He was also earning money which like every conscientious dev would do, could use to HIRE OTHERS!

What is even the appeal of this game?

It looks like a glorified farmville where all you do is repeat the same repetative NOT FUN tasks day in and day out, and the characters don't even have any sort of good personality, and are literally walking statistic boxes.

Animal crossing at least had great music and fun characters and was comfy as fuck, but this looks like trash. I saw gameplay of the character, and it was literally lifeless sprites who would repeat dialogue all the time and had very clear stat boxes for you to fill in, like robots instead of humans.

Where is the fun in watering the same garden, picking the same plants, day in and day out? Or going into a cave and using a shitty combat system to grind out materials? If it was fun like terraria, I'd get it, but it doesn't look that way.

Where is the replay value?

I like the characters and seeing your farm grow every day makes it rewarding. I'm someone who really hates repetitive gameplay, but it only started to bore me during the second year.
Had to put it on hold because of real life shit and now I can't get into it anymore, but I'd say if you just finish the main story, you'll be fine.

Should have kept the granpda ghost like it was instead of making him a wussy.

I personally hope Ape doesn't waste time on a multiplayer update. The game needs way more content for for co-op to be anything more than 'hurr durr lets walk around your farm and deforest the whole map or fuck around the caves'

Half the reason this game was made is multiplayer, but it's worthless with the game in its current state. At least another town, the city, a new vacation home, a fuckin island in classic HM style, whatever.

I liked this game, even if update 1.1 probably isn't coming.

The sense of progression was fun as you started unlocking some special areas and resources.

Which other games can give me this sense of progression?

If you don't like Harvest Moon, you won't like this game. It really tries to be a HM game and isn't subtle about it.

I really enjoyed the gameplay, but the characters and combat are a bit dumb. The character portraits were so ugly that I had to install a portrait mod to make it bearable. It doesn't help that the atmosphere is kind of ruined by gross American influences.
