as far as i know this is the most common type of romhack you can get, they change the trade evolutions so you can just level up your mons like every other evo, or sometimes just use evolution stones for this kind of stuff

currently playing this Emerald romhack that makes Kanto and Johto mons avaliable locally which means each route and cave has like 5-8 different mons to find, items disabled and SET battles by default and increased difficulty curve and spikes to fuck you in the ass with all gym leaders now having 6 mons with smogon tier strategies, its frustrating as hell but it makes beating the gyms mean so much more to you

ROM and Romhacking forums are the most autistic forums I've ever been on.
For the longest time PokeCommunity had a rule where you couldn't share links to any tools unless you were the one who made them. So if you needed help with a tool, you had to pray that the developer was an active member.

The rule's been redacted, but lot of tools have become impossible to find, and may even be lost forever because of it.
