Why does no one talk about Lunar around here? Wasn't it one of the most revolutionary RPGs of its time? Or should I be posting this on /vr/?
Why does no one talk about Lunar around here? Wasn't it one of the most revolutionary RPGs of its time...
Other urls found in this thread:
probably /vr/ honestly.
does this look like a videogame board to you?
Why would people arbitrarily talk about some ancient game.
However I agree the game was very cute and fun.
There's a Lunar thread on /vr/.
I forgot Sup Forums hates videogames
Just checked it out. The thread got quickly derailed into terminology wars and Sup Forumsitics
The video was revolutionary, but the game play wasn't. I anyways consisdered it a great example of early /mid 90s jrpgs.
As for why nobody talks about it,the last releases were a remake on a system nobody owns and an awful prequel that did a lot of dumb shit
It's super overhyped.
Isn't it coming to Steam?
It's too "weeaboo" and "old" for neo-Sup Forums to want to have anything to do with it.
Sup Forums is mostly about overwaifu and talking shit of no man sky, so don't bother, cool game though
>Wasn't it one of the most revolutionary
Literally how?
Please no
Only started playing this on an emulator a month ago
Read Also one of the first games to feature (limited) voiceacting
I heard the psp remake was easy, is it true?
The video? What video? FMV cutscenes?
Nope. Tengai Makyo did redbook audio, cutscenes and voiceacting in 1989 and the first JRPG to do so in the west was Ys 1 & 2 in 1990 when it released in NA. Lunar came out 4 years after the advent of CD JRPGs and was thus nothing new except for Segafags.
Yes
Lol, no one had a TurboGrafx-CD in 1990.

>buy a Sega CD
>it breaks and game repair place can't fix it
>Lunar the Silver Star and Dune CD just collecting dust
Lunar 2 is waaaaay better.
Didn't this game have Ashley Angel from O-Town as one of the people?
>lunar
>good
The stories and characters are boring and the battle system sucks.
But this is normal JRPG cutscene faire. Ys did it two years before Lunar, so I would hardly call it revolutionary. Hell. I'd say it corporated it even better by adding voiceovers on top of gameplay.
Sounds like /vr/ alright
It's fucking /vr/. If Victor Ireland is mentioned, you bet the thread is going to get shit on.
Man, I really need to replay this series.
I remember getting both SSSC and EBC (and Alundra 2, iirc) on a thrift store back in the early 00's and spending the whole summer playing them. What a ride.
I'm replaying silver star story.
It's way more linear than I remember, and I hate the old dragon warrior-y "gear upgrades only come out of shops" thing.
I love jrpgs but the first game was absolutely painful to finish for me. I liked the second one though.
SCD > PS >>> PSP >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GBA
If you want actual video game discussion try going to /vr/
I never played silver star, but I got the box for eternal blue with the necklace and shit. I really liked it
I had the Ghaleon punch puppet but I traded it for a Bart Simpson one when I was a stupid kid.
...Jesus Christ.
