>goes from simple mercenary to the hero who liberated Crimea from the Mad King >saved Tellus from a goddess >can solo the first game he's in >top tier unit in RD >doesn't give a fuck if he hurts your feelings >defeated the Burger King and avenged his father >tops popularity polls and will forever be one of the most popular FE characters
What's the best set up for the BK fight in PoR? Aether, or Wrath/Adept?
Parker Roberts
A Hammer works pretty well
John Martinez
PoR, so you can only use Ragnell.
Christopher Jackson
>Is he our guy? Is there a better Lord? Marth
Jacob Barnes
>After he's done with all of that he fucks off with his bro instead of sticking around and becoming some boring faggot noble who loses strength and gets killed by a random jobber mid-boss
Truly a 10/10 Hero
Lucas Flores
I wouldn't say Arvis or Zephielwere mid-bosses, plus the latter was also fighting Brenya, Narshen and mamkutes at the time
Nolan Reed
Well, Marth is a gigantic faggot just like most of Sup Forums. So you might be right.
Christopher Morris
The best
Daniel Nelson
>tfw you can't carry that stance >tfw you can't just dismiss Begnion and go 'let's get out of here, Elincia' >tfw no option to face the royal guard with Ike perma-rescued Elincia 1vall because you were insolent
that would have been fucking awesome
Wyatt Martin
When he takes it over it isn't the most renowned, and even in RD a fair few Begnion officers treat it like it's a group of no-name bandits.
>you can't just dismiss Begnion and go 'let's get out of here, Elincia' Well seeing as that would fuck Elincia's chances at being restored to Crimea's throne, yeah you really couldn't.
Adam Carter
Imagine being an origin god governing one of the two primal forces of the universe and then this human walks up, says this to you, and then proceeds to beat the immortal shit out of you.
What are you even supposed to do after that?
Carson Murphy
>destroy Daein with a band of mercenaries and new recruits >impose Elincia over Crimea >make example of a couple lords
easy
Grayson Brown
He's one of my favorite characters in any video game. He's flawed and believable yet overcomes the odds and grows as a person from the beginning of the first game to the end of the second. He really reminds me of beowulf except Ike never becomes a king.
Michael Nguyen
>Make your peace with whatever the gods worship.
Daaaamn.
Nathan Baker
>Ike joins Ashnard instead >Faces down all of the subhumans side-by-side with Soren
Bentley Watson
>Make your peace with whatever the gods worship.
Daniel Torres
It's great how there's a huge split in the group too, just because you're admittedly unqualified and you don't even blame them for fucking off either. And every character doesn't immediately like him and suck his dick either, begging to join his justice squad.
God damn PoR was so much better than RD.
Dominic Scott
Hector.
Anthony Hernandez
Now, FE has never been known to be extremely politically heavy, but the politics going on between the nations and even within the nations themselves were more complicated than that.
Julian Evans
there's no heavier political leverage than killing leaders all around
in fact, that's how Ashnard came to power
Daniel Foster
It saddens just how much the average quality of story, character personality/design, and story have gone down so hard with awakening and fates. Like we got some cool gameplay maps with Nohr but that was about it. The story was the worst so far, the characters only good point is them being fapable and thats about it. We will never see characters like Ike or Sigurd.
Camden Long
If you were able to create the lord for the next FE game, what characteristics would you give him/her? Personality, class, background, etc.
Zachary Murphy
That was within his own country and he had the backing of the Blood Pact. Ike can't kill everyone and even then it's very arguable that he wouldn't have gotten as far as he did if he didn't have a good support system. Empress Sanaki not being an actual bitch and being one of the highest authorities in Begnion greatly helped Ike to restore Elincia to Crimea's throne.
What would be the point if Ike had managed to get Elinica that far by himself but then Begnion, which is the most powerful country on the continent in terms of politics and military strength not recognize her as sovereign?
Luis Nguyen
Begnion officials are full of themselves, everyone else recognizes them as a straight up threat in RD. Fuck his presence was the only thing preventing people from rebelling, so Bastian PAID him to leave so he could deal with it. You are right about them being relatively unknown in the first game though. They mostly helped farmers and shit deal with bandits for living wages only.
Ike needed the begnion army, and later the gallian army(for political purposes only), to deal with Daein.
Lincoln Morales
>Ike can't kill everyone
Isaac Bailey
Guy who genuinely enjoys mercenary work, doesn't care about who hires him, and can find happiness wherever he goes. Actually smiles and laughs. Has a spine. Starting class as either Mercenary or Bandit.
Robert Green
Maybe from a writing standpoint, RD has some of my favorite levels in a FE game.
It's one of my favorite games of all time, but I do love both
Gavin Carter
This, seriously. Not that PoR and RD didn't have it's fair share of one note characters, but it feels like that's every character in Awakening/Fates, including the bulk of the "main" cast. The supports are even more guilty of this, it feels like every Fates support is "Character A and Character B compete to see who can be the most obnoxious about their one gimmick".
