Vamp: the masquerade bloodlines sort of.
Modded Oblivion and Skyrim
Deus Ex could possibly be added to that list.
age of decadence
Fuck the combat in this game and fuck that Ming Xiao boss fight.
Pillars of Eternity was honestly great
>Malkavian
>Didn't upgrade anything because I wanted challenge
>My only weapon was a dagger
>My casual brother had spent all the blood packs on the previous mission.
Welcome to die.
Planetescape: Tournament
Fallout 1/2
Age of Decadence
Baldur's Gate. 1/SoA/ToB using the BGT mod.
PoE has a bland as fuck setting.
have you thanked your healer today?
No erpg in this thread user, sorry.
Long Live the Queen.
I'm deathly serious.
>Play it expecting some lewd game.
>Find some legit good intrigue RP game.
Same happened to me with Kichikuou Rance
there aren't any. get some buddies and play D&D. all the rpg games are just prescripted inevitably, since you can't call up the game dev when you have an idea to play a particular moment in fallout differently. there will never be a game that dynamically changes with the ingenuity of a humand mind, so if you need that sort of stimulation, go play dnd. if you want some epic builds, but don't mind the story lacking, play adom, caves of qud, or cataclysm dda. your choices only matter in the context of your survival. games will never be the vessel you want them to be, what you want is genuine ingenuity and social interaction. go find it, or that void will always trouble you.
Any free RP chats that aren't ERP?
I'd love something like that.
>branching story with interesting court intrigue that you can get heavily involved in
>ability to influence international politics on the side
>even the way magic is treated by the game is pretty neat, be a powerful enough magical girl and you can bypass certain decisions and even burn a would-be assassin to a crisp on the spot
>all of this from a goddamn weeb princess training game while bigger games are incapable of nailing even one of these aspects
There's this game called Witcher 3, don't know if you've heard of it
i've tried to find a few, make my own even, never really works out. isn't there a tabletop board on here? they'd probably know. i feel your pain, honestly, i've never even been able to play dnd with anyone, feels bad man. but yeah, i'd try boardgames or whatever they're called. rpgs that aren't just fun grinding and battle simulators are wastes of time if you're looking for compelling story and fun interactions, if you're older than 18. i think you're prolly like me, just grown out of other people's stories and want to forge your own.
Oh, you mean Yet another fantasy setting but this time with asscreed gameplay 3?
Not interested.
I played warcraft 3 SotDRP and DnD to quench the thirst a bit
Now I just write.
I'd love to dev games or to be a mod in a MMORPG and make interesting events.
yeah, there's literally a board right over there.
writing eh? i kinda went the other way into reading. good ol 17th century adventures scratch that itch pretty damn well half the time. what kind of stuff do you write?
Don't listen to this guy play Morrowind instead of Oblivion or Skyrim if you want a real RPG experience
None, roleplaying never matters, even if the game has it.
You can always continue regardless.
It does not have a spectacualr setting, but that does not make it bland either.
dark fantasy mostly.
But some stories are more serious than others.
most recent one was a horror story. I'm liking it so far but I wrote it so it's natural..
the quests are more entertaining and the story is better written, but the experience is clunky and poorly presented.Skywind when
I understand where you're coming from but that's not what I meant.
You can still have videogames with a great world and lore, that reward scrutiny and roleplay with additional, interesting lore.
Pillars of Eternity didn't really have a very interesting setting, but the way your class and chosen culture opens dialogue choices and answers that give you additional lore you wouldn't have found out about otherwise was pretty neat.
Thre's also RPGmaker
>now I just write
It's really satisfying to do, but getting people to read your work is really hard. Even if it's good.
I'm a writer myself, currently working on the second revision of my first book.
>currently working on the second revision of my first book.
I'm meeting my editor for the first time tomorrow
It's been a wild ride. I hope I can work doing this, or at least keep publishing.
What are your novels about?
>but getting people to read your work is really hard
I haven't even sold ten copies because I'm shit at marketing, desperately trying to get some recensions at the moment.
Pillars of Eternity could have had an interesting setting, but then it went and shoved you in literally the most boring part of it.
Not the crumbling Penitential Regency that decades earlier launched a crusade against the rest of the mainland as a theocracy led by a god in living flesh that was then blown up by a divinely-blessed bomb.
Not the cutthroat confederation of merchant city states that dominate the southern seas.
Not the island empire of giant hawaiian shark monsters that might or might not be in the middle of an industrial revolution.
Not the divine Empire whose patron deity is the deposed goddess of oaths and duties that was overthrown by its subjects, and likewise has been backstabbed by its colonies.
No, we're stuck in the redneck country equivalent of the setting, a sparsely populated colonial backwater on a staring contest with elves over dirty ruins.
Well, the one I'm currently working on is about an emissary from the moon coming to earth to make ties with her people here. She's a moon rabbit. They don't treat her very nicely, to put it lightly.
After being nursed back to health by a local nobody, the two seek discourse with the local earth rabbit gang, and end up getting roped into a drug war and the spread of a new dangerous street drug.
At its core, it's a story about separation of people and about drugs. But it has cute bunnies.
I ended up writing too much and it's going to end up having a sequel.
My second story, though, will definitely be about the symbiotic connection between man and computers, and how we get lost in virtual worlds and end up serving machines, instead of machines serving us.
>Like to write
>Hate to sell my shit
I know your pain.
I'm not him, but I feel the conflict of interest hard.
