This really confuses me, I wouldn't have thought women could be inherently worse at such a sedentary activity yet even female teams that do the whole "team house, practice everyday, it's my job" thing get stomped. There's already talk of setting up women's only esports leagues.

The reason why the perceived differences are even there is because e-sports is so much smaller in scope than real sports. If e-sports were huge, you'd see pretty much the same stuff.

Teams forcing their players to practice endlessly.
Because nobody would want to watch a bunch of greasy nerds play video games, they'd focus on player's physical attractiveness, thus making you feel inadequate.
Corruption would naturally abound and there would be huge controversies arising periodically.
Bitter rivalries are only natural.

I think it's because esports as a career is still pretty much a huge risk to take, and the number of women playing competitive videogames and a competitive level is way smaller than men, so the top percentile that is good enough to be on money winning teams is even lower than the men's pool.

If I can be a little sexist, women make more money by just being pretty and average at videogames than men do when it comes to streaming/youtube/esports.

Look, i'm in shape and I like traditional sports, but i'm absolutely willing to accept E-sports as sports. The participants are highly skilled at what they do, they are absolutely competitors in every way traditional athletes are, and the cameraderie amongst teammates is just as strong as any football/baseball team.
But images like the one you shared are just the same stupid, sneering bullshit that you people undoubtedly hate from the traditional athlete crowd. Both sides need to accept each other as competitors and legitimate athletes or else there will continue to be that infuriating "jocks vs. nerds" divide in young culture that has been damaging Americans for decades.

Well it has pretty high viewership amongst people under 30 and CS:GO is being shown on TV. Obviously will never reach the viewers that Football(both ones), Hockey, Baseball, etc have though.