Andrew Rivera
PoR/RD had so much going for in terms of world building/lore. And the best thing about it is that most of the stuff that has shown up in the artbook is stuff that were already told in game. It just expands on ideas/gives further clarification. I bet you if we get a dedicated art/design book for Fates, not the one that shares stuff with other games in the series, we would get the story and politicking there instead of the game where it should have been. Sorry nigga thems the breaks. >INB4 he defeated a goddess Technically Ashera was only as half as powerful as she could have been.
Wyatt Wright
In russia
Colton Fisher
>Herons Pre-Massacre - Numbered in the thousands >Herons Post-Massacre - Less than 100 Jesus Christ
Adam Barnes
>Ike is such a great character for running away from everything like the bitch he is!
Robert Barnes
There's no need to be jealous Micaiah, I'm sure there are at least two people who actually like you.
Ryder Reyes
This attempt is so adorable.
Aiden Turner
But that's not true at all, while there were several shitters like Yarne, Sumia and Autismmage, there were many characters that had actual backstory, motivation, character relationships etc that rival the older games(look at the majority, not the few). Virion for example was a great character that had the misfortune of being in a game that completely ignored his country's conflict and did nothing with it, where as if it was Tellius Virion would've had some pre and post battle lines with Walhart and his men.
Joshua Cox
I liked the bulk of the Dawn Brigade, shame they all got zero focus after part one.
Kevin James
>Use the Dangercaiah strat >Suddenly Micaiah is an unstoppable killing machine soloing hordes of enemies
People hate her because she's not as brain dead easy to use as Ike.
Elijah Russell
So Awakening wasted its few good characters by not actually doing anything with them. Not sure how that makes it better.
I will admit that in terms of actual characters Awakening was head and shoulders above Fates, but it's still below the earlier games.
Elijah Bailey
Fuck I love Ike's design. The clothes look extremely comfortable to wear and despite it not looking too practical in combat with the cape and all, he exudes confidence unlike that fuccboi Corrin.
Caleb Perez
I think people hate her because she's a Mary Sue and not interesting as a result. Part 4 is great because half the time it isn't Micaiah talking anymore.
The whole dawn brigade really could've benefitted from more playtime for character development and potential to level up. In my last playthrough Edward became a monster, but everyone else really struggled.
Luis Wilson
>Micaiah is amazing if you know how to use her >Sothe is pretty meh and forces you to prep him for endgame and ignore Heather/Volke >Edward/Nolan are a 2 man wrecking crew and perfectly endgame viable >Leonardo is just a shittier Rolf or Shinon >Laura can be replaced by any other healer after part 1 >Aran is a bro, but still outclassed by Nephenee >Meg is secret god tier if you can get her to her first promotion without killing yourself >Volug = no >Zihark, do not be tempted by the pretty boy, Edward all the way >Jill, Haar with tits >Fiona = double no >Tauroneo/Tormod/Muraim/Vika, how about that chapter availability? >Nailah, exp hog, but still awesome. use her in endgame if you want a laguz party >Rafiel is a crippled Reyson
Some garbage, but most of the Dawn Brigade is perfectly useable.
Juan Harris
>Part 4 >DB tries to get more lines >gets shut down
Noah Morris
Senri Kita's notes on the designs showed that she tried to be somewhat practical with them.
Dominic Smith
>>Jill, Haar with tits
Haar is much better than Jill.
Jose Wright
>mist showing her spats l-lewd
Cameron Peterson
>characters are garbage statters in a dirt easy babies game!
I can use whoever I want without one fuck and beat the game.
Fire Emblem does not do terrible much to endear itself to people who have numbers autism
William Nguyen
Or whoever was the art director at the time* I just realized that it may have been a split role at that time like how it is now with Awakening and Fates where Kozaki is the character designer but the armor and general art direction was done by someone else. But the notes on it and her drawings are relevant in that context nonetheless.
Charles Jackson
I dislike Ike because of his name. It's too "american" if you follow. As a proud Englishman, I can't get behind anyone with such a silly name. Same with "Cody" from Street Fighter/Final Fight.
Adrian Morris
>Mist showing off her spats
Carter Fisher
I also really like part 4 because you get to kill scum like Izuka and Lekain. There are so many unique lines between them and your characters too.
William Gray
It's okay, maybe next Fire Emblem the hero will be named Mohammed.
Carson Edwards
>Tormod, Muarim, and Vika It still hurts
Technically yes, but Jill's team is much shitter so she's more useful, than Haar who is a god amongst demigods. Like how Pent is better statwise than Saleh, but Saleh has easier enemies in his game so he does better
Austin Cox
>outclassed by Nephenee He can carry the Dawn Brigade by himself on hard. Meanwhile, you have to go out of your way to level Nephenee because chapter 2 is ass and all over the place.
I don't know if those 2? points she has of a higher cap in speed are better than Aran's increased strength, but he's way more useful than her in the game.
Hudson Nguyen
Did anyone else kill the Black Knight with your Father's Axe?
