The only thing wrong with Yoshi Valley is they didn't hide your position in the race when they remade it for MK8. I know they only did that in the original because hardware couldn't keep track of who was where with the multiple paths, but it should have been kept for legacy purposes.

wario stadium is GOAT if you and your friends know the shortcuts. it suddently becomes a huge risk vs. reward affair - attempt the shortcuts or just got the normal route.

True, but Wario Stadium is an awesome map, but you get even more fucked if you're shocked right before you make that jump near the finish line.

There's a niche indie game called Kirby Super Star.
In this game, there's a mode called Milky Way Wishes.
In this mode, there's a level called Hotbeat.

This level is the most fucking bullshit level in the game, and possibly the entire Kirby series. For the first section, everything is fucking coated to the brim with lava. Lava ceilings, lava walls, lava floors, you name it. One single, small mistake will most likely result in you losing your copy ability, and burning away half of your health. Your flying skills need to be fucking perfect here, or your ass is getting fucking roasted. This applies to almost all of the level.

The minecart sections and the cannon sections are barely even proper stages, they're simply gimmicks to pad out the level. Also, everything about lava mentioned before still applies here.

It's not a very difficult level (mostly because Kirby isn't hard, and you have infinite copy abilities at your disposal in Milky Way Wishes), but it's annoying as fuck unless you have perfect timing when it comes to flying through lava corridors and lava pillars.

This is "that level" for me that puts me off playing Meta Knightmare Ultra.
Meta Knightmare Ultra was already shitty enough on its own though.

I have never been able to make the shortvut by the starting line reliably. the giant fucking egg is a complete crapshoot too. Either you approach it and have room to zip past, or you have to wait for it to pass the bridge opening
