I know that whether or not vidya is art is a hot topic on the intent, so let's see what UCLA has to say about it!
Plus, they have special video game classes, so let's look at these future videogame designers!

Man, wouldn't it be hype to play Metal Slug or Marvel vs Capcom on a backpack?
I hope these kids don't work on videogame hardware

Holy fucking useless.
dude politics in games lmao
Here's some actual games
Why are you even posting this?
I go to this school. Never even heard of this. UCLA isn't known for its "game" scene though. It's just autistic asians in CS programs and cute asian girls.
Ah shit, I can't play them right now, but someone needs to give them a try
Because I went to the UCLA site for a class, and this gem of an article appeared on the front page, so I had to take a look. Some of this shit is hilarious desu
But I'm pissed a "game class" is teaching kids about stupid politics, identiy politics, art shit in games instead of actual game design and programming. This is the future of the video game industry. Vidya is gonna get worse
gameplay is an art though
succulents are the cutest plants
Well, the way they talk about art with politics and cultural shit, makes me want games and gameplay to not be art.
They straight up say they don't want to teach a typical game programming class, but want to focus on wacky, indie, cultural games!:
Pretty much just liberal arts bullshit that has no real cred except with other like minded people.
>whatever
All the shit I avoid like the plague.
What do you expect? This is sponsored by the theater and art schools. The programming classes are in the school of engineering.
>"activating"
>"disrupts
late game critical theory was a mistake
Well it says there are computer science and engineering students among all the liberal arts kids: I'm assuming the liberal arts people can only do the 'BIG IDEA' game design and they have all the computer students actually execute the ideas with all the real programming and heavy lifting.
So, yes, I'm concerned about these kids getting real jobs as game designers thinking their shit makes for good games.
This is the same kind of shit that "game geniuses" like errant signal of Jblow push, some stupid drama, cultural, feeling shit over actual mechanics and interesting game systems
