The Dualshock is a terrible controller. Here's why.
I just borrowed my brother's PS4 for a bit. After just a couple of days playing, I have pain and stiffness in both index fingers from using the unergonomic triggers.
Compare this to using Xbox controllers regularly for over 10 years, with absolutely no ill effects.
Also, the thumbsticks on the Dualshock are a pile of shit. My brother has only had his PS4 for 6 months, and the left stick feels crunchy, responds erratically, and clicking it feels mushy and barely works. Also, the rubber has worn off and you can see the plastic underneath.
Compare that to my Xbox controller I've had since about 2007 which works just as well as the day I got it, and although the dimples on the sticks have worn off a bit, they're still completely intact.

The DS4 is perfect, before mine got stolen I used that thing all the time for pc gaming. Now whenever I use my xbox controller I get hand cramps and my thumb locks up, also dualshock has objectively the best dpad

Atleast the analog sticks are symmetrical. Only truly brain damaged individuals would use controller with asymmetrical sticks.
One legit complaint against the DS4 was that those manufactured near the PS4's launch had an issue with the stick's material. The rubber coat on the sticks wore out very quickly over a few months due to contact with one's thumbs. Sweat, oil, friction, whatever.
Later runs had fixed that issue. Anecdotally, I have a DS4 from three years ago that I use on PC and one from six months ago when I had gotten a PS4. The older one's left stick wore down to expose the hard plastic underneath in a very short time. The new one feels significantly different and hasn't shown a bit of wear.

I've been using one for the better part of three years. They're lifespan is pretty short which is my only complaint. Other than that, they're neither awful or perfect.

I have a shit ton of consoles so I've used a shit ton of controllers and the dualshock 4 is the comfiest I've ever used. The fucking rubber on the left stick finally gave in though. I've been using these shitty caps over the top and it feels horrible but im too cheap to pay for a £40 controller.
