Finally got around to playing it
I'm on Prime 1 (of course). Do i actually need to scan every orange thing? I dont wanna waste my time scanning meaningless shit, so i thought I'd ask you guys
Yes.
>don't want to scan meaningless shit
Wrong game for you pal. It's all about the lore.
No, you mostly don't have to scan it all
I mean, it depends on what kind of run you're going for. If you want 100% scans, then scan every computer-looking thing that's got a red square and every boss and enemy.
YOU CAN'T CUT BACK ON SCANNING
YOU WILL REGRET THIS
But what about all the orange squares? I'm barely into the game and they're everywhere.
You don't have to scan it all, but if you're trying to rush through the game then you're playing it wrong. It's not really a shooter, it more slow-paced.
Nah, im enjoying it so far. And i didn't say it was meaningless, I just didnt know if it actually was meaningless or not
I'm not rushing, i actually find it satisfying, but i didn't know if i didnt need to or not. Thanks for the help
MOST of the orange squares are skippable, but note the keyword.
Seriously though
The only scans you "need" to get are the ones that get added to the logbook, and even then it's just completionist stuff that unlocks gallery images and so on. I don't know if it unlocks something else in Trilogy as well. If you're going for this, remember that some bosses may have several scans that will become missable.
The orange scans can sometimes be pretty interesting and funny, especially when you're reading logs left by Space Pirates.
Yeah, I've enjoyed it so far. Also the scans that i "need" for the log book, are those just red squares of can it also be orange squares? Or is it random? (Either way ill probably scan most things, im just curious)
They're always red
Orange squares are pure flavor text, though I think some will activate elevators or doors. Red scans are log entries which are also flavor text, but give log completion percentage and deeper insight to the lore.
you mean the?
Nope. They're just flavour text, the only scanning you need to do is activating elevators.
SCAN
EVERYTHING
Post the one about metroids are not pets
Getting lore percent dictates what ending you get. 100% on prime 1 and 2 gives you real ending
Skip 3
scan shit: the game

And also
tiem for some tuuuuubes
(Also AM2R is fucking awesome, playing it now in honor of the Metroid anniversary)

>there will never be a Metroid / Ace Combat crossover
The chozo proving the they can science just as g
>That one log by the space pirates where they tried to replicate samus's morph ball and had horrible incidents.
The "real" endings are just short teasers for the next game. They were fun when the next game wasn't available yet, but I don't think you're really missing out on anything now if you don't get them.
And by real ending he means "Samus takes off her helmet"
good as pirates
I gotcha senpai

A lot of it is flavor text which you may or may not find interesting. It's mixed with lore about the world you're exploring.
Scanning bosses gives you both flavor and hints about how to fight them.
There's the hand coming out of the Phazon with the eye and Dark Samus reforming herself in space and flying off.
...
I want a science team explanation of how they managed to capture Samus in Fed Force.

Where's the well drawn one

Maybe they used one of those EMP things that fucks up your mech in one of the final missions?
...
My favorite piece of lore in Metroid Prime is in Magmoor Caverns and is about how the crystals you see around the cavern are worthless to Space Pirates but hold great value to the "Monks of Grondheim" and the Pirates plan on using that info to their advantage.

Scanning isn't necessary but for autistic lorefags like myself it gives the chance for a very immersive experience.

Last one I got of tuuuubes related content
But have a reaction image anyways cause I love you guys

We can all agree Prime 3 is shit right?
A bit too linear, but the world designs were fantastic
read all the lore you fucking dunce, open your log book every 30 minutes of playing and read the info about the world your playing in
>not caring about the metroid prime trilogy unlockable concept artwork
i fucking hate this thread
No.
sorry for the shit quality,
kekked
I will just replay the real games, thanks.
im just going to be 100% blunt and honest but if you think that am2r isnt better than the original then you are WRONG
This will always be my favorite.
>organism that feeds on life energy

How did it eat the candy in the first place?
>See organic thing

Can't be a comfy Sup Forums thread without that one guy who tries to be le funny and call people dumb
Chozo Bird Magic.
I'm pretty sure that Prime 1's secret ending is the only thing that explicitly tells you that Metroid Prime and Dark Samus are one and the same.
I don't care. I have played the original many times through the years, and there are plenty of games to play without dipping into glorified Lunar Magic creations.
...
You misunderstand me, I've 100%'d all the goddamn Metroids (except Hunters and FF) but I'm not about to force my completionist opinions down someone's throat.
>only the regular burger
Someone fire these pirates

>He doesn't want to learn about the material properties of Bendezium
What's wrong with you?!!
Brinstone > Bendezium
You don't NEED to scan anything at all, except for the access panels that control elevators and such. It's recommended to scan enemies to learn their weaknesses, but you don't have to do that either. Everything else is just lore, which is skippable if you don't care about it.
Yea I know but he asked if they helped you get anything. It helps you get the teaser which also clues you in on the next game a tad instead of going what the fuck is dark samus? And wtf I thought dark samus was dead. also even though I know what happens I still think it's cool to get those endings
God I wish I had a chance to grab asmr 2 but was outta country so missed it
Someone give this nigga the magnet link

I'm considering emulating this on Dolphin with M&KB, which I suspect is way easier than the waggle bullshit.
Aren't there difficulty levels that unlock at completion? I fucking hate that shit. How do I have these available from the get go? I want to start playing on the hardest difficulty.
>Aren't there difficulty levels that unlock at completion?
Honestly don't remember.
>How do I have these available from the get go? I want to start playing on the hardest difficulty.
Look for a completed save, download it, and put it where ever dolphin stores that shit.
Not as good? Sure. Shit? No.
Kill yourself, corruption was amazing
www.geckocodes.org/index.php?c=R3ME01
Nigga I love you
Yeah there are, definitely for Corruption, I know because I got stuck at the final boss run for that.
Prime has one too, can't remember if Echoes did but that was hard enough already, especially on the GC version
Lore completion only unlocks more stuff in the art gallery. Item completion gets you a different ending.

Metroid has the potential to be the most inspired and amazing space sci-fi video game series ever.
It too bad it's stuck in the retarded hands of Nintendo.
