I loved Mankind Divided and Human Revolution, but to this day have not been able to beat the original Deus Ex just because I kept moving on to other shit,

They changed the level design, which is the best out of all the great features of that game. Also fucked with the music.

I do recommend getting the graphics mods that the revision uses. The game does show its age.

one moment im just walking then suddenly im sprinting very fast

Changed level design, about 1/4 of the changes are for the better while the rest is for the worse.
Changed lighting objectively for the worse EVERYWHERE.
Added so much clutter on the levels that even my 780 Ti GPU dipped below 60 FPS in some spots because the ancient engine simply can't handle so much shit on screen.

I played DX 15 times and I just can't replay it anymore. New ones are decent but can't fill the void because of all the normie friendly console mechanics. I wish there was some sort of unofficial spiritual succesor that would be more faithfull to the original.

Other than the graphics, voice acting, and admittedly awful AI, Deus Ex is still better than a lot of AAA games released these days gameplay wise.

Revision and GMDX seem to have the same goals. How do they compare?

It doesn't fuck anything up so much as changes the level design, big and small, but mainly to add new routes and whatnot. It's different enough from the main game in my opinion.

Definitely not negatively. I'm just a purist when it comes to what mods to get for a first playthrough so I naturally not recommend stuff that changes level design.

If you don't mind then go for it. GMDX is great.
