Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

Is it good? I can't remember the last time the "definitive" version of the game wasn't fucked up.

how do I know if my game's updated? will it say anniversary edition in steam? I think I got it from the Humble Bundle so I doubt its been upgraded

All they really did it fix the multiplayer, add modern resolution support and added some balance changes. If you're interested, read the changelog

The game works fine and includes the expansion.

Yup

You get a new game listing in your Steam library. It's categorised as a seperate game altogether

I think they just add it to your library if you have the original.

It's a separate entry in your library, you have to install it like any other game.

They say that they added some new stuff, heroes or something like that. Dunno if it's true. Haven't seen anything especially new yet.

It's an improvement though, you used to have to download titan quest and immortal throne separate, then you had to run titan quest to install it THEN run immortal throne to rune the full experience. Fucking hoops for nothing. One install is nice.

Well, the new heroes etc are in the changelog, so I would guess it's true

found it lads, thanks

maybe a general thread on /vg/ could work

more like /vr/

keep this shitty gameboy looking game away from Sup Forums and /vg/ lmao

I couldn't not play this game like an autist which is maxing out the class stats before investing in abilities.

Wouldn't say no to it, if it happened, especially if a decent mods scene popped up around it.

Until then, builds?

How's the multiplayer with randoms? Is it tolerable? Will people bully you?

Good taste in games brotha
Except for Starbound

...

Any euros here who are up for a fresh playthrough?

How are you supposed to know what to pour stats/points into in these type of games without consulting a build guide?

You can undo all your skill points and try again, simple.
The only exception is the ones you put into your left bar to unlock new abilities.

It's not game over if your points aren't put into the optimal skills

>to the moon
>good taste in games

Don't be afraid to experiment.
This game is generally trying and making new builds and sharing it with the community.
There's no 'ideal' build.

>implying To The Moon isn't good

>To the moon
>anything other than shit

Find out what kind of gear your want to use.

Heavy armor requires strength, for example. So you have to keep that stat current if you want to use new gear.

Invest in health and energy when you no longer need the stat investment for gear.

>Invest in health and energy when you no longer need the stat investment for gear.

That's not the case anymore senpai

+ Bleeding Damage now increases by 10% per 50 dexterity
+ Poison damages now increase by 10% per 50 dexterity
+ Physical DoT now increases by 10% per 50 intelligence
+ Vitality Decay Damage increases by 10% per 50 intelligence
+ Life Leech and Mana Leech increase by 2.5% per player level
+ Pirecing damage now depends less heavily on Strength and more on Dexterity
+ Physical damage from abilities and item bonuses now scales with Strength (10% per 65)
+ Pierce damage from abilities and item bonuses now scales with Dexterity (10% per 100)

You can't undo attributes though. I never understood why you can respec one and not the other.

True, that's why it's wise to ALWAYS have extra points in reserve if you found a good piece of gear and you don't have the stats for it.

Did they completely forget to have magic scale with stats to, now that the others are? Or are we to understand lightning, cold, fire, and dreams weird ass damage type should be completely ignored now?

elemental dmg scales with int too
that guy forgot to include it
its even in tooltip

No they didn't, you still get +elemental damage with INT ALSO
>+ Elemental Damage % bonuses now also boost fire, cold and lightning DoTs

Just go full storm ice monster and rape satyrs bro

Does electric burn count as elemental? Honest question, dream's damage type has always been pretty weird.

I'm thinking of a Dream/Storm build. If anyone has build advice I'm all ears.

I'm so sorry you have a shit taste.

>non-random levels

HA HA HA HA

Tell me more about your 'feels' and how you got 'man tears' you fucking casual

>Does electric burn count as elemental?
Yes.

Storm is literally full mage senpai, the best combo with it is probably nature or spirit.

>random shit instead of detailed scenery

randomly generated levels are always garbage

fuck off PoE shitter

Playing for the first time, I'm going with a pure dream build for now. I've put skillpoints in the sleep spell, will it ever be worth it? Right now it seems shitty because while it lets me pick enemies one by one in a crowd, it has a casting time that's too long compared to the sleep duration.

