WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS
Best tl;dr edition of doragonsu dogumasu.
The start of the game is really fucked because you have no idea what you are doing and can get into trouble easily. I hate to say it but since you can miss a lot of quests n shit because the games a bitch like that I would look up a quest guide if you want to do them all. Also escort quests are the worst and some other bullshit item collection ones if you skip over a very specific part you won't find 100x of the items and you'll be pissed forever like me because you have autism.
Otherwise enjoy.
I only played about 10 hours so far, but I really enjoyed it. A lot of really memorable gameplay moments. Story seems like absolute trash though.
Don't play as a girl. They are physically weaker and can carry fewer items, and their only advantage is a slight increase to dexterity which is pretty negligible even if you intend to go for Ranger or Arcane Marksman in the end.
Your pawn - Which is the companion you create yourself - Can be female if you wish, but make it good or other people will not wish to hire it which is hugely important for your income in the long run. I suggest you make your pawn a tank or warrior actually because it's the least commonly played main-class and thus many people want to hire one of those.
What else? Hmm.. Magic Knight is overpowered. Shields are great. You can use the environment to kill things with. Don't go in the water. And finally, don't delay any quests in which a person is in danger because 'real time' matters and the person will eventually die if you do not get there in time.
Should I make the main character a spellcasting little girl with a fuckhuge tank pawn or the other way around?
COILS OF LIIIGHT
Expect pic related.
The game is a masterwork, you can't go wrong!
On the whole gender part there is literally a group of lesbo assassin bandits that will attack you unless you are a female with all female pawns or are cross dressing.
Literally doesn't matter but if you go spell caster you either want to go magic knight or magic archer because they are cool/op as fuck
O! How I have seen the Dragon's Dogma!
Loli Arisen best Arisen.
Can carry like three items until I start getting slower, but DAMN am I fast when my inventory is empty! Arcane Marksman for life!
Unbound by time, all-binding, grand desiiiiiiign!
play the game as a manlet or loli
you go super fucking sanic fast
Gender doesn't affect stats in any way. It's a height/weight thing.
Heavy characters (male and female) are slow and can carry shit.
Light characters are quick and consume less stamina.
Tall characters walk faster, have longer reach and bigger hit boxes.
Short characters can get under enemies and enter goblin holes.
Are there any romance options?
every character in the game is romancable. even shop keepers.
Escort quests are indeed the worst.
That girl that is about to be owned by the Griffon? Yeah, that's my escort NPC..
You can carry more stuff if you're heavier and you also have a greater reach with melee weapons. You also don't get blown away as much and won't get drenched by walking through a puddle.
Midgets sprint lightning fast though.
It is like in fable?
Not true - Gender affects it as well, and the lightest characters can dash the furthest and has the most stamina. If you pick female, short, and skinny, you will be able to run so damn fast and jump so damn high that you can parkour through most of the game. Though a short little boy is fine too. I really prefer playing as a child of some kind in this game if going for Assassin or either of the archery options.
I've gone and went full Goblin Slayer with this game.
My next run through will have the Arisen as a shota sorcerer with a heug brown amazonian pawn.
I was very disappointed with the progression system. When I was 15 hours in and I was already capped on my character is around the time I dropped the game. It's not like I want to grind but when I have every skill unlocked for my class when I'm not even halfway through the game it makes the big empty world feel a whole lot more empty.
yeah kind of, the more you talk to a character the more they like you, and you can give them presents to grind out affinity if you want, and no spoilers but your relationship progresses at a point later in the game.
You can make your pawn be your pack mule, and make him carry all of your loot. If you act like a Jew for a while and loot everything fast and efficiently, your pawn will start mimicking your behavior and eventually will start looting things for you so you don't need to constantly trade it over. But note that most people don't like hiring the tanky pawns that combat-loot instead of protecting the team..
>Escort quests are indeed the worst.
Escort quests are great.
Everyone has a story to share how their escort got destroyed.
I mean, you know you can just use ferrystones, right?
