Are you still mad?
Extremely
Yes, very much so.
No, it was pretty fun, and I didn't have to endure much of Kojima's shitty writing.
Quite good considering having the same team from MGS4 and PW was the biggest indicator that this game was going to be trash.
>kids still bashing 4 and PW
those games were FAR superior to TPP. PW was the main reason I was originally hyped as fuck for V.
>those games were FAR superior to TPP
They had horrible stories, basically the trademark of a Hideo Kojima game, and they had horrible gameplay, one because it was a mediocre polish of the already mediocre MGS3 gameplay, and the other because the controls, HUD and everything was just terrible.
>I didn't have to endure much of Kojima's shitty writing.
But this game had the worst writing in the whole series
>But this game had the worst writing in the whole series
It didn't have endless, overly long cutscenes with filler explanation.
And there was story in what, 5 missions?
Not to mention even if I skip all the cutscenes, I still have a lengthy game.
I bought this game almost a year ago and I havent even reached chapter 2
All games have shit writing going on about nothing though
i'm a meme
No, videogames in general have terrible stories, so it's not surprising.
Still entertaining game, always wanted a game where I could operate freely, and i'm not autistic enough to get into ArmA 3.
The directing of the cutscenes in this game was fucking awful - I have no clue how anybody could claim Kojima is a good director with all the slow motion bullshit and longshots he pulled.
Every cutscene was overlong, awkward and rarely had a bearing on a fucking thing in the game.
>overlong
It has the shortest cutscenes in the franchise tho.
Not to mention story should always be a secondary element in videogames.
In fact, a videogame should be able to stand on it's own even if you completely rip out the story.
I'm sad of the wasted potential.
There has been no other third person game that made me have this much of control on a character.
The one to one animation, the running, the sprinting, the diving, the shooting, the subtle movements, everything was fantastic in terms of controls.
Every other third person seem like 10 year old unfinished prototypes with clunky controls and crappy animation.
GZ and TPP made me want an open world with these controls.
Goddamn it man, we'll never get a GitS with these controls.
I even played to death MGO 3 because of the controls and the customization but goddamn I hate playing it.
I'll give Survivor a shot though.
this is what happends when you milk a franchise that should have ended with 4.
>I'll give Survivor a shot though.
Hope you are ready for DLCs out the ass and microtransactions.
MGS needs to die already.
>bought it three months ago for 15 euros from amazon, just to see where all the shitposting came from
>went in with zero expectations
>it's actually a very enjoyable game
I put roughly 60 hours into it by now and I'm not mad at all. If you got overhyped on Kojima's ruse cruise you only have yourself to blame
>Survivor
I was never mad. It's not as good as the original trilogy but I didn't expect it to be. It's considerably better than PW and approximately 1000000000000^10 times better than MGS 4
>4 better than anything
lol who's the kid again?
N, they made a good game, and it was their fault it was unfinished, it was Konami's
>reinstalled
>turned on reflex mode for the first time
>suddenly its 5x more fun
I agree that the brand should die and Konami should just use a different name but those controls don't need to go to waste.
I might not be in for the long haul with all the dlc and whatnot but i'm in to give it a shot.
Mad? No.
Still playing? Yes.
TPP is the most misunderstood game since MGS2. The subtext of it all flew a vocal minority their heads and the complaints are basically the same:
>"Muh not what the trailers promised"
>"Muh snake"
It's even worse now, since even the gameplay seems to be misunderstood. Pro tip: tranqing and fultoning every soldier is entirely unnecessary and a waste of resources. Learn to manage MB properly.
At the same time, every big scoring site like metacritic all points to the game being extremely well crafted. Literally the same thing happened with MGS2. Kojima literally did it all over again a second time.
This is just another thread filled with anons who claim the love the franchise, but they probably didn't even beat a single MGS on european extreme or hell, even collected the frogs in MGS3.
They just expected different things from the story (jokes on them for being fooled by ANY MGS trailer in the history of the franchise) and couldn't overcome their self imposed disappointment.
After experiencing part of Kojima's vision for the project and reading about the original plan for a singular piece(one game with three chapters: Ground Zeroes, Phantom Pain, and the Final Chapter), I have only sympathy for Kojima Productions. Konami, on the other hand, can go to hell.
Take a moment and just think about the work that would have been created if KP could have taken the extra time needed. Think about the game MGSV would have been if Kojima had been allowed to present it in a finished state.
