So let's pretend that esports are officially an Olympic sport. What game should be in the Olympics. I think Literally any valve game

Melee or Brood War
Dota 2. It is mechanically perfect.

Couldn't the argument be made that mechanical precision is a physical ability?
Esport isnt a fucking sport and will never be, at best it destroy your back and your vision.
Hand-eye coordination is a physical ability
most sports destroy your body so uhh
One problem is the question legacy, that is, how do you preserve the mechanics of a game for the sake of balanced competition when there are updates and patches outside of the olympics.
If you made street fighter 2 CE into an olympic game, would you just run a double elim tournament? Would you classify players based on mains? And then, would you really expect later generations to care about SF2:CE 8 years later?
it's a tough question.
The only reason E-sports isn't Olympic yet is because the U.S. and Europe who pretty much own the Olympic committee would shit their pants at the prospect of East Asian countries getting pretty much all the new medals and suddenly China might dominate the Olympics from then on. It's purely political. Swimming has 7 billion useless events for the same reason so the U.S. can inflate its own numbers.
If golf can be sports, then rhythm games can be esports.
Esports=/=Sports
Chess isn't in the olympics for the same reason videogames will never be. Why do people like to compare the two?
Chess is still recognized as a sport though.
Why is rifle shooting an Olympic sport? You're not doing anything physical other than using hand-eye coordination. Hm, sounds familiar huh?
DOTA 2
Starcraft 2
UT / Quake
Pump It Up, because its actually physical.