I don't really want to go nature. Spirit would add a nice pet and some decent spells, but my general intent is to find a way to combine storm and dream's caster abilities.

It's the nice thing, it has great melee potential, that I often pair with Hunter or Defense. I'm trying to get it to work with Storm, somehow, as a caster class.

ENJOY YOUR NONEXISTENT REPLAYABILITY

People have been replaying this for years, so, meh.

How many types of weapon does the game have?
Daggers/Swords, axes, maces, spears, bows and staffs?

Playing through a randomly generated level once is about as painful as playing through a designed level for the 20th time.

Your PC isn't a very good designer.

Yes.

That sleep spell is shit user, go for the wave spells and auras.

Well, storm is not that good in meele, i prefer to just cast those ice knifes like a madman.
And dreams is just never bad, that mastery goes well with anything.

Probably gonna play as a warfare + spirit now

I've actually played it for like hundreds of hours in the course of last 10 years, so no, fuck you.

You can add shield as a weapon too, with the defense mastery you pretty much punch satyrs with your shield. Too bad you can't have 2 shields

I'm not planning to go melee, so I wasn't really concerned with storm being melee. Like I said, Dream has melee and caster elements, the concept is to try and combine the caster elements of dream with storm.

Was looking for advice on that. I'm thinking maybe the mana regen trance that also regens health and adds some absorb. Use the ranged dream attack as on cooldown with a dot effect, put storm spells in between its cooldowns.

Probably going to concentrate on lightning.

Elemental weapon + storm auras/passives/buffs = strong meele dmg

It becomes even better some specific items, i remember that are quite a few battle mage sets in the game.

>that sleep spell is shit
Alright, thanks for the tip, I'll take the points out of it when I have the chance.

Could you give me some more build advice? I'm playing as a Dream mage, and maxed out that skill that causes your regular attacks to cause eletric burn.

It's strong enough that I'm burning through enemies, but the thing is that I'm using a staff. So my attacks are slower, and I could be causing much more eletric burn with a faster weapon.

I'm thinking about changing for a meelee build, since I'm at level 16 and haven't thrown spells until now. The attack spell didn't seem too interesting because I'm sure I can do more damage just causing eletrical burn.

So is meelee Dream better than magic, and what other class should I pick? I've looked into Storm, but it doesn't have any attack that causes eletrical burn.

Wish I had the story on hand about how one of the devs confesses the facts of how hard Titan Quest was neutered by the SJW publisher because of fear of it being offensive.

I'm not building for melee.

sleep is an amazing control spell, and you need only a single point iirc

99% of the time;

Dump stats into armor/weapon requirements then whatever stat increases damage

Normally I dont spend my stats until I need to because of item requirements, and if im losing then ill dump some into damage

That depends user, if you are going mage, i would say it's better to let dream be your second(last demanding) skill point mastery and focusing instead in your heavy mage one(like storm or fire).

If you like meele, go for hunting(if you like spears) or defense(if you like shields) or if you want to go full decay boy, go for more poison, in the end, there is no wrong build.

I understand, well, i don't like to work around spells with huge cool downs to do dmg.

One point it okay, but it's situational as fuck.

What was even neutered about it? Gorgon tits? Or like story elements? There are plenty of wacky things going on in Greek myths but if that stuff got censored (cannibalism, incest, homoeroticism, rape, beastiality, torture) I would call that nomad censorship so they didn't get an M rating, not necessarily SJW-based.

Been wondering if I should go champion or thane, and ended up going champion. May roll a thane later

Which of the two kicks ass the most?

Fucking hell, I meant "normal censorship"

Someone explain "Offensive Ability" to me? I have a ring with +18 Offensive Ability.

Think of it as accuracy. Higher Offensive ability increases chance to hit and your critical hit chances.

Defensive ability is the counter to that, chance to dodge and chance to avoid a critical. as you level stats will increase it, and enemies will dodge more blows and so forth

It dictates how hard you trigger people.