Infected DD member = a lost chapter
Venom = Kojima Productions
Emmerich = Konami
Kaz = gaymer
This
Damn. That actually works really well. Good work, scholar.
I'm buying Metal Gear Survive and you can't stop me, even if it's $60. Stay bootybamboozled.
>the former Finnish chief of defence is called Ari Puheloinen
>Puheloinen translates literally into "speech parasite" (puhe + loinen)
????
Bruh, Denovu's been cracked. There's no need to feed the monster more currency.
>fultoning every soldier
>waste of resources
Blatantly false, unless you're literally at the end-/post-game. Even a DDDDD soldier is better than no soldier at all.
No, I replayed it and realized it's a great fucking game.
You go in with realistic expectations and the knowledge that Kojima geniunely wanted to try something different you'll find it's still one of the most impressive games of the generation.
MGSV actually sort of reminded me of why I loved Metal Gear, because it's not afraid to try something new, even if it doesn't always succeed.
>denuvo being cracked matters in any way to a multiplayer only game
are you retarded?
Spotted the shitter who played the entire game with a tranq sniper rilfe, a tranq pistol and kept on calling for supply drops.
You only really need to extract soldiers at very early game. Once you unlock deployments you can uprank your initial load of soldier through the volunteer system, online and/or offline deployments and the PF grade systems.
Extracting anything else but high ranked soldiers, vehicles, weapons and containers once you unlock deployments is a complete waste of resources and will only fill up your waiting room.
This. Not to mention that it's entire structure allows it to be enjoyed in episodic chunks.
I haven't bought a game since.
I was never mad to begin with.
Haven't played it yet, though I've owned it for about 4 months. Really should get on that.
No. I'm pretty much over it. Ironically the game I thought would save gaming for me ended up disappointing me so much it forced me to start enjoying other games more.
>tfw I can actually enjoy replaying MGS4 now
So instead of filling those vacant slots on your platforms, you'd rather just leave them vacant until you get that unique snowflake of a super soldier instead of temporarily filling the vacancy with a less-than-optimal soldier? That's not efficient, at all. There's also nothing stopping you from ranking up your old troops while fultoning new ones.
No you dolt. You don't have to leave anything vacant.
Step 1: You fill up MB in the early game (you are at least right about this)
Step 2: You unlock deployments and let your combat team go on recruitment runs
Step 3: You use the PF points to get high ranked soldiers that are unavailable
Optional step 4: You steal high ranks from others through FOB missions.
Once you start doing recruitment runs (and with the volunteers you get from completing missions) you no longer have to fulton every tard out in the field.
Worst case scenario and you expand your MB faster than the volunteers/recruitment missions can handle (which likely is never to happen) you can always go into free roam and snag some soldiers and complete side-ops (which also net you volunteers).
About ranking up your old troops, sure, I've said that before. It's worthwhile to be on the lookout for HIGH ranks out in the field. But only high ranks. W/e high ranks means for you depend on your progress into the game obviously.
Everything else is just pissing away GMP.
The point of it all is, that it is in no way required for you to tranq and fulton your way through the game. You can ghost, kill or do whatever the fuck you want thanks to the way mother base works.
i love it, i hold it high with the other games in the series aside that piece of shit hack n slash spinoff
Why would I be mad when Kojima LITERALY made 99% of his fan base blind with rage based on a fucking lie?
i loved it
Wut?
This. Except I hold TPP in a slightly lower regard to the rest of the main series.
It was worth the amount I paid for it
im just glad it had more playable content than 4
>Are you still mad?
Of course not, I paid $60 for the game and I have played over 400 hours, Its a damn good game, also, there's nothing more satisfactory than killing an invader in you FOB
TPP is only bad story wise, game play its the best.
For me gameplay
5>3>PW>2>1>PO>4
Story wise each game is hit or miss,. With alot of misses
I was never mad. Mostly just amused at the reaction. Those streams when the game leaked were some of the most fun times here for me.
MGSV had the worst writing in the whole series.
Your argument of quantity is stupid.
Shit on a plate is still shit on a plate. It doesn't taste any better if it's a small plate.
>Your argument of quantity is stupid.
It's not, because I have to endure less amount of shit, not to mention MGS writing has always been absolutely terrible.
I'm an adult and can manage my expectations, as opposed to you children who seems to do an awful lot of complaining about "overhype", but curiously seem to keep falling for it. So, no.
He's one of those twats that's convinced that Venom is actually a delusional Big Boss despite all the evidence in the game that says otherwise.
