Disney made sure to cut every bond Mahvel had with Capcom so they could create their own mobile garbage F2P fighting game with moves that straight ripp off Street Fighter.
Marvel-related fighting games by Capcom are over and will never be a thing anytime soon unless the bonds are restored, wich i find unlikely.

Explain this then. Latest episode of the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. And it's not even the first time it references MvC stuff.

Plus, Marvel Games wants to get into traditional vidya stuff (like with Spider-Man PS4) and know that people are thirsting for new Mahvel. I'd say the chances of a new game are pretty good, higher than it's been in a while, but won't happen in a few years.