And defense ability dictates how defensive you get over minute things. The higher the number, the less it takes to offend you.

The game explains it if you hover over it.
The higher your OA is compared to your opponents defensive ability. The higher you chance of hitting or criting will be.

I think it's basically hit chance and crit chance.
It's countered by defensive ability

The fuck is there to neuter in TQ?

Satyr lives matter or what?

the nymph you summon from the nature mastery runs like a complete retard lmao

Maybe gorgon tits and the weirder greek myths? Fuck if I know. Maybe they thought ragdoll physics should be renamed skelldoll physics.

>mfw hitting a satyr so hard it goes off the screen

I bet he is talking about a letter from satyr to his mom you can find in act 1. Shit is funny.

>THQ

You are thick

>takes everything and then leaves the game
Fuck online.

So...

What skill should I first invest into after maxing Hunting mastery and going spear hunt+defense?

Volley? Other hunting passive? Or should I go straight for defense mastery?

That's why I play these games solo or with a friend.

All i wanted was to play this game online with an user or two. Just relax, watch a few movies while chatting and killing monsters.
I can never have anything nice.

just have 2 wolves and a couple of beastcaller rings and I already feel like a bonemancer from d2

>loot while my pets bulldoze white mobs instantly and hero mobs in 3 seconds

Can't wait to get my ghost warrior dudes in warfare tree

This game is fucking ass, finished act 1 and 2 by just running through the linear maps with 2 damage/debuff aoe abilities up and maxed out with stacked +hp/mp regen equips, literally nothing can touch me

It feels pretty dated.

Still pretty fun mind.

>he doesn't know about the dragon chicken in act 3 or the hades archers in act 4

Every arpg ever is easy on 1st difficulty.

IIRC Titan Fall didn't really have any build at all similar to a summoner necro in D2. It's a real shame.

>the game is challenging but first you have to snore your way through 20 hours of easy mode
yeah, no, it's shit

This is how every ARPG has worked, ever.

If you don't like the genre, that's fine, but try not to sound like such an uninformed baby.

Soulvizier was pretty challenging from lvl 1, i hope they update it for this new anniversary version.

>find kickass axe of mass destruction
>add Prometheus flame to it for additional wrecking
>one of the affixes makes me not regenerate health
>gotta change my combat dynamics to keep my health up
Gotta say, I love this game's itemization and gearing

It is pathetic that the best hack and slash shit is on the PS2. The game can rape you on your first playthrough if you aren't careful. It has shit suicide bombing goblin that can instantly kill you, a line of spear throwing goblins trying to skewer you up.

Shield is button activated rather than just a shitty %. It also contain tiddies.

>This is how every ARPG has worked, ever.
name one arpg where you can just run through the wilderness instakilling anything that gets near you without even clicking, pro tip, you can't

>remake the game and add additional mod support
>don't revamp the how game handles the mods (i.e. every mod just creates a separate main campaign, so it's impossible to combine them without doing yet another mod)
Fucking great, what's the fucking point then. Now I have to wait for something like Soulvizier or DAIL, or make a completely custom build from the different mods

>use warwind against a skellington horde
>they fan out off the screen

Is hunter dream still the most broken, OP class combo? The hunters spear skills paired with trances and that leaping/teleport stab skill from dream absolutely wrecks everything

FUCK

Do you know how I know that you've never played any of those?

No, you can't do that in any of those lmao

are there mods for unnerfing dream yet?
no chance in hell i will buy it when they shat all over my favorite class

...

I started sword and shield soldier, it'd seems kinda slow going st the beginning.

Occultist/shaman bleed build is insane tho, I wish I didn't have so many actives or I would be putting a shit ton of points into bloody pox.

Shaman thor build is the most fun tho, even if early on it's just left click spam

Can someone give a general overview of all the "classes" possible? The only wiki I found was incredibly out of date and didn't really answer any questions.

Dream is not that bad, user. It's just not shamelessly overpowered anymore. Still effective and in no way inferior to other choices
