Is this game worth buying? How many active players?

Is this game worth buying? How many active players?

It's a fun game, I'd say its worth buying.
Theres around 10-15k people playing it.

But the game has a fuckload of glaring issues, which in my opinion will keep it away from ever getting a serious pro scene like other "esports" games.

The first of this issues is the netcode, its pretty fucking bad and it has a serious peaking advantage, theres videos on yt of people trying it and in some cases, some peakers get like a full second and a half of advantage before showing up on the other person's screen.

Sometimes, you'll fill an enemy with bullets and get killed, and the killcam will show only one (or none) of you bullets actually hitted him.

The other major issue is ubisoft shitty hitreg, dont even bother playing with shield operators, because the fucking hitreg will screw up and they'll be "headshotted" from the front while holding the shield.

however at least ubisoft has fixed a lot of previous issues and improved the netcode, but im not sure if it can be fixed completely.

so, fun game, maybe not worth 60 bucks

Theres also a fuckload of balance issues, which have been slowly corrected but some are still there. im talking about useless operators like tachanka and twitch, they simply dont see high level play because they dont bring anything interesting/useful to the table.

Yeah its gaining players daily. Its one of the best shooters on the market right now. Join the r6g teamspeak if you want people to play with

It looked promising in the beginning, then a lot of the flaws reminded me of the shit games like Blacklight Revolution suffered from. What's a sin is that these smaller developed FPS dies, and a flag shit product that makes the same mistakes manages to live due to marketing power.

How are the 2 similar?

Overall im happy with how balance is being dealt with, like how devs realized how stupid it was for thermite to have frags so they gave them to buck who is honestly the least interesting operator in the game

This game isn't dying anytime soon. It fetches tons of view on Twitch and is steadily gaining players. Shits good man.

Twitch has a good gun, same reason why people play Recruit on Attack.
Tachanka is just bad because the armor stat does like nothing, and a stationary anything is bad.
Twitch's drone needs to be faster, OR let it ride on walls and ceilings. Tachanka is unfixable unless you do the shitty idea of giving him a shield ala Blackbeard.

The only huge balance issue is nitro cells vs shields, and how many defenders in general have nitro.

Lets talk about twitch for a second:

First of all: Having a good gun really isnt enough reason to pick a character. If you're playing for just the guns, then, as you said, you should pick recruit, who if im not mistaken has all the vanilla guns for attackers.

For the rest of the characters, you really want to have a good "gadget".

Twitch's drone is slow as fuck, loud as fuck, has a glaring red light and it cant jump. and Mute's jammers affect it exactly like other drones.

Its a terrible drone for scouting (because of its reduced mobility) so youactually lose more time using it than a regular drone, and its offensive capabilities are laughable, thatcher is much better at dispatching electronic shit.

And her second gun, the 417, it gives the impression of being a super sniper gun since its semi auto, has 10 bullets in the mag and its fucking huge, so you'd expect it to be super accurate and to kill anyone in 2 shots..wrong, it has a very low damage output from range and its innacurate as fuck.

I mean, theres really no reason to pick twitch over other attackers, even IQ is better because IQ can actually counter pulse.

Tachanka could be fixed if his MG was given a higher rate of fire or higher penetration, like if it was actually capable of penetrating shields, or as you said: at least a headshot shield.

Also did you just said armor is meaningless? Are you kidding me? You can totally feel the difference between a 3 armor character and a 1 armor character. the entire reason why kapkan became playable was because they gave him 3 points of armor

...

Time for Siege memes

The huge balance issue right now are the fucking shotguns desu

Is the legend lurking this thread? Did you get any more kills?

...

Very worth

Its fun as fuck, but dont expect an ultra coordinated >operator thing

Most people just do their own stuff, communication is minimal, even in ranked. So forget about shit like coordinated breaches or smart team compositions.

If you can get people to roleplay with, its pretty fucking rad.

Also theres a new mode comming called ultra realism which basically turns HUD off

op i'd like to add that you should make sure your PC can max the game, because the visuals are extremely murky on low and its really fucking hard to spot people like that, the game uses some ridiculous god rays for exteriors so if your pc cant handle them you'll just have a fucking blinding white light whenever you're standing outside

Absolutely. It has some issues here and there, but the game is really fun and has a very special feeling and gameflow.

