It's shit.

This and Ragnarok online are games that I keep coming back to every year

I preferred Diablo.
I wasn't a fan of Diablo II.
Have yet to play Diablo 3.

hey reddit-chan

...

>addiction simulators

unironically, seek help

...

...

disgusting

Spot the autist. Seriously, this has never been even remotely entertaining.

...

Rakanichu

I wanted to play Diablo 2 last night but I didnt.

spot the autist?
oh is it the guy who refuses to recognize a good game because its "not muh 2 HD"
yeah, wow, that was easy

Stay a while, and listen

bait

I wonder if the Diablo II HD rumors will amount to anything.

Who /javazon/ here
>mfw lightning fury

>diablo 3 wasn't good because it wasn't more of 2
no diablo 3 wasn't good because every single character played the exact same, among other things being shit

Tfw diablo 3 music is so fucking shit. Why Sup Forums ?

I wish there could be some kind of modernized port of Diablo 1. I want to play it again but fuck me is it hard to look at now. Literally.

[citation needed]

>[citation]
play the fucking game

My weekend will consist of me playing diablo 2 all day, gotta get my necro to lvl 99

Fap to amazon
Fap to sorceress
Fap to Andariel

/median/

Smoke me a kipper.

>not fapping to Spear Cats.

Word is torchlight is remade diablo but after lookng at it it completely misses the art style mark... is it good? I've been on Grim Dawn for awhile now.

Diablo 1 Rogue>Diablo 2 Amazon

path of exile > any diablo game
its fact
if you disagree you need to wipe your nostalgia glasses from your pink fat

>diablo 4

>diablo 2 artsyle inspiration through 3d
>diablo 1/2 music/atmosphere
>diablo 2 synergies and bosses
>diablo 3 gameplay
>diablo 2/3 loot systems
>diablo 2 random generation
>diablo 1/2 story and writing

This will never happen

>one build: the game
yeah no

>Diablo 2 was the epitome of Diablo as a horror game.
>Lord of destruction was the short non-horror epic ending to the saga.
>Diablo 3 followed Lord of Destruction's ideas, but fucked up with style, gameplay and pretty much everything they could.
>endless stamina
>not dark enough
>3dpd
>Music not as immersive
no.

It's pretty good, there's some good mods that make the atmosphere a bit more darker if the goofy look is too much. Pretty basic but still pretty fun.

Same for me. The shortcuts back to down in Diablo were better than the waypoint system in Diablo II. Stamina in D2 was just kind of annoying having to manage. I wouldn't say I wasn't a fan of D2 though, but liked the original more.

When I heard D3 was going to have an auction house, I knew it was going to be awful so I didn't have any interest in playing it. Turned out I was right.

I thought PoE was okay. Then after I built a character, they patched the game and made it useless.

I don't really like how much time and effort you have to put in to just planning a character.

poe sucks after you complete the acts. mapping is boring garbage and just gear checks

>I read forum posts from 3 years ago mean I have played the game for thousand hours
Here your (You)

there was actually some mod called "belzebub" something or another. supposed to be diablo HD with other modernizations look for it

D2HD announcement at Blizzcon. Get hype

...

All of them are shit. Nostalgiafags just can't accept it.

(you)
>stamina
how was it anything but a huge annoyance
>not dark enough
its exact same amount of "dark" as d2 if not more
>3dpd
well nobody draws quality 2d sprites anymore, time to move on, at least it doesnt look like grimdawn or d3
>music
ill give you that, there are only like 2 or 3 decent tracks, rest are total shit
still better endgame than diablo, plus new expansion for mapping is coming in two weeks
>made it useless
its literally just a free respec

nope, builds still have the same paths and concepts which is stack health and/or energy shield. the passive nodes are simply false advertising the complexity and depth of the game. they exist only to fuck up the build of new players

You can see Andariel's titsf if you look at the Sprite close enough

>What is MOM with mana stack build
>What is Armor.eva builds
>What are keystone that change your play style completely
>What are unique that you need to make a build around them

>>What is MOM with mana stack build
not relevant anymore

>What is Armor.eva builds
worthless. you either stack armor and get iron reflexes or just pure evasion while running a lc, fortify and a basalt

>What are keystone that change your play style completely
completely overstated. they often don't change your play style completely. they just specialize the way you're already playing. most keystones aren't even used because they are worthless

>What are unique that you need to make a build around them
most build enabling uniques are too expensive and are meme builds

That's not true anymore. You can use tons of different skills and pathing through the tree because powercreep made the game easy as shit, and next league will be easier still.

