Explain to someone why preordering is a bad idea

>Explain to someone why preordering is a bad idea
>"Fuck you. I'll spend my money how I want"

Is trying to convince people to stop preordering even worth the effort?

Yes. If you can actually back up your claim and form solid facts to support your arguments, at least a few people will be convinced. Worst you can do is not even try like most people, leaving retards to continue doing what they do, eventually other retards will think its acceptable and start doing it.

>Preorder a game I know I want but don't want to have to go through the hassle of trying to secure a copy of when the store inevitably only gets two or three
>Only put like five dollars or some shit down on it, I'll pay the rest when it comes out
>Some faggot has to get all uppity about HURRR WHY U PREORDER GAEM

BECAUSE SOME OF US HAVE JOBS, LEAVE OUR HOUSE, AND DON'T STILL HAVE EVERYTHING HANDED TO US BY OUR MOMS WHEN WE'RE CLOSE TO THIRTY YOU CANDLE-SNIFFING DICK FENCE

I can't recall any instance where a store did not have enough copies of a game I wanted.

WHEN I WAKE UP, FIRST THING I DO...
EGGS

you are a moron for pre-ordering

do you honestly think anything but the nichest of console titles won't have ample availability?

I liked this movie.

If there's a game I'm sure I'll buy, I pre-order so I don't have to pay later. It doesn't cost me anything extra and if they're gonna throw extras at me, that's cool.

Persona 3 was a bitch to get....

Most people are rather dumb. A fool and his money are soon parted.

I don't think you can fix it. A majority of people are not meant to be leaders, thinkers. Most are meant to be followers, easily giving in to their emotions of fear, anger, or in this case hype and excitement or just plain following the herd.

Basically this.
If I'm buying it anyways why not put $20 every few weeks instead of dropping a full $60+tax at once? What harm comes from it?

When I go out to get the latest copy of underage panty quest or final fantasy 356: hurt feelings edition, you would be shocked how many of my gamestops in buttfuck Indiana don't get a single copy if nobody preordered.

When I bought Wonderful 101, my copy that I preordered was the ONLY copy the store got for months. Then there was also the Brawl and Smash Wii U midnight releases where they ran out of copies before the preorders got halfway through the lines. Shit happens.

>ur stoopid
Great argument

This
Faggots act like I'm preordering every game under the fucking sun, I don't drop preorders down unless I am 110% sure that I absolutely want the game.

It's worth trying, but not worth putting too much effort into it. Like, you give the basic spiel of 'dumb cosmetic bullshit given a limited availability is used to trick customers into paying when the only information about the game is carefully crafted pieces from marketers', you throw out a couple high profile examples of downgraded shitshows. But if they still push back you just give them a whatever and move on.

Some people just love the hype too much to let the hype train be derailed.

Chomper was my nigga

>hurr durr it's okay if i waste money because i have a job hurr durr
How did you even get a job anyway?

>Game I was going to buy anyway
>"waste" money

Are you actually this stupid or just pretending

Why would you even buy it? Video games are a waste of money. Go find a real hobby.

What's wrong with preordering?

You can't actually know if you want the game you stupid cum guzzler, it doesn't fucking exist yet.

Jeff Bennett, please

Holy shit did I actually just read that?

>What harm comes from it?
that the game is shit
like 70% of $60 titles in 2016

>The only way I can even have the slightest idea a game will be like is via carefully crafted marketing material
>Surely this could never mislead me!
Yeah you did you fetus.

Try those digital only to physical games.

Shovel Knight, Shantae, super dungeon bros., Etc. Also limited collectors editions.

He's buying the game anyway.

Why though? Wouldn't you wait for reviews? It's literally a day or two.

>pre-order a game and get 20% off with no deposit if done online and release day delivery
>don't pre-order and pay full price and have to pick it up myself

gee I dunno op, you make a convincing point maybe I shouldn't pre-order

>Basing your opinion on what other people think.
>Especially in an industry where the reviewer or the site is paid to promote good reviews.
???

Reviews that come from early copies are also marketing material idiot. If you don't enjoy getting dicked over by one of the most dishonest industries around you look for unedited gameplay footage without commentary.

I fucking miss being a little kid, man
