Hey Sup Forums, I just made a PSN account in preparation for my PS3
I made the account, spent an hour coming up with a PSN ID which was available finished registering and then I'm sent to another page to enter in my address and ENTER in my PSN ID AGAIN. What was the first one for? I supposedly can't use the one I came up with earlier because it's taken.
What's the difference between the first and second IDs? I know it's not the login thing because that's my email.
It said on the first ID if I hovered over it that it'd be visible to ALL my friends and what not. I'm really confused.
>I supposedly can't use the one I came up with earlier because it's taken. I guess the first ID is your user name. Second ID is your name as a person. The one you go by. The one you'll be referred to when emailed, such as >Dear John....
Jaxson Thomas
I recall right you pretty much have two IDs.
Ian Lopez
That doesn't make sense. They ask for your first and last name during registration.
When did this change happen? It's really thrown me for a loop because I'm OCD about my online names and I'm scared about which will be the public one.
Hudson Cooper
Your first ID is your "Real name" and shit. If it bothers you that much. Just make a fake name for that too.
Luis Williams
I'm very perturbed over this. What's worse is that PSN support's number is near impossible to find. I've looked for half an hour. Either my browser isn't loading their site right or it's really fucking hidden.
Luis Cook
Here's pic 1 of two. This the second page of the registration
Oliver Rodriguez
And here's after you've finished registering.
They appear to be the same fucking thing. They're both publically displayed?

can we talk about her butt instead?

And if you're wondering why I'm even making a fuss over this, it's because I found a name that I really really like. I was able to get it in the first one but in the second one it's telling me that name is taken. It's all very confusing. I just want that name.
Daniel Nelson
Sure, if you want. It's free bumps.
Brayden Brooks
Rethink if you want your thread to not be deleted.
Connor Hall
O-okay.
Charles Reed
You should have just waited until you got your playstation and made it on there, rather than on your computer. Probably a lot more simple.
Cameron Flores
yeah, I just wanted to get my username out of the way because I put a lot of thought into it. So this way I could get straight into the game without coming up with a name for ages.

This. Making an account on the console is the easiest and fastest shit ever.
You fucked up, OP.
Juan Smith
And how did you work this out?
Yeah well typing with the controller is SHIT, mate. And like I said, this lets me rapid try usernames I like.
An alternate login thingy and setting my PSN ID there. The other way wouldn't work at all and said my ID was taken when I had set it earlier, this one let me do it no problems.
All good now. What a fucking pain in the ass though. I don't know how Sony fucked that up.

Cooper Ramirez
Because you can't even set up a fucking PSN account. You spastic.
Elijah Bailey
Are you shitting me? Did you not fucking see that shit? It's not my fault the registration process fucked up. That is in no way my fault. I did everything just fine until it made me re-enter my ID which I did before. That's Sony's fault.
Kevin Carter
Thanks aniki.
So the first entry was asking you to enter your desired name and the next page was asking you to re-enter it because someone has a matching name? It was actually one question all along...
Jace Anderson
The ID it was asking me for was the same thing it asked me originally. The issue was I COULD NOT progress with the registration because if I put in the ID that I wanted and was available that I entered first, it would say it was taken. Who knows what would have happened if I put something else in.