>worthless. you either stack armor and get iron reflexes or just pure evasion while running a lc, fortify and a basalt
>most build enabling uniques are too expensive and are meme builds
These 2 confirm you have never gotten to the red maps and left the game before the drop rate buff (inb4 1ex is too expansive to get)
And nope, MOM build is still relevant, its just less powerful than before.
>completely overstated. they often don't change your play style completely. they just specialize the way you're already playing
So if im a newbie, I dont know shit about the game, I have 1 free point, I take Avatar of Fire because it look cool, now my freeze pulse has half dps and now I need to remove all the +% to ice damage to fire damage is not game changing at all ?

Andariel got me into monster girls

i have run red maps and the game isn't challenging. it's just gear checks

That skill was so broken, I love it!
Was just running around with a white set of javelins all the way to end of Hell, with some backup for lightning immune ofc.
The flat damage on it was beautiful, and bigger the pack, the better the chance of 1shot.

>Loved:
PoE and D2:LOD (+MXL) and TL2 (+synergiesmod) (~2k hours each minimum)

>Played:
Sacred 1,2
Titan Quest: IT
Diablo 1
Torchlight 1
(and its predecessors)
Dungeon Siege 1,2
Van Helsing series + Victor Vran

>Playan:
Grim Dawn right now, trying out leveling in Crucible from lvl1 with a friend, its fun.

Am I missing something? Cmon man, you can tell me, I need my fix...

Spiral Knights. Kinda... It's pretty neat but also shit at the same time.

...

i'll be back for breakfast

>tfw no DC ARPG and Turbine caused IC to shut down.
suffering.

Divine Divinity I think you'll enjoy. It looks like shit in some preview screenshots on GoG, but it's pretty fun.
Maybe Nox? Haven't played that one myself though.

This game had the best atmosphere of any game

prove me wrong

Protip: We can't.

youtube.com/watch?v=ET7OEgRgwPU

...

this too, plenty of games better at atmosphere than diablo

You should all try Deathtrap, not many people know it exists

>not using the charged strike trick to instagib people from 40 yards away

We can keep going, user.

This one comes closest. I'd also make a good point for Amnesia.

Diablo 1's atmosphere mostly comes from it's great use of lighting or it's absence of it, particularly down in Hell where the only lighting in the corridors is the small amount surrouding you and the spells cast by you and the enemies. The music is also just downright disturbing down there.
youtube.com/watch?v=Yul_AGm-7GI

Why is D3 such a piece of worthless shit?

Shouldn't there be some sort of limit how badly you can fuck up the itemization and character progression? In D3 I don't think they've even reached the bottom yet.

diablo 1 nailed the atmosphere a lot better and liked how it was also a lot harder, the constant backtracking was fucking tedious with the character's slow walking. Exploring felt like misery because you knew you will have to walk back for minutes if you end up in a dead end. It was a huge reliefe playing d2 again and just running around smashing fallen ones.

Run Atziri and Uber then
They are pure skill check, unless you are heavily geared you can not facetank 1shot of those bosses.

Ill check those 3 out, danke schon.

itemisation is fucked but im ok with the character progression. Skill anyway. Stats shoulda been assignable if you get points for level ups.
Nice to try out new skills depending on the stuff you find and also saving hours on whether or not your build is total ass.
Runes really did a lot for it too, good variety on some skills

>this one comes closest
nigger how are the other two games not at least ten times more atmospheric? diablo has about as much atmosphere as quake. it is atmospheric but its not THAT atmospheric and by your second playthrough that atmosphere is completely gone

The 1 problem I hate in diablo series is the stat focusing build.
It limits the posibility in builds and is generic as fuck.
This make Grim Dawn And PoE better in term of build planning and theorycrafting.

>Stats shoulda been assignable if you get points for level ups

You get like 5 points, combined, when you level up.

At level 70 that's 350. One piece of armor has almost triple of that.

That's why I'm saying that the whole itemization is complete and utter shit. It's just a clusterfuck of OVER NINE THOUSAND of main stat and something something.

I guess it's just personal opinion. Diablo gives me the same tense feeling every time I play it, which Diablo 2 does not.

