Im gonna play it extremely safe and say that it'll be revealed around late September/early October.
Sakamoto stated that he going to be hands off with traditional series for now on which means he will only Produce games like Metroid and that's it. Takahashi head of EPD stated that they have plans for a traditional style Metroid.
They're both companies focused on making big, expensive, flashy products, they probably didn't want NEO to be overshadowed by whatever Apple announces next week.

Merging their handheld and home developers will give them a lot of games and a lot of sales. With that kind of strategy, when played smart, 100 million hardware sales is not a problem. Just need to keep the price of the console low. NX has the potential to have more games than 3DS and Wii U combined.
With PS4 and XBO engulfed in western homogenized garbage and multiplayer FPS games. Because a lot money being wasted on new hardware and VR, new games are so scarce right now, good game are even more scarce, there will be even less new games when VR flops, games will have to become even more mass market oriented, homogenized and dumbed down in order to not flop, even more devs will close down.
NX will be a breath of fresh air in this fucking cesspool.
But MS is actually making games, don't even consider VR to be a major part of their plans, and are unifying the console PC space. They have even stopped with generations for their console. In reality their plans are that much different from Nintendo's.
Considering that Nintendo could keep zelda away from leakers and the entire NX controller fiasco.

Is this a joke? Halo 5 is a flop and a very bad game. FH3 is a low cost rehash of FH2 that was a low cost rehash of FH1, same with main Forza series. New GeoW looks like another dumbed down directionless low-cost sequel to make a buck on big name franchise while the name is recognizable, strategy is pretty much similar to Halo from 343.

Modern parts are extremely low-cost. Just look at Chinese smartphones, and yet they make profit when they sell them. Imagine how much money one iPhone makes.
You should really check out the prices of Tegra tabets. They are very low. And consider this, Tegra tablet price is low and they still profit on hardware sales, but console can be sold without a profit.

Halo 5 sp was crap but its mp is good, GOW4 looks like an improvement over that Judgement shit, you can kill yourself on Forza, and you seem to ignored Recore an actual game as you like to call it. The Xbox also has Crackdown 3 coming. Unless the Nintendo can actually makes some good games on this NX, I won't be buying shit from them.

As for retro studios, im pretty hype. i just beat super metroid a few weeks ago which was my first one, and im pretty excited to get into the franchise. It's looking like the NX will have a strong launch line up (i also think lots of Wii U projects were moved to NX)
Don't know what the other game is they're making, but isn't it supposed to be a new IP? If so im interested in seeing what they give us.

If i start up Xbox One i will be greeted with buggy, unresponsive mess of a dashboard that is extremely prone to random errors and crashes. Game selection will be poor, mostly multiplayer shooters, open world checklist simulators and homogenized racing games.
Compare this to 3DS and Wii U both of which have very diverse selection of big games in different genres, also stable UI.

I had no idea how important is good UI for a console. Using Xbox One dashboard opened my eyes to this, it is such a bad, frustrating experience. Even basic things like launching a game is slow and can crash the dashboard.
I'm actually starting to think that they're going to wait until January

I dunno there's something about nearly every exclusive except a select few on PS4 where I can't seem to get myself hyped at all. Nearly every exclusive has an "I'll get this further down the line, maybe, if I feel like there's nothing else to play". The last PS4 exclusive I thought "Shit I've got to go buy this RIGHT THE FUCK NOW" was Bloodborne, and there's nothing on the horizon for the console (multiplat or otherwise) that gives me this feeling.

Cinematic and weeb shit is just another option. I like my games to have diversity, to offer something new and different. Because palying one open world checklist game after the other, starting up some multiplayer FPS and racing games that all feel the same is fucking depressing. Xbox One is depressing.

It just that this gen is shitty. Lot of good devs closed down after kinect, 3d and motion controls fiasco. Games now have to be very dumbed down and generic, appeal to everyone or they won't sell. Also instead of spending money to make more conventional games and enjoy the slow but steady grow just like in PS2 days, Sony tries to expand the market with VR gimmick and pull all the money and dev resources there. That's why there is even less games coming out and all new releases have to be even more "safe".

Games you listed are mediocre and don't appeal to me. Exception would be Scalebound and ReCore. A lot of unreleased games too. As of right now the situation is very depressing. Both XBO and PS4 have very poor game selection. All big titles are dumbed down and homogenized. Three years have passed since new consoles have been out, console generation is coming to an end already and i can name only three good next-gen games i played: Alien Isolation, Doom, R6 Siege. Kinda depressing, isn't it?

Xbox no longer has generations and the Xbox has better exclusives than Siny I forgot to add "Overdrive" to that list. For myself the only worthwhile system to have right now is a Xbox and NX (if it has any worthwhile exclusives)
Won't happen. They need it to be cheap to compete. Their best plan of action is to have it be 299 and be backwards compatible with Wii U and Wii and have a non-backward compatible NX games only version at 199.

Xbox is closing down and turning into Steam machine. They try to cover and sugarcoat it but it's the truth. Xbone was a big investment that didn't pay off and big guys with big money have decided that Xbox is done, Spencer is there to salvage what's left and use the brand name recognition to market other MS products like Win10.
It's a good thing because you no longer need to replace your Xbox with a new one for a long time. Shit hot really annoying having to get a new console every 5 fucking years, now I can get new games until the games become eclusive to the next Xboxes like the phone and PC. I can also play all of my old games and continue to get new games because of forward and backward compatibility. How is this a bad thing?

It will certainly help them avoid the catastrophic droughts they experience on the home console front, but I'm not really sure where "a lot of sales" are coming from.
I don't really see it outpacing what 3DS did by much. I'd imagine there is some significant overlap between 3DS and Wii U owners, without even getting into possible double-dipping with the N3DS.
That's still a pretty good market, but Nintendo themselves weren't all that thrilled with the 3DS's performance.

eh, if you remember, the 3DS launch was handled poorly with no good games at launch and a way too steep price. That lost them a lot of initial momentum and sales. It's not the only fault of the 3DS either. Those 3D screens turned out to be a wasteful investment as 90% of their customers really don't give a damn. Even so, the game has to be rendered twice by the system.
I think if NX can avoid all the 3DS mistakes, we could have a real winner on our hands (also depends on how they please the console crowd)

The price argument is just a reflection of Nintendo's brand perception and what customers are willing to pay for their products. Nintendo can't command a premium price, even coming on the heels of the monster DS sales.
The portable game device market is what it is at this point. Can they do better than 3DS? Yeah, maybe. I just don't expect it to be much better. I'm not seeing the large influx of new people to this potential hybrid device who weren't already there for 3DS.

You could say the same for Nintendo, NX is a platform, they are merging their console and handheld space together and they are making games for mobile phones. Who knows if we will get another next generation console after this, if you can even call the NX a next gen console since it's a platform. Sony is the only one that is still going by that old ass generation. When the PS5 release, the PS4 will not be forward compatible.

PCs are all sold by third parties who are just buying parts in bulk. They don't have dedicated online stores, subscription services, peripherals, or platform royalties to collect revenue on.
You'd need a major CPU/GPU manufacturer/license holder to put it out directly and Nvidia/AMD/Intel/Foxconn, don't really have an incentive to plunge the prices.