Something about finishing what your father started is fucking badass.
Adam Hall
Seeing as the heroes are self-inserts now I take it your name is Mohammed?
Parker White
>mfw did this with Volke >he fucking procs Lethality
pottery such pottery
Gabriel Jackson
Tellius went all out with this, Reyson even had boss battle lines in PoR
Jeremiah Garcia
>by himself on hard
No he can't. Not a single DB character can solo carry the group on hard. The only ones actually capable of doing such a thing show up late, like Burger King or Wolf Queen.
On Hard (Maniac) Aran's job is getting doubled while everyone else prays that their early levelups don't completely suck.
Henry Morales
>equip a Hammer >BK is now a complete pushover How did they let this through?
Christopher Thomas
BK is meant to be a complete pushover to Ike by that point. That was the purpose.
Jack Ross
I never liked that Urvan was an S-rank super powerful axe. It kinda cheapens the scene in PoR where he throws away Alondite to use it. Instead of throwing away a blessed weapon to use his favored tried and true steel/iron/whatever axe, like he threw away his life as a general to become a mercenary, he throws it away to use his super strong super axe.
Xavier Morris
Aran caps at 33 speed, Nephenee caps at 34 speed. 34 is the magic number in endgame so you don't get doubled by enemies in the tower. Plus Aran also has a shitty speed growth so it's no guarantee he'll even hit cap. Feel free to use whoever though, that's why the game has 70+ characters.
Isaac Sanders
>Reyson even had boss battle lines in PoR >That one with Ashnard I mean that was certain death for him, but it's the fact that it exists is what counts.
Hudson Allen
>tfw RD was first FE game I played since a new copy was in a closing movie store for $20 >get to Ike's first section >mfw the best
Benjamin Collins
>>Make your peace with whatever the gods worship.
Dominic Young
Considering he canonically crippled himself to make swords harder to use, that scene makes sense.
Carter Reyes
It really was jarring seeing that Ragnell would do 3 damage while a hammer does 21 on my most recent playthrough.
Noah Scott
>Kill the man who murdered your father >Give his sword to your sister >Watch her slaughter dragons with it
Robert Lee
It's like the Tibarn/Nailah conversation in RD. Good fucking luck getting it to happen, but it's pretty damn awesome.
Austin Bell
At least someone in Tellius was confirmed to be getting some ass.
Ryder Campbell
>Ike visits Sup Forums.png
Brandon Perry
I agree. Ike is fucking amazing, I just like the badass regal motherfucker a little more.
Ayden Richardson
...
Mason Richardson
If I replace "Aran" with "Nolan and Edward" in your post, it describes my playthrough accurately
Thomas Gray
>liberated Crimea from the Mad King Ike beat putin?
Brayden Wright
I mainly dislike that it's 1 range, and doesn't give +1 speed so Titania can hit that magic 34
She really needed tome access on promotion.
>Land engulfed by chaos >People fainting because of the distortion >Instead they decide to flirt, and shit-talk each other. It's strange you don't get many shipping them, rather than Tibarn x Elincia
Andrew Wright
>Zihark, do not be tempted by the pretty boy, Edward all the way In hard mode it isnt. Zihark/Volug support makes you almost untouchable Zihark can have adept, advantage and cancel making him hard to kill which is a blessing in HM Dawn Brigade chapters. Give him 1 strenght potion and he kills for days.
Jackson Adams
>When Zihark is in range
Jayden Phillips
>Pent
I hate how I was forced to use him out of necessity. Erk ended up 6 magic below average by the time I got Pent, so guess who got benched.
Mason Brown
Why isnt this a banner?
Leo Perez
There are like 7 main ships in the the FE fandom between both Tellius games. Outside of that, it really isn't a big thing for those games.
I do like both Tibarn x Elincia and Tibarn x Nailah.
Sebastian Gomez
>yfw the Black Knight kicks open that fucking door
it was a regular axe, but became a super powerful s-rank because greil's spirit inhabits it
William Martin
Why is Nailah so perfect?
Dylan Foster
>Dheginsea haha going through all that bullshit to steal a bolting was worth it to snipe big daddy dragon
Austin Thompson
Actually I think some of the Royals have 2. And even Skrimir got one.
Colton Walker
Battle theme, Skrimir, Caineghis, Dhegomsea. Tibarn, Naesala, and Mist all have a character theme too,(the last three were unused in RD but the same song they had in PoR)
Colton Bell
>>When Zihark is in range
>And starts talking shit about trying to fight for underdogs
Noah Russell
I want to touch Nailah's fluffy tail
Sebastian Gonzalez
>34 is the magic number in endgame so you don't get doubled by enemies in the tower. that is pretty sad
> Plus Aran also has a shitty speed growth so it's no guarantee he'll even hit cap. Feel free to use whoever though, that's why the game has 70+ characters. it's too easy to get around this on RD because of the fixed +3 stat ups from BEXP, plus you usually max out 2~3 stats no problem on most characters before hitting 20