Wait for a sale if you're still unsure, because when it's on sale you can get yourself the Starter edition that comes with some free operators and goodies for 20$

>NAVY SEAL operative has a Desert Eagle .50 AE as his sidearm

Despair yet a boner. Is it actually powerful in game?

It can one shot low armor operators if they get shot on the chest at medium range, so yes

Yes, but so is every gun desu, the damage for every gun is huge. Pistols included, most pistols still kill in 3-4 shots (And they shoot really fast).

Deagle is usually a 2 shots.

But navy seal has such great main weapons you'll rarely use the deagle.

I've heard that this game adds operators on a regular basis. How are they like? Pay 2 win? Shit? Balanced? Or a complete op mess like most new lol champions?

This accurately sums up r6 siege

They are pretty balanced IMO

Toss up usually, and renown is so easy to get its not really pay 2 win. All 3 defenders are good, but only 1 attacker is good constantly.

Post 'em

The legend is here. I got three more kills comrade. Tachanka kills aint free

With the exception of Blackbeard being OP they're all pretty well balanced. The Brazilians are actually well balanced but quite clever. Capitao isn't overpowered but he's very strong with a clever player, and Caveira can be a menace to a team without any teamwork.

Valkyrie might be "OP" she's definitely a must pick if someone on your team has good map awareness and knowledge of likely breaching spots.

where do you lads see this info?

>Blackbeard

>last update
>pulse got nerfed
>blackbeard didn't
Literally why, Blackbeard is the most no-skill op, and is basically invincible when peeking
>hurr just flank him
I can't fucking flank him when he's sitting on an exterior window

just google rainbow six stats. its the ubisoft one on the top

oh, found it. I'm the guy who picks Thermite/Rook because nobody else did.

>play it for the first time
>don't know how this game works or how the general pace of the game is
>get immediately yelled at by random people for being shit
>tell them:"no shit, I'm shit, I play the game for the first time in my life"
>they just yell at me harder
online matchmaking was a mistake

Yeah, I know I'm that guy.

It is always good to see you here, Legend

play it with some friends lad. watch some guide videos and walk around the maps alone in a custom game so you can get a feel for them.

Why is Thermite so based?

Yell back at them, try barking like a rabid dog

>helmet for extra protection
>suave glasses that keep his eyes safe during breaches
>burnt hands,sign of experience
>A REAL BIG FUCKING HOLE COMIN' RIGHT UP

iktf lad

thermite is unironically my favorite attacker, i'm probably the only person who loves his AR
rook isn't fun at all though

Rook is pretty fun, his MP5 with an ACOG is a kickass headshot machine. I agree about Thermite's AR, it is pretty good, mid range I swear I win most gun fights easily, and it's good for long range headshots too.

I wouldnt say "regular basis", they've added 6 so far.

Blackbeard and valkyrie are too fucking op, the nerf for blackbeard is pretty obvious (reduce the durability of his shield, or turn it into a damage filter instead of an impenetrable shield) but theres not much to do about valkyrie, she's simply inherently op.

Frost is op because of her weapons
buck simply exists, he's really the least groundbreaking character in the game

Capitao and caveira are balanced but IMO they feel a bit gimmicky

>Still haven't caught anyone in my Welcome mats yet
God dammit

would you bucc her blasian pucci?

Canada ops best ops

About a month ago I would have said yes.

They fixed up her face a bit.
Put em under windows that the attackers will either rush into when time is running out or windows away from the objective they won't be too wary near.

Just put them in places where the attackers will path in last second panic assaults or retreats.

If it is placed somewhere that they will walk when they are moving at a normal pace, rarely works. But put it on a side path around to the objective, behind a counter, opposite a barricade of a doorway to the objective that is less likely to be taken.

Sometimes you'll get that satisfying last second victory once the clock starts running low.

Though if I remember right, they got behind schedule already.

>or windows away from the objective they won't be too wary near.

this is what I do. rarely get the kill with it, but you wound the fuck out of someone and disrupt their entry

Put a shield at a doorframe and a trap behind the shield.

Theres literally no way to see it unless they go in from somewhere else

...

That's beautiful

Soon to be Smoke

Just bought this and I don't have much experience with tactical shooters but it looked fun.

Anything I should know/learn before I jump in?

>If you're playing for just the guns, then, as you said, you should pick recruit, who if im not mistaken has all the vanilla guns for attackers.

Yet has to use iron sights for weapons which makes the majority of them completely obsolete in comparison to other operators (witht he exception of shottys that don't rely on them just as much).

