Any games out there that can make me feel loved, fellow anons?
Preferably not in the visual novel category, if it can be avoided. I'd like something with actual good gameplay - Maybe an RPG - But that features an element of the story where someone just really loves your character and shows it.
I lost my girlfriend about a year ago. She passed away. Ever since my life has sort of just been on pause, and I've been a mess. I just want to feel loved again, even if it won't be the real thing. Please help a desperate user out.
dragon's dogma your pawn secretly loves you the ending is heartbreaking
Justin Lewis
There's tons of others but they usually kill off the love interest to make the main character do stuff.
Christopher Martinez
Xenoblade lacks the self insert that gets loved though
Matthew Brooks
Rune factory Riviera Persona 3/4
Josiah Bell
The Witcher games. Love triangles, prostitutes, and sterility, oh my.
Jonathan Barnes
final fantasy x.
though let's be honest vn's are really the only things that will love you.
Blake Hernandez
I will look into this - Seems interesting. Thanks.
Are any of these games available on the PC?
I haven't actually played any of the Witcher games, and they are on Steam Sale right now. First game is like a dollar. I will pick it up.
What Visual Novels can you recommend, then? It's definitely still an option - I just have a hard time focusing lately if it takes a long time to get to the cutesy parts. I have played Katawa Shouju already, as well as Kana, Little Sister.
Austin Hughes
Play the Megaman Legends games holmes
Andrew Campbell
For VNs: Wanko to Kurasou Yume Miru Kusuri
David Perry
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
Alexander Turner
>Are any of these games available on the PC?
Persona 3 and 4 can be emulated but they might not be what you're looking for
you can date some of the characters in those games but they'll only acknowledge the relationship when you spend time with them after maxing out the s.link. Outside of these events the relationship doesn't exist. There's no gameplay involved in doing all that either. At that point you might as well be reading a vn.
Cooper Wright
Undertale honestly, if platonic love counts. You never specified if you only wanted romantic love. Just stay away from the fandom though, it's shit.
Julian Richardson
All of those can be easily emulated.
Adrian Gray
This, every word of it.
Game is wonderful, but my god the people that still talk about it are top tier cringe.
Jack Harris
I really liked EarthBound as a child and have heard that there is some similarities, so I'll look into it. Platonic love is okay - I just want to FEEL something again.
Hudson Harris
De nada, but Megaman Legends should come first
Jack Gutierrez
I'm with you 100%. That's how I felt (and still feel months later) but while playing this game it actually coerced me into feeling some emotion. It's good stuff.
Hunter Campbell
>I just want to FEEL something again. Undertale will do that for you then. It's only about 5-6 hours of gameplay but it has plenty of surprises up its sleeve that keep things interesting.
The pacifist ending certainly made my eyes glassy.
Tyler Peterson
Love Plus, but it's really fucking scary.
Angel Ramirez
Is there any game that has you determine the outcome of a relationship and can have you build up a friendship until you are lovers? Preferably rpg
Daniel Jackson
Love plus.
Rinko a best. A BEST
Bentley Wright
Agarest: Generations of War.
However, it's not that good of a game. The combat is quite repetitive, the romance is rushed, and the game takes place over five generations.
What that actually translates to is that the Waifu you choose with your first character will determine what kind of son you will have for your second generation, which then becomes your new protagonist, and the cycle sort of begins anew. It's a cool concept but it feels very strange when you finish one generation and all of a sudden most of the characters you played with disappears and you have to get to know new characters from scratch, with a new protagonist that you helped created with your virtual semen.
Joshua Fisher
Do they look different and have different personalities and abilities depending on who I wife-fu?
Kayden Morgan
Lol what. My pawn is gay?
Brandon Morris
Baldur's Gate 2: Shadow's of Amn.
It's a kickass epic rpg with 3 romance-able NPCs. 4 if you install the Imoen romance mod. They all build up from friendships to lovers in a very gradual and realistic fashion, and you'll be having loads of fun with the battles inbetween as long as you picked a decent class for your MC.
Jaxson Hughes
Oh yes. The difference in appearance is quite small - I guess it was just easier for the development team that way, to design them so that your first male protagonist gives them most of their features and then they take the genetic traits like hair colour and eye colour and such from the Waifu you banged.
However, when it comes to the abilities and stats, the Waifu plays the dominant part. If you sex up a sorceress you're likely to get one of your own, or at least a magic knight if your previous male protagonist was a fighter type. Exactly how much they like or love you also determines their stat growth and which primary weapon type they prefer to use, the stats of your protagonist and your Waifu from each generation matters I believe (you determine stat growth with each level up for all characters), and there's a few other factors that influence it as well. However, I don't recommend using a guide to make the 'perfect child' - Go with the girl you like most for your first playthrough. More fun that way.
Parker Scott
who the fuck his this semen demon? a NPC mod?
Jason Torres
That's Imoen. She may look good (with mods) but as soon as she opens her mouth..
Imoen? She's the PC's half-sister and childhood friend, and a crazy group of modders made her into a romance option too. It's surprisingly well-written and adds loads of fun banter to the game.
Samuel Butler
soo... is this a custom portrait or what? I never seen this around anywere else.
Angel Rivera
>is this a custom portrait Yeah. That's my favourite one, but it's custom. Her BG1 portrait is shit but at least her BG2 portrait is decent.
Sebastian Collins
Yes. Custom portraits are very commonly used in Baldur's Gate since there are so many to choose from online. (Standard D&D PC game format and size)
Austin Phillips
Now I understand, I never used custom portraits in my run, I find them kind of silly.
Ian Jones
Fair enough. I think the modding community has ultimately turned Baldur's Gate from a 9/10 into a 10/10 game desu.
Michael Thompson
I agree with your statement. It's kind of sad that it's been dead for years.
Dominic Thomas
That's why it always amuses me when retards call Persona dating sims.
Only a small handful of characters are lavu fodder, and even then, only when you're at at least rank 8.
The social link mechanic is for fucking character development, a literary device that people used to appreciate.
That, and unlocking stronger Persona fusions.
A lot of the most interesting social links aren't even relationship characters.
Granted, the cancerous "waifu" portion of the fanbase doesn't help matters.
Nicholas Garcia
Wjhy don't you try to get a gf like a normal person it's not that hard bruh just be yourself

