I'm bored and have nothing to play. I've played 8000 hours of morrowind.
Tell me about dragon age inquisition. Is it good? Worth the purchase? What kind of RPG elements does it have?

It's a single player MMO with a generic doomsday villain plot and horrendously grindy combat.
Fuck no, it's not worth a purchase. Pirate it if you absolutely want to waste your time.
It's not worth the money. At all.
If you absolutely have to play it, pirate it. But I promise you, you'll regret spending money on this piece of shit.
Is it really that fucking bad?
what the fuck bioware.
What about the loot mechanic? Can I collect stuff?
Its fun, /v just hates everything.
Yes but does it have heavy RPG elements? Can I roleplay?
it's not fun if I can't immerse myself in the world and use my imagination.
It is like 20 dollars for it and all the DLC and I found it fun enough. I liked the environments and the different classes. Loot is ok, story is ok. Played on hardest difficulty with most of the trials turned on for a challenge.
That's what I thought as well, then I went and bought Dragon Age 2.
And that game was even worse than Sup Forums had claimed.
Modern bioware is utter shit. I'd rather play the FF13 trilogy than one more Bioware title.
Sure, you can collect elfroot by the fucking truckloads.
The gear dropped by mobs is universally trash. You can get "epic" loot drops from dragons and shit but that really doesn't matter because crafted gear beats anything you can find anyway.
>crafted gear beats anything you find
yeah. fuck that. Witcher 3 did the same shit and it completely ruined the experience.
ugh.... Will any other game match morrowind ever again?
it's a shittier single player mmo than kingdoms of anal : rektoning
>ugh.... Will any other game match morrowind ever again?
What do you mean? Hand crafted enchantments in Morrowind were so good they broke the game.
Yes but by the time you had those you earned it by putting 600 + hours into the game.
No. You are the inquisitor. You can be nice, mean or cheeky inquisitor.
Do you want sheer number of hours? If you let yourself loose and complete all the zones you can probably get 50+ hours, but keep in mind story proper is MAYBE ten hours, tops. Game is padded as fuck.
You can break Morrowind a lot faster than that. In under 10 hours you could produce ridiculous results due to the hilarious ways to exploit shit.
>nice, mean or cheeky
Not really, you might be thinking of Hawke.
The Inquisitor only has one mode - diplomatic.
That's where using your imagination comes in.
The point of roleplaying is to bind yourself to a set of strict rules that otherwise you could overlap.
That's what keeps morrowind fresh instead of going straight to get dragonbone curiass at the very start of the game or crysamere.
Play Gothic 1 and 2. They're almost another side of the same coin Morrowind occupies - smaller, but even more detailed areas.
No, there are three choices for most dialogues. Top is nice, bottom is mean, middle is cheeky.
yes it's awesome as fuck just look at this holy fucking shit is this awesome or what get chills man
youtube.com
None of them stray far enough into mean or cheeky to actually be considered either.
They're like watered down versions of mean and cheeky because the Inquisitor is a symbol for the people or some shit.
why do the characters faces look shitty as fuck
Which is really just an excuse for bioware's dumbfuck writers to create a character as inoffensive as possible.
That's why I said mean inquisitor and cheeky inquisitor. No matter what you do you're still the good savior of the people.
If you want to play Dragon Age, just play Origins and be done with it.
i didn't particularly care for this game but keep in mind a lot of people liked it
Sup Forums is not representative of the gaming population when they all say it sucks
pirate the game, try it out see how you like it
It can't be all that bad
Dragon Kino
This fucking guy knows how to play morrowind
This is oretty much on the nail. The game is intentionally padded to make the game seem longer. On top of this, your damage is jack shit even on normal difficulties, while the damage you take is crazy.
This is one of those RPGS that only get better when you make it half way into the game, when you start facing enemies that take effort to kill (unless your Knight Enchanter, which still to this day makes everything easy). Honestly, the combat and the graphics are the saving grace of this game. Nightmare mode Dragon fights are amazing.
And i guess the one thing you are really trying to find out though is the story. It's..meh. Nothing special to be honest. You'll explore lots of places, meet cool chraracters, hear awesome banter. But for the most part, the story is so-so. Not Mass Effect bad, just average.
Will I be rewarded for exploration? Can I turn the voices off so I can read? I absolute despise voice acting.
