The original is best. The ps2 one is just too similar to sonic in terms of body proportions. I can't look at him and not think he's Klonoa the Klonoa

For me, it's definitely the original. He's short, more shota-like, bigger cat-like eyes, and doesn't try to be edgier with backwards hat, antennae hair, Sonic proportions, and thin eyes.

Wasn't Klonoa originally intended for older audiences anyway? I somehow doubt that the majority of the playerbase was children, though I guess it is possible, especially back then.

When I see the original, I see a cute little animal kid (around maybe 4 or 5 years old) playing an immature game like chase.
When I see the him in the remake, he looks like some lanky teenager-like animal fuck playing chase as if he's fucking 5 years old. Doesn't help that he has English voice acting in the remake (if you so choose to leave it instead of changing it to the Jap audio). That shit's unbearably cringey.

Honestly I'd be fine with all the clothing changed if they just kept the original eyes. So big. Helps Klonoa separate himself from Sonic characters, too. But his taller height also kind of takes away from his original charm.

I like both his designs for different reasons, but I guess id lean towards the PS2 design if only because the graphics were nice. I just don't care for 2D characters in 3D settings. If it weren't for that it'd probably be the original Klonoa