I already found my soulmate.
I don't expect you to understand but when you find the perfect girl for you and you are happier than you have ever been, and then that's suddenly taken away from you because she dies, it just.. It changes you. I really struggle imagining myself with anyone else than her.
Brayden Torres
That's fucked up. I don't know what to say.
Andrew Baker
I dream of her almost every time I sleep. Many days I just don't want to be awake at all, because in my case, life really pales in comparison to living the dream..
David Bell
... and I was even joking about 3d. Fuck, I'm sorry if it's real
Justin Harris
I feel like she was my purpose in life. I had other dreams and passions and future plans before I met her, but once I found her and fell in love with her, none of that really mattered too much anymore. She just consumed my world. She was my everything.
But I know that she wouldn't want me to just stop existing. It's been a year now. I need to somehow become less numb, to start talking to people again, and to find things to care about and engage in. That's why I made this thread. Don't worry about joking around though - It doesn't hurt me or anything.
Lincoln Carter
I'm not sure vidya will help you user, hopefully time will. If you want to give VNs a try regardless, try Steins;Gate, Umineko or Ever17, they should make you feel something. Good luck
Blake King
Time has not helped so far, but who knows..
I don't think I will ever be able to 'get over it and move on', but I simply want to be able to live and function like a basic human being, and so far I am doing a terrible job at that. Video games might not seem like a step in the right direction but considering I've spent most of the last year just sleeping or staring into a wall, just withering away and becoming more and more numb, it's a big step for me - especially if I can get an emotional reaction out of it. Thank you very much for your suggestions and for wishing me luck; You're a good person.
Ethan Edwards
Not him and not to sound as if I'm giving you a general platitude but perhaps you need hobbies and preferences involving other people, preferably in a 'real-world' setting, if only for the distraction it can provide.
Angel Morris
No, I agree - I just don't think I'm ready for it yet. One step at a time. I seriously haven't spoken with anyone properly for months now. I even started ordering my groceries online so I don't have to leave the house. But I do understand it's not healthy and that I need to break these patterns over time.
Charles Bailey
Right. Solitude is only going to create more within-dwelling and complete total focus upon all of your troubles and woes. If you dwell upon something, solitude is potentially the worst method of circumventing that since any external distraction would do wonders in helping.
Joseph Sullivan
>this entire thread I was thinking OP was just another tfwlenogf /r9k/cancer >actually someone who lost something
I don't know what I can do to help you.

You could have realized that by reading the OP itself, baka.
Adrian Thomas

This is shitpost central. You don't need to read anything here

>GF dead like a fly How useless are you for having your GF die on you? Could you not get a clue and prevent it?
Asher Ross
Yeah. I bet he missed the huge "PRESS X TO NOT LET THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE DIE" prompt in the middle of his screen,
Ryan Flores
Reading this thread. The OP must be a jokester and you are all falling for bait. How can one faggot be so clueless about well known games? Never played any of the Witcher, "Wut is Persona" and so on. Crossboarding faggot.
Leo Perry
>Baldur's Gate 2: Shadow's of Amn Viconia is the best romance, but it doesn't exactly have a happy ending, so I feel like that's a bad idea somehow. Aerie's sort of a whiny bitch at times but is otherwise great, and Jaheira is - I liked her at first but on hindsight I'm just not into widows. Imoen's great though, as long as you don't mind the taboo.
>Preferably not in the visual novel category, if it can be avoided. I know you want a non-VN, but you should probably check out Katawa Shoujo anyway. It's far better than it has any right to be considering that's it's free and was made for free by anons. Emi's route is really inspiring, Lilly's is cinematic, Hanako a cute, and Rin is somehow both vulnerable and independent in the right kind of way.
Brody Taylor
omg I always miss those stupid qtes
>anyone who hasn't played my favourite game is a noob Nah fuck off cunt.
Jack Jackson
She was sick. We tried everything we could, but eventually the disease overtook her. I would have done anything to prevent it.
I used to play a ton of games many years ago, but after I found my soulmate I just didn't have the time anymore. We were together for six years, and it's been a year since her passing, so for the last seven years my gaming experience has been very limited or super casual things we could play together. (She enjoyed Terraria, Mario Party, and Portal 2 co-op a lot.)
Jacob Brown

>not willing to play VNs for the thing you are asking for Maybe you should just get an escort, I heard they can do GF roles pretty well if you got the cash. And did you date a cancer patient or what?
