The fact that they put their entire company on the line towards a niche game and are trying to mainstream it by being diverse and politically correct screams of utter failure, which it almost did during it's campaign. It might turn out good, but most people have or will completely forget about it in short time.

2 months later it ends up in a humble bundle for like $15. It becomes that bundle game that gets given away like samples at grocery stores and sits unplayed in 80% of the steam libraries it ends up in.

Several bundles and discounts later it gets a flattering story on Rock Paper Shotgun or somewhere talking about how it sold X00,000 amount of copies.
