I am very competitive when it comes to games but prefer things like leagues and tournaments over speedrunning and abusing glitches.

Right now I am trying to become the best in the world at Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. Real time matters little - The amount of turns you spend matters a whole lot, though. I am in the top 50 currently but still have a long way to go to reach the top.

I know they do but still, isn't the "main" Speedrunning scene so to speak the one that allows all sorts of glitches and shit which basically trivialize games?

This is the worst analogy for speedrunning I have ever seen.

I don't speed run because getting good at a solo player game is meaningless. You gain nothing, there's no competition outside of autists thinking any form of non PvP is competitive or skillful.

Speedrunners should stick their head in a toilet and flush it until they pass out.

That's the thing, I want to enjoy my video games. Not be stressed to complete it in a certain amount of time.

I'm pretty open about things, and I mean if people enjoy it just let them be, but holy shit speedruns seems to be one of the most wasteful way of using your time.

I do sometimes, but I prefer to do it without exploiting bugs and such. Beat Arkham City in like 3 hours.

Speedrunning is for actual autists, going for score, 1CC or no death runs are real skillful shit.

Am I alone thinking this? There's nothing interesting about seeing someone glitch passed 98% of a game to finish what's normally a 12 hour game in 17 minutes.
