking enemies, and gave some of them like Schneide safe haven in zanzibar land.
>but he's totally evil! he wants perpetual war!
he was already doing that by Peace Walker and you didn't think it was evil there.
which is why TPP isn't necessary
>Paz!
>Paz...
>Paz?

When the story arch actually ended with mission 31. I thought it was going to be some twist that launched the plot to new direction (Cypher or something).
Instead we just got few unsatisfying alt endings to subplots that hadn't even developed.
I just wanted a game that cleaned the mess that was left like MGS4. I thought the plot would be at least as well executed as Peace Walkers. inb4 "hurr the story leaves you with phantom pain"
