In nioh's case, its because they are betas. They're only suppose to test things like networking and balance. TN decided to add the whole "mark of the conqueror" aspect to it, giving people a reason to actually play the demo within the time constraints.

The NEO is going to offer 4k BLU-RAY (Not video games) support. And the internals aren't going to actually make the games look any better then they actually are. It'll just allow certain things to run "better". Mainly, more consistent frame rate instead of constantly dipping down.
