What went wrong?
What went wrong?
nothing?
gameplay was a boring grindfest
story left the player completely unengaged
characters were written by tumblr
It's not a great game, but still miles better than 2.
Dragon's Dogma does everything Inquisition does but better. Yes even story.
It exists.
Nobody has found the reason why though.
Did anything? I mean, it was a Ubisoft type open world collectathon game, people love that shit right? Even people here like The Witcher 3.
Pandered too hard to SJW crowds, They retconned Qunari views so hard its unforgivable
>What went wrong?
Open world design in a game that didn't have enough interesting gameplay to keep that entertaining. DA:O was great, but imagine that but you have to walk through all the pretty empty environments with constant enemy encounters to get anywhere. That's pretty much what Inquisition turned into. It's fun enough to play as is, but making you trek all over boring, empty environments just to collect random bits of shit or close tear number seventy-six drains what was good.
Add to it a rather predictable and boring story even for Bioware with a dull villain, the continuing Mass Effect dialogue bullshit that was hated in DA2, boring characters or even outright obnoxious ones, and graphics where everything looks last gen alongside character models that look like they were drenched in oil and you've got a pretty terrible package.
If you truly think this I weep for you
>Heavy armor looks putrid
>Has that grindy MMO feel
>No slutty outfits
>KE and reaver are game breaking
>Shitty hair options
>Sera
It felt like they went with quantity over quality for this game. It had the illusion that there was a lot to do when it was all really just fetchquesting(buy a whole lot of it).
I didnt finish the game. I started playing it, put about 5-8 hours into it in total until someone told me the game picks up and gets way better once you get to that new headquarters place after being attacked by the main baddie. Well things didnt really get much better and i called it quits.
Its literally the only game ive ever regret paying full price for because its the only game i own that i havent finished or have no intention of finishing
Fetch quests and tumblr tier characters.
Alright game though.
Bioware somehow found a way to make faces more ugly then ever before
What's the opinion on Origins? I just replayed and it's not as good as I remembered
>Playing Dragon age again
>literally tumblr the rpg
>muh privileged human royalty
>muh oppressed elves
>They retconned Qunari views so hard its unforgivable
really? What did they do?
It's better than I remembered. But I went from ps3 to master race.
I thought it was pretty disappointing from the start.
Not sure how it gained such a reputation as a classic on Sup Forums, when it first came out opinion was divided.
It's an RPG that only has like 2 hours of plot combined across the entire game and most zones are completely unconnected to the plot.
The war table is also fucking garbage. It's nothing but a hassle to progress with it and it brings nothing to the table (huh!) to justify its miserable existence.
They went from being militaristic, patriarchal Muslims in Origins and 2 to bisexual trans-accepting multiculturalists in Inquisition.
No idea why it's so popular, it's mediocre now and it was mediocre when it came out.
new age feminist cancer
bioware has no clue how to do open world
I have hundred of hours in it and really thought it was one of the best new IPs of that entire generation of xbox 360 games. If a games not for you, its just not though
Dull. They put most of their marketing hype into, "Hey guys, remember when we made those old CRPGs you loved so much? Well we have SOME of the same people back to cash in on that nostalgia!"
The result was a derivative fantasy world where your choices don't actually matter (you get railroaded down certain plot points regardless), the vanilla graphics were shit, the combat was painfully by-the-numbers, and the story wasn't all that interesting. I think people followed it because of Morrigan, but that's all it really had going for it.
Devil's advocate, elves got exposed as morons who blew themselves up.
More devil's advocate, Sten was convinced a female warden was a men.
Not defending this shit, just trying to be fair.
my turd is miles better than DA2
Well I have no idea which games that would include. Perhaps it's just the best of a bad bunch.
>Spiritual successor
They got me with that one.
Oh yeah, that was a game, wasn't it?
>boring gameplay
>boring "open" world with nothing to do in it
>boring quests
>unsatisfying ending
>many of the companions are annoying/cringe worthy
>no more setting ai tactics like Origins and DA2
Not the worst game in existence, but it was a big let down compared to Origins.
>a game that's dependant on good story and characters
>have SJW write it
>be surprised it ends up a complete worthless piece of garbage
That's not the problem with the game really.
A complete lack of story is the issue, there's hardly even enough of it to trigger Sup Forums.
it was much better than Witcher 3 gameplay wise
I dont think I ever had to not repeatedly press left click in Witcher 3 except for three fights. The Eredin fight, shadows in HoS, and final vampire fight in BnW
Bioware is an incompetent dev. That's what went wrong.
They had what, 4 years to work on this game?
You can blame EA for Dragon Age II because they wanted that game in 9 months.
But this? I think BIoware had a bit too much creative freedom and budget, and they couldn't deliver a good open world game.
>But this? I think BIoware had a bit too much creative freedom and budget, and they couldn't deliver a good open world game.
Bioware got taken over by EA. They are no longer Bioware but another puppet of EA