Now compare this to the song number in W3
That entire scene was absolute cringe. The most half assed attempt at pulling heartstrings that I've ever seen in a video game.
The fact that some people in the comments were unironically moved by this garbage is depressing.
>japanese
Good trolling. Also that japanese singer sucks
What's the best way to play KE post Trespasser?
Yeah you get rewarded for exploration by either walking into mobs/rifts intentionally set 5+ levels higher in order to artificially create a reason for you to come back to the same zone later on. The entire game from the War Table on down was designed to pad length into a hilariously short game.
I hate voice acting as wsell, but its actually well done. No cringey voices as well as i can recall. Exploration does reward you...just with mostly trash items or items you will eventaully get rid of in like 2 levels. The good thing about that tho is that you can destroy the items for parts, and use the items part to craft part of wepaons for broken as fuck stats. However, that doesnt happen to much until half way into the game, where it actaully matters. You sometimes get lore and stuff, but mostly, its not all that explorative, becuase the story itself isnt all that great.
You either love the combat and characters, or simply refrain from buying this game. Seriously, the combat and the cool characters is the only reason i can recommend this to you. Please do not buy this for the story. You will be disappointed. I had put hour and hours into this, and friends bought into it, thinking they will get a good story. They havent even left the first castle the game gives you, simply becuase they did not feel all that immeresed
You can turn down the voice audio but I would advise keeping it up because the animations are horrible so you kinda need to hear how the characters are saying something to actually understand the tone.
Serious question, what about the combat is so great in your opinion? Outside of my Artificer shadowstepping and grappling hooking everywhere I was bored to tears. Mage is Autoattack the class, movement is wonky as fuck so melee is a veritable shitshow, Companions are absolutely braindead, ect.
It loses it's steam pretty early on. It just becomes one fetch quest after another. Your companions are annoying as fuck. Blackwall and Varric, who was one of the only good things about DA2 are the only two I can tolerate. Don't even get me started on that cunt Vivienne.
Nah man it's good for a while but they put zero effort into everything outside of the main quest, there's a shitload of content but you won't want to do 75% of it because it's pointless and repetitive.
Get Witcher 3 if you haven't played it instead
Oh that shit is hard, but i had beaten all the dragons and got so high stacked in stats i still could never die. The way i play is spamming Fire Mine for full Barrier while wailing the enemies i see with spells. I think the nerfs to it was basically made for you to spam spells you have then go ham with the sword. Fire Mine is a must tho. Big damage procs your barrier so much
Yeah, i can understand where you're coming from. I think i just like the craziness that Nightmare brings since the damage you take is insane. Feels like an accomplishment when you get bombarded by CC but come out on top. Even playing Reaver Warrior was fun becuase you are constantly go from low to full HP later in the game, not giving a fuck about anything anf ripping enemies to shreds. And then when you thought you mastered everything, the dragon fights rip you a new one. You should probably try playing as a Warrior. Its more hands on.
saggin age stinkquistion more like it amiright guys lmao
Don't forget this masterpiece
youtube.com
fade step ability which resets your mana with every enemy you pass through + immolate + chain lightning = perma 99 sword charge and constant barrier
It manages to make Dragon Age 2 look good in comparison so no.
Dragon Age has always been shit its just Mass Effect with a mid eval skin
It plays nothing like mass effect or are you talking about the story elements?
Someone post the chart
Story, and the gameplay also happens to be terrible to boot.
this
Origins was the only game I replayed with different classes and races
2 was boring
cisqusition looks like crap
>unless your Knight Enchanter, which still to this day makes everything easy
Knight Enchanter is nowhere near as OP as it used to be. It's pretty much worthless now. Rift Mage is the best mage spec.
>Tfw everyone but me preferred Cassandra
>Even Bioware
Josephine's romance is so fucking boring.
I have. I've played every class, on Nightmare, with all trials activated. Its just incredibly tedious. The most fun I had in DAI was cheesing a bunch of talent points, and going solo on my grappling artificer in Nightmare while playing it like it was an ARPG.
I know and it's horse shit. Two straight romance options for male characters, and one of them is a dyke and the other is barely an option.
You just need to mod the game to make it fun. So much wasted potential. hopefully we get a full frostbite modding toolkit soon