You're only doing the actual escort shit for the journey
boring combat with shitty animations and 5 seconds stops when hitting enemies with a shit history
oh and a cute dragon
>great combat
>I never played this. What should I expect?
if its console version: about 10 FPS when casting spells
If PC version: then a fun game with a bare bones story that only gets interesting in the post game. Strider best class
>I mean, you know you can just use ferrystones, right?
What do I look like, some kind of casual? I'm going to fucking walk the whole way and suffer immensely the whole way through!
>make Arisen a bear of a man
>design a loli mage pawn
Kinda sucks to find out how your pawn will eventually look like in your MC's life story.
What? You play a warrior? Everything else is fun as hell. Someone got that webm of that dude immolating himself and then jumping onto a cockatrice's face?
Its rough around the edges but its fucking awesome. It does have that retro charm though, like capcoms games often have.
Might not float you boat, but if it does, you'll be very happy.
The DLC for this game is actually better than the main game, by the way. But I don't recommend you head out to the DLC island (It's a separate thing) until you've already beaten the primary story.
I hated it, it's bland
Please stop talking out of your ass. Gender doesent affect stats. Females cant become as tall as males and their maximum weight is less too. Weight has a cap on how much benefits it gives and females can attain it. How tall you are mostly affects run speed and weapon reach. Weapon reach is good for melee classes but for human players weapon reach isnt a big issue. For pawns being tall and melee is pretty important since if they are too short they can start missing attacks.
Basically if youre min maxing either be a short female if you dont want to get attacked and you arent a mainly melee class. For a melee class be big and heavy. For pawns always being tall and heavy is good for a few reasons.
No I played a mage and later the magic knight. Don't know about you but it's the exact kind of "cinematic expierence" I loath. You just hold down a button and then watch when the "awesome combat" happens. The missions are shit as well, way to many missions that's just escort missions over the same area over and over again.

Too bad the menu music in DDDA is just some generic shit, actually had to work it out and replace it with muh coils
Fun
Tiers for BBI in case you get there

Capable Tier
>Strider
>Fighter
>Mage
Why Tier
>Warrior
>DD
>cinematic
>No I played a mage
Literally pawn support class
That's exactly what I'm talking about
He's probably talking about the spells or some shit.
This is what happens when faggots ignore the bow classes. Or faggots who just play Strider and do nothing but spam Thousand Kisses and wonder why they're not having fun.
>sanic parkour lolis
>climbing enemies
>personal custom bodyguard
Man, this game sounds really interesting. I'm not sure about the class though, are hybrids ass in this game?
Meh, I'll take my wacky, Engrish J-rock.
>Spamming thousand kisses
>Not having fun
How does it feel to be a complete faggot?
>jump height mod
>fixed stat distribution mod
>body/weapon size ratio removal mod
>mfw jumping around as a qt shota with a giant sword
Hybrids are the best, but if you don't build right they can suck. My one complaint with the game is that if you don't min-max you'll really feel it in BBI.
Nigga DD is literally the least cinematic-combat game there is, as in you're in charge at all times.
>if they are too short they can start missing attacks.
They can also get sent flying fucking miles by the bigger enemies. As i found out when i played it years ago and thought it would be good to have a Black midget warrior
How are you expected to know only 1/3 of the classes are fun to play as?
>are hybrids ass in this game?
They're disputably the most fun and/or versatile.
Assassin is great fun, while the mixed magic classes are probably the best for going solo.
Well it gets boring if that's all you do. There's a good selection of fun knife skills, so just using the same one over and over is kind of a waste.
Really, because last time I checked it had auto-aim and "press a single button to cast spell and hold it down to cast a stronger spell".
A large, fun game with a solid story.
A sequel would need more fun monsters to hunt and kill and perhaps some sort of "hunters guild" or something that would warrant discovering and finding of these monstrous beasts.
What? Mystic Knight and Magic Archer are great, and channeling a giant fucking tornado, or meteor spell is awesome as a sorcerer.
Not him but as a mage that's what it's like, almost every other class is super involved.
We're gonna get a 30 second teaser trailer for DD2 at TGS, just before the first DMC5 trailer drops. Look forward to it.
I forget what button you press, but you can manually aim spells. Also you really should have experimented with other classes more.
