1.) Lived up to its hype 2.) All footage shown since the reveal (E3, TGS, trailers) were not bullshots and are all in the final game 3.) All of the gameplay mechanics promised are intact 4.) Free of game-breaking bugs at launch and no day one patch 5.) And the game is also good and fun to play
Already the challenge is failed. Nothing will ever live up to the hype. Something will always be wrong or off that will either ruin a game or put a damper on people's moods.

There's literally nothing wrong with day one patches. It just means the developers can get an extra month of dev time that would've in the past been used on packing, shipping and selling games by their release date.
Unless of course you all want to justify the buggy games of yesteryear.

Overwatch? >1 the game is overall liked by the fans, that still actively play it and look foward to updates >2 other than the cinematics, everything shown was accurate to the final product >3 everything is in there, other than balancing characters abilities and stuff >4 the servers at launch weren't perfect but didn't failed as miserably as most expected >5 obviously subjective, but one could argue that the game is indeed fun

The vast majority of the fifth generation you damn millenial. That's when hyping shit started with the whole, "Whoa 3D games", almost every game came out better than when first showed, same for gameplay mechanics, no game breaking bugs whatsoever and a lot of fucking fun.

Generals Zero Hour >1.) Lived up to its hype It wasn't hyped that much, and if it was, still my favorite game of all time. >2.) All footage shown since the reveal (E3, TGS, trailers) were not bullshots and are all in the final game Every trailer for it is in-game footage. youtube.com/watch?v=PmaJL8U50Ik >3.) All of the gameplay mechanics promised are intact Eh, yeah. Its missing the demo and china infantry campaign, however that was never promised. >4.) Free of game-breaking bugs at launch and no day one patch There was a bug where you could launch a superweapon while its being built, but that wasn't discovered for years and was fixed. >5.) And the game is also good and fun to play subjective

Obduction launched yesterday, by the same people that made Myst, and it's all those things so far. No problems here yet, they patched in some minor fixes but there haven't been any massive bugs.
