1
>much greater enemy variety
>MUCH greater weapon variety
>more fantastic and interesting, instead of following the story progression
>unforgettable moments like the scientist hiding on top of the giant fucking generator thing

HL2, obviously

HL1's way too outdated

First one's better imo. Played through HL2 around 4 times now, it has its moments but lacks the charm of 1. Also WAY better environment variety.

1 because no akward boring exposition + it had actually fun enemies and weapons
also everyone riding gordon's dick really annoyed me in 2

HL1 honestly.

they are booth good for different reasons

2 was a glorified tech demo, wanking it's dedicated physics engine in our faces as if having one was some kind of accomplishment

it sort of was..for like...3 months after that point

they weren't even the first havok game, psi-ops on ps2 beat them. (great, great underrated game btw)

HL 1 has shit graphics and awful voice acting

Play Black Mesa then. HL 2 had no story progress.

Meet scientist, escape bad guys, kill Dr. Hax guy. Building explodes. G Man appears again and guess what? He puts you in that same room where you started in the intro.

Alyx is probably the only thing I enjoyed besides the physics.

half life 2 had better level design

no it didn't

HL2 hands down

Better grafix
Achievements
Secrets
Better Multiplayer
It's on Xbox

I like 1, but I guess 2 is more impressive.

I really only like 1 based on the premise.

>Spooky facility
>You're way the fuck underground
>NOBODY knows what the FUCK is going on
>See more fucked up shit the further down you go

Other games beat psi-ops as well

Yes it did

>it sort of was..for like...3 months after that point
Not really. Forsaken came out the exact same year as the original Half-Life and it was the first game to have a dedicated physics engine. Other games from 1998 to 2004 had physics engines as well. HL2 having one was irrelevant in 2004.

First post best post.

prove it

1, 2 has shitty weapons, enemies, and presents the story in a boring way

Why bother, you'll just disregard any point I make and shitpost.

2
1 was real good, but had some annoying shit that makes me not want to re play it
>5 minute train ride at the start
>on the rails level
>underwater level
>zen

you can't prove your point then, great

half life 1 has god tier pacing, is unintentionally funny, and great weapons and combat

I love 2 to death though

Half-Life > Opposing Forces = Blue Shift > Episode 2 = Episode 1 > Half-Life 2

>xen
>bad
opinion disregarded

Both are great and all but sadly they dont reach episode 2's perfection

>platforming in an fps
>good

literally get gud

I just want to go to the Borealis and kick some Combine ass to avenge Eli... ;_;

Episode/HL-3, WHEN!!???

This. Also the movement feels so much better. Too bad valve loves to retroactively fuck with their games and change shit to the point where WON half life feels way different from the steam version.

both are overrated shit with atrocious story and gameplay

>Xen

HL2, obviously.

I'll just leave this here.

three minutes in this is literally just autismal nitpicking and blowing any jokes out of proportion holy shit

I agree with this guy's opinions. Even with HL2 being pretty good, just not a very good sequel.

this guy's idea of an "awkward pause" is a fucking comma
he thinks a comma in a sentence is a sitcom-level pause for laughter
i can't watch this, this is too much