>DD2
But user. It already exists
post yfw
>AS I WANDER COLD AND IMMANE
Are you dykelexic, that says 'online', not '2'.
okay so imagine dmc4
now split dante's moveset up into 9 classes
Now give each class a maximum of 6 skill slots.
remove enemy hop
remove juggling
add 3 party members, 2 of which belong to other players.
add big monsters and shadow of the collosus climbing
then you get dmc4 shallow rpg edition which is still better than 90% of wrpgs out there.
WITHER NOW MY MOTHER MY FLAME
you're actually encouraged to change your classes throughout the game and adapt your party accordingly
Oh stop trolling
You call that good combat? One kind of creatively thought up move? I'm with you on this but it's not exactly a convincing argument.
...
FLYING LEAPS
GUTS LIKE COMBAT
>What should I expect?
A fun game yet not the second coming of jesus that consolefags promoted.
Seriously, don't expect too much.
Fun combat and a few good battles but too many reskinned enemies and not enough location variety.
Are there any mods out yet that make a replay worth it? Apparently there was some extra enemies mod but its buggy or something.
How does Dragon's Dogma compare to Skyrim or Dark Souls?
there's an enemy size mod that changes enemy sizes at random (between 10% and 300%) and triples enemy numbers
It's sort of like a mix of them both, with a healthy dosage of Devil May Cry thrown in there for good measure, as well as some truly unique aspects that's never been done before. (Such as the Pawn system)
it's the DMC of aRPGs
My complaints for this game
>no button for curatives
>characters can't swim
>subpar inventory management
>no multiplayer
What the fuck happened there? Did he use fucking Sunflare whilst grappling? What?
>no button for curatives
Fixed in PC, you can hot slot items including lantern, very useful. I use a DS4 for this so I could map the touch screen to be the slot items.
no, he had several explosive arrows stuck in the skeleton beforehand
they got triggered on his way up
I'd love to see that happen in an open area
Armed bandits, Arisen!
He had explosive rivets in the mob which explode once hit with melee.
Magick archer is OP as fuck lategame because of this whilst setting yourself on fire with immolate.
>pic related
So what made it jump up in the first place? Was it just the skeleton jumping of its own accord?
Long walks on the beach, long walks in the forest
a bouncing arrow staggered him, the next bouncing arrow launched him and from there he got juggled to the ceiling
First I pelted the skeleton with explosive rivets. As you might know they explode when you attack them. I then did ricochet shot, which can launch an enemy upward. I grabbed on to him, waited for him to launch, then started attacking when the ricochet shots stopped launching the skeleton, so the explosive rivets went off and launched him again.
Name me a medium size enemy that you can climb on that is launchable and I'll give it a try.
Using immolation was so fun
wolfs hunt in packs
I became a sorc at level 10 from a mage, whats the soonest you recommend I should switch to MA, I'm not liking sorc much at all and don't even care about min-maxing to the point that I'd play this class to level 200 or whatever the fuck people recommended for min-max.
fuck man I dunno
the saurians close to devilfire grove might work, but they'll die in 2 seconds
there aren't any open places in BBI to try it with, really
Escort quests in this game are easier than escort quests in any other. You can pick up the noc and make a break for it. You can heal their wounds. You can fucking revive them from the dead if you have a wakestone on you. You can even skip the whole thing and warp straight to their destination. The fixed enemy spawns make it pretty easy to avoid fighting...
They could be way worse, and all of them are optional anyway.
Can you play this 100% solo without any dumb pawns following you?
If you arent going to play to lvl 200 then just stop as soon as you get all the perks you need from sorc. By the end game stat min maxing wont matter since the end game weapons give so much gamage.
yes
you'll have a bad time though
Depends on how much 'magic' you intend to use as the Magic Archer, really. Personally I don't think that there's many cross-skills from Sorcerer that's important and would only take it for the stat gains if I was interested in that type of build, but I think you're better off playing Ranger into Magic Archer most of the time.
Yes. It'll be hard as balls though because your pawns are basically as strong as you are, so being in a team of 4 is 4x the damage. Not to mention every class is strong against some monsters and weak against some, so whatever you roll some enemies will be tough. It's definitely possible though because most enemies are skill based rather than stat based excluding humans.
