Elders Scrolls Online is pretty comfy, its fun, community is cool and all and you can find people to party with in the wild.

Gameplay is simple and fun

I thought that game was a shit show?

Back when it came out, yeah

Right now you dont need to sub anymore, a FUCK ton of content, decent quests with stories and shit, good exploration and new content keep coming, example you can join the thieves guild (DLC) to steal shit and get some good dosh plus a whole array of story content. (you can still steal shit but is harder to sell it)

Or join the black brotherhood and become some sort of assassin.

Right now i am just playing it ultra fucking chill, just collecting ingredients to make food that i sell and keep getting recepies.

Its pretty fun, no classes and you can play exactly as you want it.

Vanilla WoW Server maybe? There seems to be a relatively new English one somewhere.

Is the community very talkative? whenever i've tried other mmos everyone is either silent or a gold spammer

You can find all types of people, most of those who dont speak are in some sort of Teamspeak, but you can find most new players will be using regular chat and you can strike up a conversation with someone and they will respond.

When i have jack shit to do, i just stand in some tavern where people go and strike up a conversation and just compare gears and maybe make a party there, its pretty great sometimes.

tera

damn that does sound insanely comfy, cheers for the recommendation.
The other game i was considering was FFXIV but I dont really have the money for a sub+game if i end up not liking it.

This-desu

I tried it before and it seemed okay, how friendly is it to a new player?

I heard pretty good stuff about FFXIV but i never played it, seems like its pretty social and shit.

If you want to give ESO a try, you can buy it for 11$, i bought the key from here

Cheers, that's cheaper than i thought it would be
How is the end game stuff for ESO?

I play FFXIV, but I picked up ESO for $15 when it was on sale on Steam, and I gotta admit, for no monthly sub and the game itself where it currently stands, it's a pretty good, comfy RPG in an MMO world. First person combat definitely helps to make the game more engaging, there's all the ES traits like crafting, collecting, guilds, stealing. The community is very friendly, so friendly that I managed to get some autist who was max level following me around while I was level 10, giving me 1000 gold a day and flirting with me even though I was a male character. Fully voiced dialogue, a main story quest and all that goodness too.

Combat itself is average, as is every ES game that exists and the lack in skills (especially if you bother with meta) is disappointing. The fact a fair amount of the content you get to play is single player only (including end game) is also disappointing, but Cryodiil is very fun to run around in a group with.

It was worth the $15 I spent, but I would say don't spend more than $30 unless you're super serious about playing. I got to about level 20 before I got bored. But overall, was genuinely surprised at where it's at now.

I havent reached the endgame yet, from what i heard you can do the PVP stuff, raid some dungeons i cant remember or something like that.

I really dont know actually, you need to look it up but they changed it out recently.

That sounds pretty good except for it all being single player content

>non autist gameplay
What do you mean?

Not really, i have done a lot of quests with other people, they are meant to be played solo but you can do it with a group

desu I just don't want to play a game like the secret world - i don't mind tab targeting as long as its done well

I was about to say, if you were talking about non autist community, then good fucking luck, every mmo has autists.
Hard to say which one has more or less than others as a percentage of total population.

Lord of the Rings: Online

It's community is in its waning stages but the experience is awesome if you want a comfy playthrough.

Yeah I can't really expect an MMO filled with only casuals, I just want well designed combat if I'm gonna put a huge amount of hours in

>dead genre general

It's all F2P P2W shit nowadays. Also wow killed the entire social aspect of mmos so nobody does "stupid shit" like making it a requirement for people actually communicating with each other in an mmo. And everyone tries to copy WoW so every game nowadays has party/raid finders that involve zero communication and all the bosses and content is mind numbingly boring that it requires zero coordination from any group of players.

You'll hear about it if there's a next "big" mmo, but until that, it's a dead genre.

How would you change MMOs? personally i want less themepark more sandbox, emergent gameplay is usually more fun

FFXIV has a shitty 2.5s gcd game mechanic and there's built-in delay on actions. Also you cannot start a new skill if the animation of the previous one is still unfinished, that's in addition to the 2.5s gcd on most skills.

Also the leveling process is going around killing enemies 1 by 1 for hours. 1 piggy there, 1 piggy here, 1 piggy after those and 1 piggy after the last one. 1 by 1, to the max level. The aoe skills in the game are literally shit.

make an mmo
on the west variant cripple soloplay so hard that its nearly worthless to do to make people party + spook bots, literally no cash shop

on the east variant throw in soloplay and a gigantic shit cashshop but dont make it too pay2win
why?
because fuck western solobabbs
and the west doesn't make any money compared to the east when it comes to cashshops so you might as well skip the autistic complaining about "muh pay2win"

Yes.

oh hey v-dude, i spoke to you the other day!
I tried vindictus and liked the gameplay but the client wasn't working so I gave up on it

Post more pixs like this

Sorry to here that! Try again once the service merge happens, maybe you'll have better luck.

yeah i think that was the issue, I'd log in and it would tell me to merge and then give me an error. Definitely on my list tho