Also I never played TIE fighter.

Diablo had the greatest feels as far as the overall game was concerned. Everything felt like it was in dire need of help, it had a false sense of urgency which was well executed. From talking to Griswald about the Butcher.. To everything I can't remember. I loved exploring every corner of the hub town, and trying to connect dots together that never belonged.

Diablo 2 quickly followed suit, adding the ability to run, really changing the dynamics of the combat with additional directions, and a vast amount of skills with different speeds, following capabilites, and spreads. The game felt really open in comparison to the first one, with 4 +1 acts to explore, all with a bigger hub than the first one. Except Act 4, I guess. But damn. The fact you could go through the portal and see Tristam destroyed, and in ruins. With towns people dead, or zombied up and shit. It was truly epic.

Diablo 3 completely dropped the ball. Looking more like a top down WoW game with cool down spamming to boot.It was a devastating blow, the cheesy plot twists, hurr the knight and the witch had a baby and now she's evil from Diablo, yadda yadda. What a fucking disappointment.

IMPORTANT QUESTION
I plan on buying the diablo 3 and reaper of souls . I decided to wait and see what the game would become after a few years and its become something I more or less like.
I want to play a barbarian and a specific heavy belt caught my eye called Dread Iron.
The wikia says that its a season 3 exclusive that I missed out on but then continues to state that it drops for normal characters as well since that Season ended.

THE QUESTION
If I buy the game now, will this heavy belt have a chance of dropping?

Yep.

So the way I understand it is that season exclusive items can drop after the season has passed and that seasonal characters get to use them earlier than normal ones, that's it?

Making Diablo 3 moddable would fix everything.

Correct.
Season exclusives were exclusive for that season only. And they've phased out exclusives completely now.

moddable Diablo 3 would be a fucking god send in ways noone can imagine.

>MORE COOL DOWN ABILITIES TO SPAM IN A ROW

Thanks for clearing things up for me man.
I would have bought this game months ago but the lack of clear answers anywhere really put me off.

As soon as a map randomiser comes out its p good.
The caves suck shit in D3, a loop on F1 and floor 2 is tiny as fuck. Though itd never work with the online only which blows

fuck that nigger, I'm talking about the good shit.
an item that lets me have the templar, scoundrel and sorceress follow me at the same time
more items that let me trigger skills on other skills
like, the stupidly fun shit.

It would seem like it'd be way more fun with lobbies.

Someone should mod Diablo 2 to make speccing and using multiple skills effective instead of just having to spam one over and over again for max efficiency.

What if they made a diablo game that played like serious sam?
inb4 borderlands, it's not like serious sam at all

someone should mod 2 into diablo 3 but with specific stuff changed or kept to create the true diablo 3 experience.

I waited too, even though diablo 2 is one of my favorite games.
Expect to pick it up for a reduced price. Shame that the story has pretty much been spoiled for me though but eh whatever.
I wonder which class is the most fun to play. Templar and Barbarian definitely look like the most "diablo" of all the classes.

Bloodborne is Diablo 4.

the artstyle looks like shit though, one of the things that make Diablo 2 so great is the presentation. It's like bar none the best in a videogame ever created. Everything just looks and feels so damn good. Just the inventories and the sound effects of moving items around and dropping them on the ground and stuff like that is amazing.

Not even close.

I would kind of agree, but give it to the souls series as a whole. I always wondered if someone could create something that felt kind of like diablo but in a third person view and Dark souls is definitely it. The way you prepare yourself, repair all your gear and move out from your safe spot into the dangerous levels with minimum story that interrupts you very much feels like it. The game also has that dark fantasy style to it and very satisfying animations and cool looking armor to boot with that semi realistic artstyle.

The Barbarian is exactly as advertised. Big, mobile, destroys waves of enemies and fun as fuck.

youtu.be/I22Ivb8ELzQ
Has a man ever been so right? Find myself in agreement to everything in this video. People got so caught up in the gameplay and "look" of it that they forget how the older games also were superior in how they presented the story and levels with enemies just coming out of the corner of your screen which made it horrifying instead of these elaborate cutscene presentations.

>all game has less than 10 spells
>shitty build diversity
>Braindead theorycrafting
>Diablo 4
We already got diablo 3 as the failure of the diablo series,no need another one.
