Holy mother of flop

Holy mother of flop.

One was in a humble bundle and one was not

It was also free on psplus a couple of months back. Got it played it once. It sucked.

this. one was in a $1 bundle the other one is a $10 standalone product.

Nice excuse ubisoft employee

>A Ubisoft studio
>Indie

This is a game most won't buy till it's on sale 75% off

At this point indie has been co-opted to mean anything that doesn't resemble a AAA release. Either in price, or scope of the game.

I like those games. Better exploration than NMS.

I played the first one today, it's interesting for a short while but it gets kinda repetitive since all you do is climb
I don't see why they made a sequel, seems unnecessary

They're both nice, cute games with really fun climbing/movement mechanics. They both have a thorough seeding of collectibles and secrets that would've been right at home in the 90's-00's heyday of 3D platformers. Unfortunately, it is not that heyday.

I liked them both a lot but I can understand why others wouldn't. If I had a kid I'd hand this to them in a heartbeat.

>A kid trying to figure out the movement mechanics
That alone would occupy them for a damn day or 2.

>ubisoft publish original game
>flops
>ubisoft publish generic ubisoft synchornise map game #6
>sells millions
why is this allowed?

they're fun games

why are you autists shitting on games like that or yooka laylee anyway

Ubisoft own tons of small studios that they only publish and somehow support without really being 24/24 behind them

Grow Up is what a sequel should be
>expands the scope of the game
>gives the player a much bigger environment to explore
>adds useful new abilities that add more mobility

>Why do (You) farmers attempt to incite rage and get replies?

Agreed, but in a weird way, there's almost TOO much freedom of movement. I never use the plants (seriously, a platformer where you can throw down 12 flavors of jump pads? Wow!) because once you get enough crystals, your rocket-boosting glider is OP as hell.

>Game that has been out a week is less sold than its prequel that's been out a year

HAHA YEAH WOW SUCH A FLOP. Are you fucking retarded?

lol dude you think games sell consistently forever or something?
there is always a STEEP drop off in sales after the release window.

10,000 sales is pathetic.

>I'm very excited to announce... THAT BUD IS BACK!

HOLY OMITTED VARIABLE BIAS BATMAN

Lol, dude, you think Indie games sell considerably well?
They jump up in buyers when sales happen, cause people don't buy them otherwise in most cases.

depends of price and team size.
if you only need to pay 2 or 3 people it's really fair if not good.

Does anyone actually own Grow Up? I'd be interested to know if you can reconfigure *both* axes this time.

?

But I bought Grow Up because I pirated Grow Home when that came out and really enjoyed myself with both of them.

and then there's a huge spike when it's added in a humble bundle

kek
That fucking title.

This can't be real. This can't be fucking real. I BITCHED AT THESE FUCKERS FOR MONTHS BECAUSE THEIR FIRST GAME DIDN'T SUPPORT INVERTED Y&X AXES AND THEY JUST GO AHEAD AND DO THE SAME FUCKING SHIT AGAIN!

Anyway, thanks. Saves me a purchase. Goddammit.

lol dude you're a fucking retard

Just finished it.

It's fun, but really short, and doesn't add much from the original game.

Worth getting both in a humble bundle.

I just tried the Invert Game Camera option. It only inverts the Y AXIS.
I guess you're upset because you want to invert the X?

Yes. The problem with this particular game is that there are no external workarounds either. It's beyond me why they refuse to implement something so damn basic.

Another quality game for ps+

>no external workarounds
>Not just using keybinding software to swap your left/right inputs
On a controller, you can just remap it with any controller software.

Grow home was far more tense.

Grow Up gives you 20 times more mobility and feels more carefree. Once you get everything its over though.

Plants are useless unless your doing a no upgrade run.

Shut up, there is nothing that works with this game's input method. It's the same with Tiny & Big and a few other games.

>14.000 units
>10$ each
>140.000$ - 30% steam tax
>98.000$
that's a shitload of money

t. epic industry professional and totally not your average consumer

10,000 sales is still pathetic especially for a game featured at E3

>let's move those goalposts!

I like the idea of an open low-poly world to just run around and explore in since it reminds me of old games like jumping flash but the art style of grow home just looks hideous to me.

Not really.

I doubt Grow Home had a big launch day.

Games like Dustforce had terrible launch days, steadily got more popular as it got featured in Bundles and people realized it was good

How did he move the goalpost? He already considered 10,000 to be a flop in the very first post. He's just repeating himself.

>move goalposts
>Was "10,000 sales is pathetic"
>Still "10,000 sales is pathetic"
???
I agree, that guy is retarded, but his goalposts have not shifted.

i didn't move the goalposts, I'm repeating myself: at least shit on me correctly like telling me to stop repeating myself

It also looks exactly the same as the first one

I actually thought Grow Home was the new one and didnt get the point of the thread

Just should have put a 2 on it

>game that came out last week vs game that came out a year ago
I hate these threads

better than EA sacrificing indie devs to their money god

>10.000 sales is pathetic!
>no, no it's not because of reasons
>I-I mean 10.000 sales is pathetic for a game shown at E3! yeah, that'll show em!

Sup Forums is fucking stupid I don't know why I keep coming back

It came out with no fanfare. No promotion. No announcement. I bought it. I like it. Not a lot of games like this don't sell 300,000 copies on day 1.

to be fair, most people probably dont even know this is out already. I thought it was coming out in december, gonna go pick it up now.

i'm afraid of heights so i hate the game

That pic from grow up?

The animation is quite charming, though. Even the lazily designed player character looks kinda endearing in motion. The whole thing reminds me of Space Station Silicon Valley.

>"I have Grown Home and I have grown home but I am not home"
What did PC Gamer mean by this?

Because we can't leave

It came out with no fanfare. No promotion. No announcement. I bought it. I like it. Not a lot of games like this sell 300,000 copies on day 1.

It is, yeah.

Yep. I got one more too. Just started playing it.

The first one has been out for over a year and has been on sale several times now
What the fuck were you expecting? Its doing as well as it would reasonably be expected too

i dunno i think nintendo still sells mario kart ds for full price to this day

What about your wife's son?

Do the blocks spell out Hitler?

> bright side
> dark side
Already better than NMS

fun chill game
not bad for an """"indie"""" game

I just scratched at some sort of pimple on my right butt cheek and now it's fucking bleeding, what the hell...

But yeah, this game's likely gonna outsell Grow Home eventually, considering that the first game wasn't much of an instant hit either.

only two batteries

Are you even trying to collect crystals?

You make me cringe.

when i made that video, i had just rushed towards the moons
Thats where the ability to grow plants became really useful. The bubble plant alone almost get me all the way there
