Just got around to finishing this.

Why does NIntendo even try anymore? This is 100% guaranteed better than anything modern Nintendo could do with the series and it was made by a handful of fans. It's everything the next 2D Metroid should have been, and easily the best in the series since Zero Mission.

Where do I download this?

how's v1.1?
heard they fixed some graphical bugs, but since I never had those I didn't update

Not sure, I played 1.0 as well.

1.1 fixes a glitch where you could fall outside a room, and also adds a teleport pipe near the final area so you can leave easier.
1.1 also adds a new animation glitch on neutral jump.

>Why does NIntendo even try anymore?

But they don't try

>The room where the 5 Alphas charge at you at once
>I panicked because I thought they were gammas and instantly fucked off out of there until I was able to get the Gravity Suit
You gotta give it to the guy. That kind of stuff never happening in Metroid II is why so many of the surprises in AM2R catch you completely off-guard.

The entire game was full of interesting setpieces like that. I also liked how the further you get, the less it resembles Metroid 2 and the more it feels like a completely new Metroid game that just shares Metroid 2's themes.

Please assist.

Duck to charge your shinespark, then morph, then shinespark in ball form.

The ship you find somewhere on the surface that belonged to the researchers is probably my favorite area in the entire game. It's not huge but the atmosphere that is set there together with the music was brilliant.

Are you talking about the research team's camp? If not I think I might have missed that area.

>shinespark in ball form.

Excuse me? I can't zoom in ball form falling.

I never finished the game. I got bored with all the empty areas where all you do is run from one side of the screen to the other. The original Metroid might have been repetitive, but at least it kept you on your toes.

You find the researchers' camp somewhere inside the caves where you fight two Alphas. Then, when you come back with Power Bombs, you can bomb an area just outside the camp and use an elevator to find their ship, together with the rescue team's ship too.

It's just Metroid 2 Remake, why is everyone making it like this guy made a brand new metroid game.

Good remake I'll add.

>shinespark into ball form
>drop into lava
>jump into hole
>press A

They added a whole bunch of stuff, and it plays great.

Because it pretty much is a game of its own. It grabs some ideas and even some areas from Metroid II, but it adds so much more that the more you advance, the less you feel like it's a 1:1 Metroid II remake.

Duck before you fall into the lava, then go into ball form and drop into the lava, then jump in ball form and shinespark like you would normally.

That is my only real complaint. Some areas feel extremely dense with puzzles and hidden items, while others feel completely barren. Overall it wasn't enough to really detract from my overall enjoyment, but it was definitely noticeable.

Oh shit I definitely missed that, I'll go looking for it as I hunt down the rest of the items for 100%.

Because the game is about 30% remake 70% original.

>Start it
>Get to alpha metroid
>It dies in a few shots
>despite it being the first boss, it managed to be that shitty
This game really knows how to be reminiscent of the unsatisfying bullshit that the metroid series as a whole is

Well maybe if nintendo works for 12 years on a game a reuse assets from mega man zero and metroid fusion they might come close to this

This.

I also hate how it repeats bosses constantly throughout the entire game. You fight the same boss at least 20 times.

Post rare Arans

You realize you have to fight that same boss and improved versions of it a shitton of times? If it were harder, the game would get frustrating quickly.

Read the rest of my post. Even the hardest bosses in Metroid manage to be unsatisfying and AM2R only reminded me of that

Speaking of bosses, I love that they added Arachnus and Serris. Really made it feel more consistent with where the series went later with Fusion.

What is your definition of a boss?

>What is your definition of a boss?
Are you trying to imply I even said it wasn't a boss? Don't put words in my mouth because I don't like what you like

I had a hell of a time with Torizo and Tester on Hard. The Metroid fights are supposed to be glorified regular monster fights, really. And even then, sometimes the Metroid fights managed to keep me on my toes. Guess we experienced the game in different ways.

Which download source do I use?

The one you prefer.

I'm asking because I don't consider the metroid fights bosses, since the entire game is about exterminating them and there are only a few left of the entire species. They're just another lifeform native to the planet, not unique enemies that are bosses of an area.

But it might have viruses.

>Why does NIntendo even try anymore?
Because Nintendo is run by arrogant hipsters who don't give a shit about what the buyers want.

>Mega

>"The file you are trying to download is no longer available"

Worked for me :^)

Try another one then, genius

Find a new link then, bitch nigga

>"AM2R_11_copy.zip"

Seems real fucking legit.

>mfw Torizo second phase

You are given the MD5 for a reason. Make use of it if you are so suspicious.

You're an idiot.

>shinespark in ball form
Damn, this game sounds cool.

>Its another "I have a fat head and know what Nintendo can or can't do" thread

Please stop sucking dick so much
