Archer has lower DPS than the knight

>archer has lower DPS than the knight

>knight is less tanky than the healer
Shiggy Diggy

>knight swings his sword
>cuts a goblin in half

>archer grabs an arrow
>readies it
>shoots
>has moderate odds of missing

>game adds more characters/classes
>new ones are clearly superior to older classes and make them completely obsolete

The healer-made-of-porcelain bullshit started in Dragon Quest. That series ruined RPGs forever.

>squishy healer
>ever
You're doing it wrong.

they are literally keeping everyone alive though, if they were tankier than everyone else that would be completely unbalanced. it's not dragon quest's fault it's just natural balancing

>people get upset when the plainest class armed and armored to the teeth is better for survival and exploration than their snowflake classes

Tanky healers aren't OP, they were the standard before DQ made them sissies. Nu-healers are just liabilities that are only over useful when fighting status effect bosses.

>archers are short range, have infinite ammo, and can control nature

To be fair, tanky healers in mp games is quite a bit different from tanky healers in games with vancian magic.

tanks also use to be able to deal damage but here we are

Fighter is really shit in D&D though. Tome of Battle happened for a reason.

No idea what game you play, but that was true 3 years ago.

>human fighter

They're all humans
If you want an elf you gotta play the elf class. If you want a halfling you gotta play the halfling class. Old d&d is kinda dumb
2e is the best though

>archer gets a damage bonus if she's further away from the target
>archer deals more damage to airborn units
>archer is the only not-shaman class capable of inflicting every status condition with poison/paralysis/ect arrows
>archer can use swords
Based.

Uhh, isn't that possible in real life? If your skill gap from your enemies is high enough (and they have shit armor while you have good armor) you could kill three of them in front of you in two swings tops while you will have to reload and arch back multiple arrows to get those same three guys.

>damage bonus if far away
Now THAT makes no sense. Physics works in the opposite.

I don't know about you, but I can swing a sword faster than I can pull out an arrow and shoot it

What is longbow for 500,please

>being this retarded unironically
Do you really think longbows somehow magically make arrows fly fast the longer they travel? What does a longbow have that allows it to circumvent physics that no other bow can?

In any game that has a healing class that can resurrect or out heal the enemy DPS it makes sense to focus down the healer, heals=tanks or off tanks makes sense, the reason why healers can be squishy in RPGs is because the AI for such games rarely prioritizes taking the healer out and just hands you a tanky melee class to soak up the damage, I would argue that a trinity of heals, support, dps should be the true trinity for any pvp focused MMO or multiplayer game.
