/hg/ ranked the Halo levels

The Halo General on /vg/ ranked every mission from every Halo game. Everybody scored every level from a scale of 1 (terrible) to 10 (perfect).
Here are the results.

Here are the average ranks for the levels in Halo: Combat Evolved

Halo 2

Halo 3

Halo 3: ODST

The Silent Cartographer was garbage how is it so high

Halo: Reach

At 9, Assault on the Control room is still too low, that's about as perfect as a level got in the Halo series.

Halo 4

Library is way too high.

Halo 5: Guardians

>he doesn't like the library

>Halo 4 levels ranked higher than 5

Did they even play Halo 4? Every level was linear and predictable as fuck. Halo 5 is also linear but not to that fucking level. More to the point the Prometheans are rage inducing enemies in 4

this is amazing. this is a normal thing on /vg/? I need more charts that rate difficulty like this only for jrpgs

>Samefag: The Level
>good

You pretty much described Halo 1 in its entirety

>Go through these identical looking corridors
>Now do it in reverse

Prometheans are much worse in 5.
Halo has some of the worst enemy pathing I've ever seen.

Take away the story and at least 4 plays alright. 5 is a straight up mess with super small levels, a squad mechanic that straight up doesn't work, and levels where you literally don't shoot a single enemy.

>Halo 4
>worse than 5
Maybe if we're talking about multiplayer, but the Halo 5 campaign is abysmal

>Silent Cartographer 9.00
>The Library 6.32
Was expecting about that, have not played Halo 1 since right after the PC port came out. How is assault on the control room so high? I remember it so fondly because it was so painfully boring literally going across the exact same bridges into very similar rooms for half the map.

Only other Halo I beat was 3 and I can only remember a few sections from it. Honestly so many levels were so unmemorable in Halo and just felt exactly the same as the others.

>difficulty

uhhh

Here are the top 10 best ranked missions in the franchise

Just noticed this chart was enjoyability and not difficulty. oops

And here are the ten worst ranked missions

And Library was that condensed into one level with the blandest level design and the most annoying enemies.

Library is really fun to shotgun away endless holds of flood on legendary.
Lots of Halo enthusiasts really enjoy it.

Speak for yourself.
I've always been fond of the library. It's great for legendary co op

Hang on. The prometheans in Halo 4 like to stick to random walls so you have to look around every quarter second, aim at them and then deal with moving the camera back to ground level. This doesn't sound bad but on console FPS it's annoying as shit. Couple that with those really annoying hovering enemies which shield knights and you just get this really bland kill order going. In 5 they stop doing both of these things so much

The other thing is 5 was in 60 FPS which felt a lot better to play in. Both were terrible campaigns but I would always say 4 was worse

I never played 5, and thank Christ apparently because by the end of 4 I was so filled with hate at those missions. Just so bad.

>those levels with only prometheans scoring under 4 points
Fucking serves them right.

The fuck? That was one of the better levels in the game. If that intro landing and subsequent battle didn't get you hard af I worry for you, user.

Best levels
>Twin Betrayals
>Quarantine Zone
>The Covenant
>Uplift Reserve
>Last Night of Solace
Didn't play 4 or 5

you didn't miss anything

Here's the average.
Keep in mind a few things. This system of voting benefits campaigns with less levels (Halo 4, ODST) because a single good scoring level carries more indicidual weight. Many of the people in the /hg/ thread noted ODST ranking 0.11 points above Combat Evolved for example, even though they felt CE was the superior campaign overall.
Many also said that they would even rank CE or even ODST over 2 overall because while they felt 2 did have the best level averages, it still clearly wasn't a finished game.

Halo 3 is a curious case, even people that generally were not fond of it overall in the scoring gave "The Covenant" very high scores. As a result, it's the highest scoring level of all, but the rest of the campaign didn't fare well. Outside of the Covenant and it's preceeding level, "The Ark", the levels were criticized for being too easy, lacking in variety, and short. Meanwhile, most people admitted the best of Halo 3 was was better than anything in Halo 4, but that Halo 4 also doesn't have any levels as boring as Halo 3's worst. As a result, and the fact that Halo 4 only has 8 levels, it actually ranks higher overall than 3. If we take 3's best 8 levels (dropping "Floodgate") and match them up against all of Halo 4, it's more even.

Halo 5 was almost universally criticized out side of the second mission, "Blue Team", which most said felt like a traditional Halo level trapped inside a terrible game.

Halo 3 has always had an overrated camlaign.
It was the multiplayer that made it popular.

>High ratings for Halo 4 Campaign

>Halo 5 was almost universally criticized out side of the second mission, "Blue Team", which most said felt like a traditional Halo level trapped inside a terrible game.

Was about to post about this. That mission really was great from the music to jumping into a firefight from the ceiling and flying Banshees (with the traditional dum dum de dums playing).

Was so fucking dissapointed with the rest of the game. Really shouldn't have moved away from the Chief and fucking Blue Team.

Even the later blue team levels were bad. Hell, the second lowest rated level is a blue team level.

Most of them are below 7/10 and only one of them is above 8/10. That's not really high ratings.

>metropolis/outskirts has the highest rating
Those are two of the worst levels on legendary because the prevalence of jackal snipers. There's even one section in metropolis where there are nearly infinitely spawning jackal snipers

Git Gud

This data analysis is pretty sad. I mean, I get that this is just some descriptive stats from an obviously bias sample and all, but it is still a sample, so you really should be making confidence intervals and shit.

I really don't have a problem with much of it.

It's not a matter of skill it's their extreme prevalence that prevents you from doing anything. They throw a gauss hog in one section full of jackal snipers and you can't use it on legendary because you will die no matter how you drive. They force you to move at certain angles and pop around certain corners because even with an aimbot it's impossible to kill multiple jackal snipers all looking toward you.

As someone that's LASO'd it, it's hard but perfectly doable

TSC was obviously the best level. CE has my favorite campaign of the series. Surprised to see The Library wasn't shitted on. It wasn't that bad as it is made out to be but it's definitely probably the weakest level.
Cairo Station was actually insanely hard on legendary. Took a bit to get used to new mechanics that changed from CE. Overall it's a good level. Probably would say Delta Halo was best. Metropolis maybe third or fourth best. Looks like people overrated it imo. I can definitely see why people say H2 is best Halo even if I prefer CE.
This one is tough for me to say. Overall the levels were decent at least. Don't remember if Floodgate was that bad.
Only played through it once but it was definitely a good game. Mostly remember the city part though with night vision on.
Level where you start on beach and go into space was best. Also having to survive at the end was neat.

Haven't played the other games.
CE > 2 > 3 > ODST > Reach

Agrees

>tfw you will never #huntthetruth

>Creeping through Nightfall
>Avoiding enemies
>Using AC
>Jun shoots something and the AI suddenly starts looking for you

Fuck you, Jun.