I don't write for money. I write for the love of writing. In that way, it feels 'wrong' to try to sell it.
But you can't get by in this world without money.
>used to write fiction during adolescence, about 10 or so years ago
>thought it looked good but due to young age and inexperience vast swathes of it were really badly written
>also the story changed and grew quite a bit over the years
>I know, let's restart this from scratch and write this properly
>going into the seventh consecutive year of writer's block
Now I have over a thousand pages of fiction rotting in an unconnected hard drive somewhere in my room and an universe more-or-less fleshed out in my head that I'm just waiting for the right concussion or head trauma to erase completely.
Oh well. Such is life.
Well, it's my dream to make a living through writing, so I have to get over this sooner or later. But it feels bad to advertise myself via normalfag-book and it also doesn't really work well. Someone else should do this for me.
You can pay people to do it for you. It's like an investment. Some publishers offer you a nice deal. You don't necessarily earn much money, but you get yourself a name for the next book.
I'm an autist so I did this.
I might do that after I wrote more.
I think writers should forget that a writer's block exists. Work on your discipline and concentration. Turn off Sup Forums
Though another thing I'd like to do and I know is out of my reach is making a game
It's PLANE Scape
>10 ranged combat
>10 combat defense
>lvl 5 auspex
>aug
0 to skank sushi in 20 seconds flat
>Girls doing (not sexual) adventures
Honestly is there any other game like this. Because this game is fun as fuck
This post is a diamond dozen in this doggy dog world.
...
simply epic
Retard.

>dungeon crawlers in god tier and Planescape in merely high tier
I spit on your "official" list.
Closest I got [for a certain definition of "close"] are the "Choice of" text adventure games. There seems to be a vast array of them, and at least one of them has you as a courtier in a vaguely iberian royal court setting in a society where wizards are a thing.
There seems to be quite a deal of court politics involved in it, and for what little I've played [it was just a free demo I focused completely on magical training and manipulation and went from a courtier to the queen's secret lover to the King Consort after I assassinated the old King through magical means.
It's all text and no graphics, but there's at least rudimentary gameplay in the sense that the game keeps track of your abilities and your decisions throughout the game influence your skills and thus your ability to solve problems.
There's also another game from the same company about robotics that can be played as pretty much a Dr. Wily simulator that I enjoyed immensely, but no one on Sup Forums seems to know that they exist.
dungeon siege 2 being above one makes this list automatic shit
>talking shit about UU and Wizardry
I spit on your face.
Fuck yes nigger, playing Brandish right now on PSP
Actually got me to wondering how many mainstream rogue likes there are, even though Brandish isn't 100% roguelike
>PST not in God tier
Only good thing about DS1 is the Ultima 5 remake.
I wanted to do something similar, but with some minor RPG elements and puzzle-solving.
>You're the loyal and somewhat neurotic bookworm assistant of some überbadass crazy dante necromancer
>Slay the demon king and get the throne for your master.
>überbadass crazy dante necromancer gets bored in hell.
>Wants to go back to the human world to unleash chaos and destruction and kill holy warriors.
>Leaves you in charge of everything
>Your only friends are a tiny demon bard, a cowardly beta lich and your own skills.
>Rebellion ensues.
You basically need to stay in power and reveal all the lore and secrets of the demon castle.
>You are also a little girl
It's fun because the magic system involves scrying, which can be useful in a text adventure.
My cock spits on your face.
Not into boys, sorry.
My cock spits INTO your cock faglord
This list used to be better but it got bloated and progressively become worse.
Right now it's too general, includes games that rarely even considered wrpg (Jagged alliance in god tier, you might as well add HoMM) and is often self contradictory like
>inquisitor in mid tier
>lionheart in shit tier
It's straight up impossible to have it like that without serious bias.
I'm afraid you have no choice in the matter.
I cook you a turkey.
*Cock spits so much everyone else is covered in it and dies*
My cock swallows your cock whole. I then shit it back out, into your cock again.
Jesus dude. You just had to go too far.
nigga its not out of your reach, use something easy as fuck like Stencyl or RPG Maker. You don't even need to know how to program, it's all design.
The thing a lot of people on here (and I guess in general) is that once you tell yourself something is impossible or "out of reach" then it truly becomes so. Like shit nigga just fucking try it, do you really have anything to lose?
>implying my cock isn't equipped with a self-destruct mechanism for exactly such a contingency
lionheart should be low tier for the first part
coming up with my own list soon(tm)
Well my cock is equipped with a contingency to counter your contingency.
If it senses it has ingested an explosive, it uses the attached antenna to alert the local bomb squad. They arrive on the scene shortly and defuse your hard wired de-attached cock while it's still writhing around within my own penis.
For the moment you are cockless. Your move faglord.
Also removing the 50 gold box games that all play almost exactly alike.
I would if I had money, but I need to work on stuff so I have other priorities. If I ever get into a good financial situation I will work on that 24/7 like the dwarf fortress guy.
It pisses me off to see all those kickstarters scamming people with their mediocre games.
>implying that was my only cock
Hey user.
You might want to look behind you
Shit my cockdar didn't spot that one.
Is that stealth?
Yup. The explosive cock is mostly to provide a distraction, really
I use the distraction of you explaining your cocks' abilities to spit in your face.
GODDAMNIT.
>Not console giving yourself full stats so you can make the atrocious melee and shooting somewhat enjoyable.
>Morrowind two tiers above Oblivion.
List discarded.
