Your opinion on Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

8/10

A really good game from beginning to end but one which offers little replay value due to boss soul requirements.

Additionally, it's kind of a stretch that anyone would ever figure out how to get the true ending to the game if nobody spoils that you have to collect all three of Dracula's relics, but that's just me. I could also see how a collector might do it. However, I don't see why anyone would play through the game and take advantage of any special perks like Julius after already beating it once, since there is so much platforming intended for Soma. So for that it gets an 8.

Worst CastleKino.

Doesn't the game have collectibles with hints to which souls u need? Good game btw, but soul drop rate needed to.ne cranked way the fuck up

I hacked.myself to 999 luck and the drop rates were still abysmal

Cool game. The hoops you have to jump through to get Claimh Solais somehow makes that weapon cooler than it is.

Surprisingly one of the only main-line Kino Castlevania games I haven't played. DoS and PoR were always decent to me, if the story was a bit shit, but OoC was the bee's knees.

>inb4 people shit on me for liking OoC

My first CV so I have a lot of nostalgia for it

Probably the most solid Metroidvania aside from SotN since the DS titles are really good but have some notable flaws in each

Also my gateway into piracy via flashcart

Best castle design of the franchise, but is seriously hurt by the lack of quality of life improvements added to Dawn (equipment sets, certain souls being changed to relics).

It looks way better but the sequel is actually a much better game because +stat souls stack as you kill more monsters instead of farming +2 con, +4 con, +6 con from seperate monsters. It has better soul combinations too, I think.

What was that soul name that lets you summon a fullscreen axe to attack enemies? Nothing will ever top that.

>Doesn't the game have collectibles with hints to which souls u need?
Yes. There are three books that aren't particularly secretly hidden which give not very vague hints about which souls you need.

>The sequel is better because it has more grinding
And the sprite work in Dawn is a massive improvement compared to Aria, Aria is only better in regards to the character artwork.

Great Axe Armour. That's in Dawn, not Aria.

I distinctly remember Aria having something like that. The axe was black.

Red Minotaur

It is in Aria.
It's the Red Minotaur.

That's it!

Too easy.

More! One of my favorite castlevania games