Also, recruit is the only 3 speed attacker with a shotty

Don't pick Fuze when the objective is Hostage until you're more experienced.
Don't pick Castle on defence until you're more experienced(badly placed barricades can lose you the game by shutting your teammates out of objectives).

Pretty much this , and don't forget about the awful lighting system where its really fucking hard to see outside at all on a lot of maps as a defender

God do I love the game though

postin'

Or if you really want to pick Castle (his shotgun is boss), just put your barriers one layer out further than you would original think to.

You see those doors connected to the objective room, the windows in that room, all that stuff? STOP LOOKING AT IT. You are going to lock your teammates in, like sardines.

Go a layer out, the next set of doors, windows to an adjacent room or main entryway, stuff that will actually inconvenience the enemy without both revealing your exact location and locking your team in.

Also if you're in a baddie ELO (most of us are), Castle can be fun on hostage. Usually a main weakness for Castle is that his barricades protect an enemy fuze as he plants his charges. On hostage, if they have a fuze, they probably already lost.

...

It's definitely worth playing, one of the best FPS games on the market right now.

The biggest aspect that appeals to me personally is the fact that it's basically a home invasion sim. Shit can get very intense when you're waiting for the attackers to come and you hear them breaking into the building like a bunch of burglars and their footsteps slowly get louder as they approach. Coupled with the fact that instant death could just be lurking around a corner makes a very immersive experience.

That being said, gameplay is indeed very solid, but the game's flaws lie outside it. It's got an F2P model of acquiring operators despite the hefty price tag which is outright disgusting. Netcode is also slightly fucky and many times you'll be screaming hax when it's just Ubicock netocde taking a shit on you. Also one detail I really dislike is that the whole marketing beforehand billed it as terrorists vs CTU but in the final product it's only CTU vs CTU which is pretty fuckin dumb desu, I can't even handwave it as a training exercise considering the operators are gassing each other with zyklon B and shit.

But despite this I feel my money was very well spent, you don't want to pass this one up. It's a really unique game.

>doc
My negro
I think people underestimate his acog, also the occasional ability to self revive or even revive someone else can be a game changer.

i think the only ones left are the ones who think its funny to shoot their teammates and teabag them

...

Knowing the map is probably the greatest thing that will contribute to your success since a large aspect of the gameplay involves exploiting destructible shortcuts to put yourself in a tactical advantage.

Load up a custom game or, if you don't want to waste time, join a coop AI game and go exploring while the rest of your team does all the work and you get paid for it

>tfw everyone else thinks IQ is trash
But its great taking out well hidden Valk cameras and the occasional Pulse. And 552 is a fantastic rifle

...

Uh, actually that seems fine. The shot was extremely inaccurate, but they got super lucky.

Look at the crosshairs, that shot was wild.

The thing you should remember is that valk didn't get added until like 6 months after people were used to her being a garbage pick.

She's been buffed by proxy with changes to other operators or new additions.

Valkyrie's black eyes, kapkan's buff, mute's buff, and even pulse's minor rework/buff, all made IQ a more valuable pick. But they were also all made relatively recently.

jesus christ.

I think she's good, 3 speed is godsend and the AUG is nice

>Every csgo kill

kek

YOU CUNTS, SOMEONE ELSE PICK ROOK FOR ONCE.

been thinking about buying this but cheating seems rampant

do you have to use uplay or ghetto shit like that or does it just go through steam alone

Yes you must use Uplay.

welllllp.

...

Not even that guy but he's right

...

Thermite and Rook are my least like operators. Feel like I have to pick them though otherwise the team wont.

When I'm playing offense I don't pick my operator until someone else picks Thermite. If no one does then I'm forced to pick him.

I pick characters with guns I like most of the time and lock it in and then have to change last second when I realise no ones picked thermite.

French guy is GIGN, what special forces branch is the american one? SWAT?
Are they hardcore IRL like the GIGN?

t. silver player

>SWAT
>special forces
You can put the GIGN on the same level as Delta Force.

Thermite is SWAT, not too sure about how hardcore they are in IRL to be honest.

Murican is FBI SWAT

And is Delta Force good or nah? Because GIGN is pretty high tier.
When I say "special forces" I mean those intervention groups sent on special missions, don't know if there's another term for them in english.

Murica has the SEALS in game now too.

I'm aware user, I play the game plenty.

I want to hug IQ.
