This, combined with low 3rd party support, is kind of the reason for game droughts on both their systems, and in turn the reason why the NX is rumored to be a home console and a handheld in one, because it would unify their development efforts and create less droughts.

meanwhile every new Uncharted, Dark Souls, Assassins Creed and CoD gets praised as revolutionary by journalists, while they all complain about how stale Zelda and other Nintendo IPs have been.

The only series in that list that gets that praise is uncharted (before yoy cry Sonygger, i dissagree with the praise. Even then, the latest one was considered lackluster by fans. AC got so stale that they shelfed it for a year and CoD is gone back to the original MW. Dork souls reviews are pointless because the "gaming journos" cant even play them.
Also, if Nintendo is getting harsh reviews by journos, then why do they get high scores that the Nintendrones throw around all the time on here? Way higher than games listed.

To say it wasn't is just stupid. They did not expect that many sales and because of their "great bussiness skills" we got the WiiU from it.

Fanboys buying any sequel for being a sequel are worse in my book than people trusting devs for delivering quality.

Nintendo could do exactly what they have done with the NSMB and make a 3D mario every 2 year without touching the engine. But there would be a drop in the quality of their game.

Just look at the CoD, Assassin's creed, Far Cry, they change almost nothing with each sequel, and the quality has dropped for years now. Reusing Super Metroid's assets would be very easy for Nintendo, and yet they never did.

Nintendo sells games like 3Dland which have a complete optional half. I don't know any other first party devs putting that much work in optional content excepting for From Software, and still DS3's optional content was quite shallow in the vanilla game.

A product taking a long time to make doesn't mean it will be good. Daikatana and DNF both took forever to come out and they were garbage. As far as Nintendo is concerned people spent years begging for a Star Fox game and when they finally got it it was shit, maybe not compared to games by other companies but by the standards set by previous games in their series.

There are still games that deliver optional content. I mean Bethesda and obsidian games can be finished without seeing and doing half the stuff in it for example
